Did you actually tell the OS that Nemo is your file manager? Your DE settings panel will typically have a selection for this.
>>
>>107275543
If you are talking about this, then yes. I didn't touch the settings editor because it looked to scary and I didn't want to fuck it up more.

You probably have to do this: https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/543557

Lemme test some things for my 4chan emacs extension
https://bpa.st/45OA

# lang: bash
echo "this should be rendered as a bash src block"

;; lang: clojure
(println "And this should be recognized as Clojure")

rem lang: bat
@echo off
rem This batch program formats and checks new disks.
rem It is named Checknew.bat.
rem
rem echo Insert new disk in Drive B.
pause
format b: /v chkdsk b:

lang: apl

There's a problem with my sound card where the audio is quiet after booting and goes back to normal after coming out of suspend mode. How difficult would it be for me to try and fix this myself and get it patched into the kernel? It can't be that hard, it would be just like, going into the code and like, changing the number. I taught operating systems in university. I think I can do this.
>>
>>107276174
Well maybe the problem doesn't even require you to edit any code because it's a maybe a pulseaudio/pipewire problem, have you tried testing it with both?

Keep in mind that if your distro isn't listed in the kernel.org faq, then it is a meme distro

Why the fuck am I getting this error, and why is it applied on a per-board basis?
>>
>>107276206
Actually, on the contrary if your distro isn't mentioned there (like mine, Gentoo) then it might be because they're running vanilla kernels and you should be reporting it to kernel.org's Bugzilla instance instead.
>>
>>107276203
I'm on Arch but I'm having the same issue described here: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/very-quiet-audio-fixed-after-suspend/159673
It looks like it's unique to the same prebuilt desktop I have. I tried a lot of things to no avail.

>>107276260
Yeah I caved like a moron and put one of the burner emails I use, this place is a honeypot anyways so whatever. I noticed I didn't get this error until I started using Linux, I dunno if that's a coincidence or not.
>>
>>107276206
My distro literally existed before any and all of those.
>>
>>107276343
You use Slackware?
>>
>>107276260
You only get that and/or countdowns and/or captchas if the system has EVER flagged your ip as having reddit cookies in the browser. The flagging in permanent so clearing cache makes no difference.

i've been getting the range ban notice regularly since the recent cloudflare outage. it doesn't seem to matter what board you're on, it just comes and goes. if you wait a couple minutes, long enough for the captcha to expire and refresh, your post will usually go through, which makes me think it could be some kind of problem related to the captcha causing the issue. in any case given how many people are experiencing it I don't think it's an issue with any individual user, but something on 4chan's end that they're hopefully aware of and looking into.

I want to install a Debian package that I don't trust.
Is there a way to easily confine that package to only read+write to a couple directories?
I am using Ubuntu and app armor is too complex.
Something more in line with graphene OS's storage scopes would be remarkable.

Reloading snd_hda_intel makes it quiet again. That proves it's a problem with the driver, right?
