Alright, I'm buying a new monitor for Black Friday, been thinking of getting an OLED for a while. I currently have a 1440p 32" I like, would love that form factor but from what I understand, it's either 1440 27" or 4k 32", so I'm hopping up.

I'm looking at a few and I like LG from the past, I trust it at least. The best I'm looking at so far is LG 32GX870A-B, though the most comparable is LG 32GS95UE. The first is cheaper, but I'm just... very fucking confused by monitor manufacturers. It's also cheaper but I can find literally no fucking difference between them except maybe the second one is listed as having DisplayPort 1.4 and being... a half inch smaller? But only in some cases? And maybe a model year newer.

Is buying a monitor always and intentionally this confusing?

>Comparison side by side
https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/5918305d12

>>107339269
Good call. I mean, the premium is for the brand, frankly, but because I trust LG. They've always looked great and lasted forever for me. MSI, I've had mixed results with, but never had one of their monitors. I'm never buying a single fucking Samsung product again.

>MSI MPG 321URX
Fair comparison, thanks. I'm on DP 1.4 already as-is, so I don't even know what that'd upgrade, especially since I'm on an "older" card.

Can i save any money on the mobo? Theres a gigabyte gaming one for like 40 bux less. Same with an msi gaming one.
For 1440p tarkov, poe2 and tw warhammer3. I might give streaming a go too
>>
>>107339508
Buy the LG 32GX870A-B then.
The only better 4K 32" WOLED monitor would be the ASUS XG32UCWMG with a TrueBlack glossy panel finish over the matte on those LG monitors, but this isn't out yet in the US ($1099 MSRP, B&H taking preorders).
The matte panel is fine according to reviewers like Optimum Tech.

It's not worth paying full price for the XG32UCWMG, given it's using the same 3rd-gen WOLED display.
>>
>>107339563
Those cheaper motherboards are more than fine to power a 9600X or even a Zen 6 Ryzen 7 X3D chip in the future (for gaming).
>>

I've been trying to troubleshoot this issue for past 2 months and I'm still clueless.

Here are my specs:
- MOBO: GIGABYTE B550 GAMING X V2
- GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3090 GAMING X TRIO
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500
- PSU: Cooler Master MWE GOLD-V2 750W 80 Plus Gold

I bought brand new GPU in January 2024, been working it for on and off local Stable Diffusion as hobby and sometimes playing some games. Definitely not a heavy user though.

I started to notice issues in August this year when playing Witchfire couple of times the screen went black but computer was still running.

I tried to reconnect DP port as I saw "No signal from DP port" on my monitor but it didn't work.

Then I started to get this issue more frequently. I rolled back GPU drivers and it helped for some time.

Recently I've been getting consistent crash when trying to play "Ready or Not". I've been playing this game a lot and I've never ever had a complete PC crashes on it until like last month.

The Event Viewer and memory dumps were showing issue with nvlddmkm.sys and error message VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE. But I also saw some SVM errors and recently it's just 0x116_ANALYSIS_INCONCLUSIVE!unknown_function

What I've tried so far:
- Reseating GPU
- Using DDU and installing some older stable version of GPU drivers
- Changing different settings in BIOS like enabling/disabling SVM, disabling C-State, setting PCIe Slot Configuration to Gen3
- Changing CMOS battery

I've been talking with ChatGPT about this issue ever since and here are his recommendations:
- Try with different PSU bigger than 750W
- GPU sagging

My PSU has 1 cable with 2 PCI connectors on same cable. Could it be an issue?

Does anyone else ever dealt with this issue and have some ideas if this could be potentially either of these 2 that I listed?

I'm just surprised if it could be PSU issue as 750W is lowest recommended PSU for RTX 3090 and I've never had such issues before.

Not sure about GPU sagging, I ordered supporter and will test it on Friday.
>>
I need more M.2, are there any good deals coming up that anyone knows of? I could also use some SATA SSD

I thought I'd post in new thread for better visibility bro
>>
>>107339693
I see no reason to go more expensive. If im being honest the 16gb gpu is nice but probably even overkill. Im currently on a 3060ti and it does fine on medium settings. If i wanted to i could go down to 1080p and crank the settings to high and it would run fine. But yeah for 1440p you probably want a 16bg card for """future proofing""" (as if anything good is coming out in the near future)
>>
I just spent 2k on a new pc (for work stuff) but I cant think of a single game I actually want to play on it. Did anything actually come out in the last 7 years that made gamers excited for their overpriced GPUs?

Samsung makes 32" 4K QD-OLED with a matte panel finish if you prefer it.
But some of their monitors supposedly cause random black screens from time to time.

>Why would glossy ever be better?
Matte panel finish diffuses reflections better, but can cause grainy/hazy textures with less vibrant colors.
Matte panels can also raise black levels in bright ambient lights.
Pic shows critiques of LG's 1440p Tandem WOLED monitor with matte finish by a Chinese monitor reviewer.

I'm going for a top of the line chilled water cooling build, and I'm even going for a phase change cooling setup for the CPU. I have a budget of $10k (yes a lot). What is the best 5090ti that can take a custom loop? I live in Japan (but I can order from US suppliers w/o customs or tariffs).

With RAM being so high now, are there any other components affected too? Just because I have money to throw doesn't mean I want to give these kikes any whales either.
Also I assume now AMD is the top tier CPU, good because forever fuck Intel, they reap what they sow.

Here's a rough start

Case: https://www.ldcooling.com/shop/atx-hptx/43-ld-pc-v8-atx-hptx-watercoolig-pc-case-with-10-expansion-slots.html
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
GPU: Top of the line 5090ti so far I'm looking at the ASUS OEM, a closed loop is fine but I'd would prefer a open loop W/C.
Mobo: ? (fuck I miss EVGA) I have access to ML cards and a board that can use them would amazing.
Monitor: I really like LG's OLED, I plan on have two monitors (top and bottom) on movable arms.

Unrelated and this is probably a home server thread question where's a good place to get a good server rack preferably used?

>My PSU has 1 cable with 2 PCI connectors on same cable. Could it be an issue?

If you are using the cables that came with the PSU, you should be fine since they should have used a large enough gauge to handle the current. The issue with melting connectors is from the card's design itself and the connectors; not the wires.

But again, a properly engineered cable with two PCIe power connectors on the end should handle the what the PCIe connector rating is designed for.

I phoned up a retailer today and they said they only have what's in stock on the website, and they have no idea when they will get restocks. Said they can't even replace stock suppliers are not giving them anything close to an ETA. Guy literally told me only bother ordering ram now if you truly need it, really the moments passed.

It's gonna be grim in 2026, these prices are not coming down and stores are getting restocks god knows when. Seriously how though it's ram how can be a ram shortage they make so much fucking ram. In so many SKUs. It's so abundant the price was crashing and crashing and crashing. How can AI wipe out an entire fucking product line like this.

No, companies are now buying dram from the spot market, which is in contrast to the normal contracts through SK Hynix, Samsung, Micron Technologies, etc. I believe I already mentioned the spot markets. The contracts are full for 2026. Manufacturing is at full capacity and it's all spoken for. Go ask Sam Altman. He bought 40% of the worlds's dram for OpenAI.

Oh, and if no one's paying these prices, why are DDR5 kits going out of stock?

/pcbg/ I have a stoopid question.

My RTX 4070 Super uses a straight 12VHPWR connector but it's a 2x8 adapter, the older one type with longer sense pin and the new PSU has ATX 3.1 so 12VHPWR is on the PSU, no need to use the 2x 8-pin to 12VHPWR

But the PSU came with a 90 degree 12VHPWR cable. from what I see the only difference in the spec is on the GPU end, 3.0 and 3.1 both have the same pinouts, i think.

I need a short cable with the straight connector and most of these are like 60-70CM long, I need only about 30-40CM, and the ones I find are all ATX 3.0.

So - can I use an ATX 3.0 12VHPWR cable with my new ATX 3.1 PSU and the 4070s?

I love this mouse, have bought two of them and I can't see myself getting a different one anytime soon. It's a bit pricy but it's so worth it, a featherlight mouse is a game changer. https://a.co/d/gjZteMd

As far as keyboards go check out the keyboard general they can give you better advice. We would need to know what kind you are looking for there are lots of options. The generic answer is Keychron though. I have one of theirs and it's worked well. But there are tons on amazon for dirt cheap that are just fine as well. Just look up mechanical keyboards and grab some 50 dollar chink brand most of them will be fine if you aren't an enthusiast.
>>
>>107342867
You shouldn't be buying something less than a 5070 anyway
>>

on some 1080p titles maybe
you def would want to upgrade to am5 + x3d cpu but ddr5 prices discourage system upgrades rn

My 3080ti had desktop coil whine with corsair 800W. I RMA and got refund since it could not handle fullload spike when starting helldivers 2 and got C1200 NZXT and the coil whine was gone.
It came back again with this 5090 on desktop so I am not sure it's GPU or PSU.

1) 7600x + 5060ti 16gb fine for 1080p?
2) How good is dlss for 1080p?
3) How much do the ram timings and speeds really matter (both in games and outside of games) for ddr5?
4) Is 16gb enough (if I can even find it) or should I just get 32gb ram?
>>
>>107343023
you want cl30 for non-x3d cpus or you lose fps
cl36 is tolerable for x3d ones

1080p is pointless as upscaling is a thing, 5060 ti is best on 1440p
32gb ram is better
>>
>>107339286
What's the logic behind fan curves? I figured it would be best to set speeds as high with temps as low as tolerable to prevent them from needing to ramp up in the first place, but at regular intervals of a minute or so I still hear them ramp up for a couple seconds then immediately lower. I set step up/down times to as high as possible, of course. Should I intensify the curve even more or set the temps higher instead? What sort of patterns should I look for in benchmarks?

This is a brand new Cooler Master V750 SFX Gold ITX SFF Modular Power Supply, 750W 80Plus Gold, ATX 3.1 | 90° | PCIe 5.1, Designed Ready Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti | AMD RX 9070 XT power supply.

This thing better not have some shitty proprietary connector. ATX 3.0 and ATX 3.1 absolutely are published standards for the PSU connectors and that is why so many shitty chinesium glowie cables are made so that /pcbg/ dwellers can mount their GPUs wherever they want.

If I Google "12v-2x6 connector vs 12vhpwr" the AI says:

"There is no functional difference between 12VHPWR and 12V-2x6, as 12V-2x6 is simply a physical revision of the 12VHPWR connector designed to improve reliability. The changes are only on the GPU and some newer PSU sockets, not the cable itself. Existing 12VHPWR cables are compatible with 12V-2x6 sockets, but the new standard includes shorter sense pins and longer power pins on the device-side connector to ensure a more secure connection."

So the whole "The changes are only on the GPU and some newer PSU sockets" is what makes feel the /stoopid/

I'mma buy the cable and check the pinouts for myself then post back to amuse you randos.

Yeah, you have to find the balance, buy sounds like you probably need to extend your temp limit before fans ramp up, but may wind up finding it preferable to run a higher idle/low usage speed. It's generally better to note the average low operating temp and go with the flow instead of trying to force it to stay cooler though. Full/rendering/gaming load is different of course.

NTA but the Samsung 980 (forma básica) costs 2.5 times the price I paid for it back in 2023. I bought the 1TB variant for 55 euro, and now it costs 130+++ euro.
You COULD argue nobody's buying it at that price when the 990 Evo Plus is cheaper, but that IS the price stores are asking for it, objectively speaking.
Meaning I could probably try to sell it for profit despite having used it for 2.5 years.

For a 9800X3D/4090 build with a lot of peripherals in a large ATX case, which PSU:
>MSI MPG A1250GS (Cybenetics Platinum/A)
or
>be quiet! Pure Power 13 M 1000W (Cybenetics Platinum/A++)

Both are the same price ($110). The 1250W is used, but in very good condition, the 1000W is new. Not sure if the 1250W would be covered under warranty since it was purchased second-hand, and the build quality/expected longevity was called into question by Aris (Hardware Busters) due to the fact that it's relatively inefficient and has a fanspeed profile that prioritizes low noise over practical performance. On the other hand the 1000W has significantly shorter cables (50-100mm shorter than the equivalent cable for every single cable) but otherwise outperforms the 1250W in nearly every metric.

Alternatively, should I just keep the 850W PSU from my previous build? It's a 2019 or 2021 SeaSonic model that uses a SeaSonic-manufactured variant of the older PCIE to 12VHPWR connector. It had some hiccups with the 4090 initially, but has managed not to melt the connectors for the 3ish years I've been running it.

There's some comparatively cheap 96GB kits on my retailer. Should I get one of these instead of
>Kingston 64GB (2 x 32GB) FURY Beast, DDR5 6000MHz, CL30, 1.4V
for 440€?

128 kits are overpriced as fuck.
>>
>>107344899
The kingston cl30 has better ICs. Heatsinks are also better
>>
>>107344899
Actually since that's 96gb, it'd hold value much better so just get that IMO if you're never gonna use buildzoid's 6000cl30 ez timings
>>
>>107344647
The power connector thing is 99.9999999999% of the time incorrectly installed and not pushed in all the way. IE People are dumb or they are purposely doing it to make a video and post it. 100s of thousands of cards have been shipped and melting connectors is less then 200....

I had 2x 4090 systems that I ran nearly 24/7 for 2 years and no issues, I now have 2x 5090 systems that run nearly 24/7 and no issues... the cables don't even get hot.
>>
>>107344921
4090 averages 6.25A per wire. 5090 averages 8.33A leaving almost no room for variance.
>>

Almost any aftermarket cooler is fine for the 9800, but you might have to run the fans at a little bit higher speed than you would than with a Thermalright Whatever.

Would the timings really even matter? I'm going for a 9800X3D.

yeah it helps 1% lows quite a bit in cpu heavy games

Not really boss the 3d vcache makes up for it so you can just go with a cl32 6000MT kit just make sure it's compatible with your board before buying

Ram timings/speed is always important. People keep saying "it doesn't matter with X3D" but it clearly does. The only way you're getting locked Framerate on OLED TV today (120fps) is with tweaked ram. Expo default is dipping below 90.
>>
>>107345187
>but it clearly does.
theres tests that show ram impacts non-x3d amd cpus much more than intel or x3d cpus

>>

not rly since dram prices are insane and people buy cl36 because of much cheaper prices
>>
>>107345243
just slightly outdated. 4x48gb 6000cl30 is possible on specific ryzen setups these days

RAM speed matters on X3D just as much and it's just a myth peddled by iGPU peasants. I saw a massive difference on my 9800X3D with manual mem OC. You can expect up to 15-20% in CPU bound games especially RT games which love the extra bandwidth. Even if you play on 4k or 1440p panel, you're probably using DLSS quality, balance, performance, in other words it's now less than 4k or 1080p so CPU starts mattering more.

Is Corsair Vengeance 64GB RAM compatible with Asus Strix ROG B850-A mobo? I bought both in summer but haven't built yet.

>The 1000w sounds better in every way
It does, but paying the same price for a lower wattage unit was causing some second-guessing.
>shorter cables have lower resistance so you get less vdroop
That's good to know. I'd listed it as a "con" for the 1000W only out of concern for installation/connection in a larger case and hadn't considered the structural/technical value of shorter cables.
Thank you for your input, anon. Feeling much better about the buying the 1000W now.

its the lower latency that benefits x3d, not bandwidth. At 2000mhz, the IF cucks the bandwidth to single ccd zen4-zen5s to 64GB/s

Great you still need tuned ram to hit that 144fps 1%. Pbo isn't enough.

>>107345309
The adjusted subtimings improve bandwidth not just latency.

>>107345317
You discrediting RAM is why you're paying $400 for it today while us smart people only paid $80.

is there any game that your 2080 can't handle with some DLSS?
>>
>>107345609
DLSS isn't magic especially if you don't have access to DLSS4, I couldn't play E33 for example because DLSS3 in that game created some genuinely nauseating artifacts for me
In most games I'm more or less managing mid fifties on medium settings with DLSS nowadays but how good of an experience that is varies a lot

Is there anyone else with a 9800X3D willing to show their frame times? Basically been running around like a headless chicken because of my frame times being all over the place.
>>
>>107345644
All RTX series support DLSS4 upscaling (just not framegen) and you can force it in the Nvidia drivers on a per game basis.
It's an FPS loss on the same quality preset though, but you can do DLSS Balanced and get similar FPS and better quality than old DLSS Quality, for example.

>>107345309
higher IMC clock lowers latency as well
you're overclocking both the memory and the memory controller at the same time

peak bandwidth is an irrelevant metric

So I shouldn't buy OLED? It's over.
>>
>>107345822
Why would you buy OLED for an OS where 90% of the time you're looking at a static screen with only a few moving objects? Your task bar and browser GUI would burn-in after a few months.
>just hide them and use F11 lul
yeah and use a blank black wallpaper and hide my desktop icons too right? might as well take BLACK COCKS up your faggot OLED ass

Do you have an unknown device that failed to initiate in the device manager? If so try to power cycle for a minute or two or check if the WiFi is disabled in the bios setting for some reason.

My 7900XT currently gets very hot hotspots of up to 110C under load. I usually don't have major problems running games, but I want to do some basic GPU load thermal benchmarks for my GPU to assess its performance before and after changing its paste/pads out for better stuff. How safe is it to run Furmark or similar? How long should I do so? I don't need to assess long-term stability or whatever, just thermal performance before and after.
