what format and quality do you guys save your music? in my case, i convert everything to 128kbps .OPUS cus' it's the same shit as .FLAC. storage is cheap but i have 100k music files that I want to listen to on my phone lol.
>>107270138>codecmp3>qualitywhatever you get from youtube idk
>>107270138FLAC.Just get a phone with an SD card and you won't have space issues..>but i have 100k music filesAnd you don't regularly listen to almost all of it, which makes it all a waste of space. Delete the ones you don't listen to or don't like, and your problem will be solved.
>>107270138Its 2025 there is no justification to use lossy audio codecs anymore. Lossy audio needs to be banned on pain of death.
>>107270583>Lossy audio needs to be banned on pain of death.I wouldn't go that far but people who convert mp3/aac to flac/wav should be shot
>>107270818There are numerous pieces of music that have been lost forever due to lossy audio. So much music only exists in lossy. Lossy is objectively a crime against humanity. And anyone who understands what lossy is and still uses it is deserving of the most horrific death possible. I can forgive those who use it in ignorance, but to know and still use it, no crime is greater.
>>107270583I use opus on my phone because it saves space on my 64gb device (ik ik)
>>107270138>storage is cheap but i have 100k music files that I want to listen to on my phone lol. Most people who have small libraries won't understand.
>>107270138Opus
>>107270138>but i have 100k music files that I want to listen to on my phone lol.So what's the problem? Modern phones have up to 1 TB of storage
>>107271454i´m so fucking poor but i like the variety
>>107270818mp3s sound better when converted to flac
>>107270138>in my case, i convert everything to 128kbpsAre you some kind of low life scum jeet?
>rip music from yt-dlp>use ffmpeg to convert to 24bit wav for the best quality>use ffmpeg again to convert to 16bit flac to save spacesimple as
FLAC at home128kbps Opus on phone, which is overkill. 96kbps is transparent
>>107270138My PC (not including network storage) has about 70TB of storage, so lossless.
One thing I am missing since moving to Linux: AIMP
tend to grab music in lossless format, if possible.for phone, opus 128kbps which is more than enough usually
>>107270138Opus 96, 128 if you're fancy. Better audio storage formats exist contrary to consumerist sunk cost delusions of lead-poisoned xennials and millenials with rose tinted glasses
>>107270138Flac for the library, cached transcodes to opus or mp3 (based on support) for streaming to clients.
>>107270138lossless: 256k opuslossy for phone: 128k opus
