is this kit for $300 worth it? https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-trident-z5-royal-series-48gb-ddr5-8000-cas-latency-cl40-desktop-memory-silver/p/N82E16820374638

>>107376664>Leaving copilot pinned to the taskbarGrim
>>107376682>>107376683Sorry I'm a dumb fuck and forgot to add context, A guy in fb marketplace is offering me this kit second hand for $300
Had this set up for about a week now. It's nice. I want to get a vertical GPU mount to give a bit more space between the CPU cooler and the GPU.Not sure what to put in the red space. Kinda weird it being empty like that.
>>107376581OCCT will tell you what you need to know>if your motherboard has the needed sensors of course
>>107376690AI is cool
I have a retarded idea, but I need my /g/ niggas to tell me just how retarded it is.With Open AI dropping a nuke on the DYI market, I'm thinking what if I get a laptop with good specs but with an integrated card with a massive Black Friday discount and then I get an used RTX as an external card?
>>107376706It's made with Hynix 24gbit m-die which does 6000cl28/30 so I'd say it's well worth getting
>>107376723AI is cool, Copilot is for jeets and faggots
>>107376723Agreed.
>>107376725you will hate yourself for it later>this is /pcbg/ after all
I think I made a mistake in buying a 5070 Ti. Turns out it's way too powerful for the kind of games I play, it's running everything in my library at 1440p144fps ultra. I hope at least the gpu crisis will continue for many years so my purchase will be justified lol I'm going to seethe if in a couple years GPUs will become cheap
>>107376735Microsoft put a lot effort into Azure.
>>107376793>I'm going to seethe if in a couple years GPUs will become cheapThat is never happening before your gpu becomes dust. Don't worry you made a good choice. Eventually you'll want more and it will be pushed to it's limits.
If I am swapping a 4070 for a 5070 do I need to DDU and reinstall drivers or not?
If I sit 60-70cm away from the screen, should I get a 27 inch monitor or 32 inch one?
>>107376848Definitely 27". 32" feels like shit if you sit any closer than 90cm.
>>107376834Need to? No. Should you? Always wise to.
>>107376848Definitely 32". 27" feels like shit if you sit any farther than 90cm>bigger is always better
>>107376581Depends on the PSUbut at the 10 year mark it needs to be marked for replacementt. used an EVGA 750G2 2015-2025, replaced it because my 5700xt's transient current spikes started causing crashes. If I'd had a weaker/less current spiky GPU (the 5700xt is one of the worst offenders for this) I could have gone on for maybe another 5 years.I replaced it with a 750w Super Flower Combat PSU I snagged for $60 cause the box was damaged in transit at some point.
does AIO water cooling have any noticeably lower noise than running a CPU fan? is it worth using if the GPU fans will be under load and making noise anyways? a 360mm AIO cannot fit in a case the size of a meshify 3, right?
>>107376932Since it's a more efficient way to transfer heat away from the CPU and that you have 3 fans to push air through the radiator, the fans can run at a lower speed and provide more cooling. This of course depends on the fan design and the quality of the radiator itself. But under full load, everything's going to run at high speed. Like during Cinebench. But for gaming, if that's what we're talking here, it won't reach full load.
Can anyone recommend a good free calendar program? I'm getting to the age where I am starting to forget important things. Almost forgot to pay the rent last month on time.
Should I buy Xiaomi G Pro 27i monitor for 250 euro? I know it has red tint issues (fixable) but as far as I can tell every other monitor in this price range has much worse issues, like ghosting and blur.
>>107377015.. for which operating system ..?
>>107377025Winblows 11
>>107377025Doesn't need to be a calendar perse, just need something so I could set a note for something I need to do and it would pop up a reminder the day of.

>>107376664what does your kikesoft shilling have to do with pc building?
>>107377030can setup Google Calendar and have it send reminders and stuff but it's not the best UI on a PC. at least it's free. if you use the Windows Store know that Microsoft To-Do can do recurring reminders but it's not a calendaring app. idk about the free calendar apps on the store as most seem to have stuff you don't need.else have a look for something free on sourceforge:https://sourceforge.net/directory/productivity/windows/?q=calendarhttps://sourceforge.net/directory/reminder/windows/etc.>i hang my calendar on the wall and write on it in pencil because i hate technology
>>107377015>>107377030>>107377054OneNote perhaps?
Anyone have any experience doing a matx build in a smaller case? I'm interested in having a smaller and more portable system, but would like to know what the temp differences are or reasons not to.
>>107377145>>107377176Thanks appreciate the effort I'll check those out.
>>107377054Microsoft To-Do in the Store would work for that.
>>107377020The Xiaomi seems to not be able to automatically switch Local Dimming on when you change to HDR. Seems like an inconvenience to me.
>>107376812>Microsoft put a lot effort into Azure.
>>107376932I have 360mm aio and under full load the difference between fans at 0 and fans at 100% is like 2 degrees, so I'm going to go ahead and say yes.
>>107377212Actually that looks perfect thanks.
>>107377208Not to cut any Gordian Knots, but I was horrible at remembering bills. I set EVERYTHING other than credit cards on autopay. And the only reason I don't set those up is I pay everything off early to avoid interest. Of course, you have to be good with your money and not live paycheck to paycheck.

Monitor shopping feels like just picking the least worst option while navigating FUD
Pulled the trigger on a 9060XT. Fuck Nvidia. Thing runs great so far.
>>107377326maybe the shop i visited had little to no options but they demoed the one 1440p display they had and i walked out w/ it after 5 min lol
>>107377326That's why I just buy used monitors and flip them for a higher price than I bought them for if I don't like them lol
>>107377326It's tough because you generally can't go to a brick-and-mortar store and see them all lined up to compare.
>>107377326OLED TVs are where it's at, but most people don't want a 42in screen on their desk.
>>107377335It's a good card. At least the 16gb version. I bought a Gigabyte Gaming OC and it has plenty of headroom for overclocking. Boosting memory made a huge difference to an already good result.
>>107377351Yeah AMD sucks for doing the 8GB version but their drivers work good now.
>>107377361It's very power efficient, too. And, with triple fans, even overclocked, it never went past 55c in Time Spy. On a single 8-pin connector.
>>107377372I just got the double fan version. I was hesitant because the first time I tried an AMD card, it was a shitshow and I had to return it. But Nvidia has been such a cunt lately and their driver updates are actually reducing performance by generational gaps now. Of course, things have been so shitty that a generational gap is like 5% but still.
>>107376723>>107376739Personally, I stop myself from looking at such pictures, god forbid start generating them, because I want to remain outside the please box for a little while longer. Once you go in, there's no going out.
how shit is 1080p scaling on a 1440p monitor? enough to care?>>107377326for real
What budget air cooler should I get for my new 14600k? I got a budget motherboard so I'm not able to OC the CPU. I was going to just get the cooler master hyper 212 black edition but it seems that is not very good? What would be a better alternative?
>>107377473Thermalright peerless assassin or something - GamersNexus just put out a video of the best CPU coolers of 2025 that you should watch too.
>>107377473The 212 was on sale for $10 today, probably that. But if you missed it, I don't know. Most of the chink shit is pretty good these days if you don't mind spending $30+.
What's the best optional component you can buy for a setup?
>>107377450>how shit is 1080p scaling on a 1440p monitor? enough to care?Yeah, it doesn't scale as nicely as 720p because of math. 4K is better if you're going for 1080p scaling.
>>107377473Thermalright Peerless Assassin is like $35. But for $20 more, they have a 360mm AIO which is absolutely better at cooling.
>>107377495SSD, if you're one of the few retards still building only with mechanical drives. I guess a CPU cooler or bottom-mounted cases fans for you GPU. If you're just looking to waste money, buy a nice mouse with a shape you like. Most sensors are pretty close that it just doesn't really matter anymore.
>>107377495Cable extensions. They're like $20 and make a huge difference in the appearance.
Lol, fuck cable management, such cancer unless you do custom cables. And I already use the Asus AP201.Tomorrow I am just gonna squelch all cables on he back and hide it the best I can, total mess. Gonna be shit when I have to unklug something. But hey, as long as the main facade is kept clean…

I somehow found two 420mm radiators at a thrift store for dirt cheap and I'm trying to put them in my setup. What's the best value reservoir and pump? I think a combo is the cheapest option, but are individual components more reliable? The radiators are gonna restrict flow a ton, and I don't want to end up with a dead pump.
>>107377543Retro but based, I still use a 3080 in my living room PC.
Anyone know what thumb panel screws work with the meshify 3? It doesn't come with any and I don't trust the case to hold when doing a move
>>107377661It's my secondary PC, mated to a 5700x3d. It handles everything other than serious heavy lifting quite well.
>>107377685>Screws sold separatelyFractal may be the most jewish case company of all time
>>107377699It has some latching mechanism that works if you're keeping it stationary and need easy access. Just from handling it, I would want the screws in place, which they atleast have the holes for
>$500 cpu>$3000 gpu>$100 motherboard
I'm on a MSI B350 Tomahawk. I know it's severely outdated but AM5 is getting expensive, so I would like to get an extra two to three years out of it if possible. Will there be a problem going from a Ryzen 5 1600 + GTX 1060 6gb setup to a 5600 + 5060 Ti 16gb for 1080p, or are there compatibility issues with the board to be aware of?
>>107377719Don't forget the $700 ram!!
>>107376581OEM PSU in my optiplex is 14 years old no i'm not replacing it it just werks
>>107377719Optimal performance desu
>>107377685They have industrial version of plastic wrap. You can go around the PC a few times, then top to bottom a few times and you'll be fine for a move, plus add another layer of protection. And, it comes off easy.
>>107377500>4K is better if you're going for 1080p scaling.how does it look? just right or a bit soft?
>>107376793>it's running everything in my library at 1440p144fps ultrakek too many people buy that card thinking it's gonna struggle with 1440p for some reasonso many would have been perfectly 100% fine with a 5070 if that was the caseeither way if you bought a 5070 it's so you can play at 4K or at least skip a generation or two outFalling for the vram meme just means nvidia pockets an extra $300 for $30 of vram at the time.
My thermal paste gushed out when tightening down the cooler grills, am I fucked?
If I took out my 4070 to clean the fans do I need to DDU and reinstall drivers?
>>1073777831440p would be a 1.77:1 ratio to 1080p while 4K is exactly 4:1. So, 4 pixels instead of...sorta... averaging 1 and 3/4 pixels... kinda... maybe.
>>107377801Doesn't matter, don't worry about it.
>>107377802No
>>107377801Thermal paste is non-conductive. Don't worry.
>>107377719Can't forget the $35 on a 3000rpm cooler big savings there!
