>>107337721kinda of. If anything, it's making me see how awesome Hall Effect is while how much of a meme TMR is. MX tho, it is beautiful that you can make this work without even needing a microcontroller, and that the pcb design is so simple a 12 year old can make it. TMR feels like you are emulating a keyboard through firmware, while HE and MX are actual engineering.

>>107330879oh my god man its beautiful, how do you make these things so fast, sorry I didn't see this sooner the thread saged. Give me some time to wrap my head around your design, but trust me its pinned to my wall with the description as a sort of ideal to shoot for. I'm beginning the first phases of a basic TMUX + 3 tmr2083s keyboard, this will have a teensy 4.1 connected to two TMUXs that each have 3 TMR2083s connected to them. They don't have an op-amp so the resolution is awful, only like 40 steps, but it will be a good way to test until I have the amp figured out. TMUX is actually insanely small, its not really a problem for me since I have a 10x camera, but still lol, look how tiny those pins are, my 34 awg magnetic wire is barely small enough
>>107341292yikes, here is a better picture of the keyboard parts, tmux is ludicrously small.

>>107336007did you fully disable the RGB? tried building QMK and flashing it? not from their online interface.
>>107337105listen anon, that Wheatstone bridge is not designed to be fed into ADC directly. you need to at least buffer it, if not amplify it.you shouldn't even connect anything to it, that's not the point at this moment. the only thing you should have done is measure with DMM between V+/V- when switch is depressed and fully pressed, that's it. take those two data points.ideally, power the sensor with 5V, not 3.3. measure with switch in rest position between GND and V+ (one half of the bridge), between GND and V-, and between V+ and V-. takes these three data points for switch unpressed and fully pressed.based on the obtained data you design the PCB. connecting the micro to the TMR core makes no sense.and yeah, HE is simpler to use, as they are fully integrated, they have the amplifier on die, but they are not as versatile in implementation
>>107337623>shine-throughthose are ABS and you got PBT. update on how you like them
>>107341292here's using INA integrated instrumentation amplifiers. I skipped the analog switches, those were for swapping polarity of the magnet in case you need it. I think that complicates things too much.so for just the TMR core you'd need the amplifier and a way to scan the matrix. since you'd need one amplifier for each ADC you're better off scanning one column at a time, fast.are the teensy ADC pins 5V tolerant? also RG resistor is the gain resistor, for INA amplifier. no resistor = buffer (gain of 1). 100K (for INA823 or smth) measn gain of 2, and going lower increases the gain. you can adjust that resistor value based on your initial readings with just the sensor.for example, if you measure 100mV between V+/V- when fully pressed, and you need 3V into ADC, then you need 30x amplification factor. so RG becomes ... something dunno. 3K or sum shit. look into teh datasheet for whatever you end up using
>>107343000yes I know, I'm working on getting an amp setup in the meantime. This is what a quick press looks like. I know this is TRASH compared to what it can look like. I am listening to you and reading up on op-amps and the science behind them. Its going to take me a few days to catch up to all the stuff youve been saying. this is more of just a proof of concept. The bridge DOES work even if very poorly. I have renewed hope in this project and will be studying amps and inus
>>107341339you could use that tmux1308 but you'd need two of them, one for one half of the bridge, one for the other half of the bridge. so you can switch the full bridge into the INA amplifier. I'll think about it, ideally there's two channel switches, do you use one for four TMR sensors. like 4:1 two channel switches. if going this route you'd need 4 chips for a whole row.just measure what I told you, first of all. considering picrel, get GND/X1 and GND/X2 and X1/X2 without the switch installed, should be 2.5V for both GND/X1 and X2, and should be 0V between X1/X2.then install the switch and repeat these three measurements.then press the switch fully and repeat these three measurements
>>107341880based Schiit enjoyer
>>107341913it's not only easy to solder, I can also desolder that tssop16 package, with the soldering iron
>>107343091the bridge can only work poorly. if that's what you're getting from one half of the bridge, that's fucking amazing!listen, that core isn't designed to output 3V on full press lmao. ALL such sensors are amplified to fit the ADC, you ideally want as much signal out of it before amplification, but I'd be amazed if getting 100mV out of it.there's some strain gauges (still in wheatstone bridge) that barely move 1-2mV, and that signal is amplified as fuck into ADCs. and still works fine.in this case, the TMR core should have low noise, and 30x-100x amplification should be nothingso, explain that picrel, each half of the bridge into one teensy ADC input? do you measure 2.5V on each with no switch installed?
>>107341920Having bigger or higher keys sounds like a good idea. One thing about most ortho splits that I find suboptimal is that they often only use 1u keys. It's easier to build, but bigger keys are simply easier to hit, so the outer columns should use bigger keys. Just use 1.75u so you don't need stabilizers. That being said, practicing touch typing is worth it imo. I was still typing with 6 fingers in August but I made good progress with 10 fingers since then, keybr helped the most.
>>107343048This looks like a big microphone array. Is TMR listening to us through the vibration of our key caps?
Wireless keyboard for desktop is stupidest shit every. Used mine for 2 years, only bother to go wireless a few week at first but the recharging with USB cable is too bothersome. Now the battery is swollen and I have to RMA. Got partial refund since they nolonger sell that model. For mouse it still somewhat make sense since you have to move it around the high end models normally come with receiver with USB cable plug so you can just easily unplug it to recharge.
>>107344625Most of the good mechanical ones these days you can just remove the battery and it still works as a wired keyboard.

I got a keychain v5 max and I like it. I wanted a full size wireless mechanical keyboard with minimal weight and this was the best I could find for those requirements. The space bar stabilizers are clicky though which is annoying because I swapped in silent tactile switches. I've some 205g0 coming in the mail to fix that. I have the Logitech G515 Tactile keyboard and I hate ithttps://www.logitechg.com/en-us/shop/p/g515-tkl-wireless-keyboard.920-012423The keyboard I had prior to this one was the original Logitech G Pro keyboard which I believe had Romer keys (The G Pro has since been changed to GX Blue clicky switches). I typed so much better on that keyboard than this new G515. With this new G515, the keys are so easily pressed that I routinely press two buttons as once as I type. These keys are way too sensitive for me. For someone whose heavy fingers move quickly but sometimes ever so slightly inaccurately, what kind of switch is good for me?
>>107347454I bought a Bambu a few days ago. People criticize the company for various reasons, but it should work on Linux (Otherwise I will return it)
>>107347454I have a Creality K1C which is pretty good, you can easily ssh into it to push it beyond its OOB capabilities. (Changing the max bed temp to print carbon filament or installing alternative Web UIs, for example). If you're willing to tinker a bit you can get great prints out of it. I'd recommend printing bed shims and taking time to level the bed and getting a 0.2mm nozzle if you want to print keycaps. Also if your default extruder gets clogged it's a bit of a pain to open and fix but you can easily swap it for something better which will be my next upgrade, probably. It's been working pretty flawlessly for me. Only minor issue I have is that Orca Slicer is a bit unstable outside of X sessions.

>>107348927what keycaps are those
>>107344292I was thinking these keyboards would make for a nice larger magnet field mapping, since they have 80-100 sensors. with some position tracking you could 3D map a magnet's field, in detail. would need a gyro or use the one in the phone, keep it fixed to the PCB while moving it around
Ok so this is interesting. I checked Cherry's stat sheet for their MX switches, both MX1A and MX2A, and in both cases they say they are rated for anywhere from 10 microamperes to 10 milliamperes. Well out of four of my keyboards I just tested only one of them has current within that range through the switches:Keychron V6 Max - 6 microamperesDaring Run Flip 6P - 6 microamperesTypface Monospace (solder pcb) - 5 microamperesCannonkeys Photon - 11 microamperesMight desolder a switch from my other keyboard to give that a test too. Unless I'm measuring wrong (entirely possible lol) most keyboards seem to be out of spec...

You're just coping really, really hard. And PBT doesn't? All plastic caps shine with time. Maybe don't let your finger grease stay on your keycaps after using them all day, wipe them down and keep them clean. Fucking retard.
>>107332515what's the best way to build a dactyl manuform in europe? just print the plastic in some online 3d shop, and build the rest myself, or buy some kit?
>>107384696Calm down sis! They aren’t bad or anything and the legends are very nice. Certainly better than the AliExpress caps in that regard. I see you feel strongly about this so I’ll just leave a pic of my Momo Yume for you. I took them off as I think a different keyboard would look better with them
>>107384980I'm not serious. Never back down. We need to respond hard to the GMK mafia. They're the reason we don't get any good PBT keycaps, all the designs get funneled to GMK and they only use ABS shite and won't touch PBT unless it's for the meme MTNU profile.
>>107382266Any idea if the PCB from a regular K8 will fit a K8 HE?
why does nuphy take so long to ship to eu i hate these chinks so much
>>107385159Just be glad you're not paying gay freedom tariffs.
>>107384495ball catch can either sound decent or sound like shit and it isn’t really consistent
>>107384755I could send you the parts you need to build one, but shipping from milkbagland to yurop won't exactly be cheap.
>>107385413It’s a cool concept and it looks nice but I don’t need another keyboard at this point…
>>107384291>YMDKeyOut of stock. :/That one and pretty much all of the other aesthetically pleasing cases I found were.
I know this isn't exactly the right thread to ask, but you are all keyboard nerds here, so you are probably anal about your mice too.I'm in need of a new mouse but discovered they are all cheap plastic shits across all brands now.Not a single mouse has a god damn scroll wheel that isn't made out of plastic anymore, and the most popular mouse in the world is suddenly a lightweight cheap plastic piece of shit with a ridiculous price tag.In other words the following brands are completely fucking out of ever being bought;>Logitech, Razer, Corsair, Steelseries, Asus, and GloriousThe jews have shaved off corporations like they used to shave coins, it's getting ridiculous. Please, does anyone have any mouse suggestions that don't suck?>Scroll wheel that isn't plastic or rubber>2 extra mouse buttons on thumb (mouse 4 and 5)>Isn't some cheap plastic piece of shit
>>107386323Find an old Logitech Proteus core G502 on ebay etc.
>>107382309Yeah but what is the alternative? >>107382018 is in the same boat due to all available models being even more expensive than the ducky. Frankly the V6 case also looks like mass produced tranny case.
>>107386323just want to say, the logitech pro x is the best mouse in the world for a reason. But if you must have a non- plasic mouse the pulsar - feinmann F01 is your best bet. It is made out of magnesium and has a metal scroll wheel. It's not quite as technically good as the pro x, but the build quality is real.
>>107332515wanna add to this, maybe full sized keyboard, wireless and not over $150. i will provide switches and caps if possible.
>>107386778You should've got the mojo pad as well.
>>107386450I don't know, but 100 € seems like a lot for ducky origin. You can get a ducky one 3 for less than 80 € in binland, and it is supposedly a higher quality board. If 100 € was my budget, I'd just wait for sales and get something with a large discount. There might have been something this weekend>V6 case also looks like mass produced tranny caseI think it looks like a normal, healthy, not-surgically-altered keeb. I'm kinda iffy about the translucent ISO versions though, even if I haven't actually seen one live. In any case, I don't think it is realistic to look for a new non-mass produced full size keyboard
I demand to know why the F1 is hyped to hell.
>>107386778oh nice I think I just bought those orange accent caps off drop for 5 dollars :3 they are gonna look good
>>107387218>You can get a ducky one 3 for less than 80 € in binlandI don't see a single one below double the price. God, this country has gone downhill..
