discountanon, do you have discounts for alibaba?does anyone know how to get better discounts on alibaba? bc i need to buy there so i can put it as a business expense...i am buying a thermal camera and some measurement stuff
>>107262740The gloves arrived.XL was the perfect fit for my hand size. And the gloves are very high quality, a good deal for the 25 euro I paid. The only problem is they advertise this as winter gloves, but when I drive at +40 km/h and above, the gloves have a huge ventilation went at the top, it lets in cold air that fucks up my body temperature.I need to figure out a way to block this ventilation.
These livestream credits have me delaying my purchase right until the credit expiry deadline
>>107383426I have a solution
>>107383426Herbiker brand jacket. Is also very high quality, it feels the same as whatever winter jackets you can find in clothes shop.If I remove the thermal liner the jacket is thin and suitable for summer time.2 zipper pockets, 1 inner zipper pocket.2 air intakes at chest, can be closed with zipper.2 air exhause on the back, also has zippers.Shoulder armor foam and elbow armor foam looks good, they will do the job.Cons: the big backplate armor is completely fucked up because the factory just rolls up the jacket into a plasticbag when they ship to you, now the backplate armor twist and bend in a weird way and it's uncomfortable when it press into my back. I have 3 options.-Give it some time to let the foam reshape.-Replace it with another back armor.-Remove it entirely, since I don't really need back armor. all of my e-scooter crashes have been me landing sideways into the road. But at 47 Euro this jacket is a steal and actually makes the gloves look extremely overpriced.
Got replacement for my broken OnePlus 11 phone screen, only 20€ on aliexpressI had some difficulties due to fragments of the old broken screen sticking to the frame of the phone and being hard to remove, but even just following a pajeet tutorial it was overall pretty easyNow i just need to be careful because im not sure the screen properly settled in, since the glue from the original screen is mostly goneAlso the screen doesnt seem as good of a quality or image definition as the original but i guess thats to be expected
Checking again, are Black Friday sales over? Everything seems to be Cyber Monday now
>>107383426i personally gave up on chink gloves and got some good used winter gloves for 40€ from a guy who got the wrong size, never looked back
The pant also arrived.>>107383706I thought about buying pants and jacket from same brand, but the herobiker pants only have armor at the knee, they don't have armor on the side of your hips, this is the place you will be injured the most when you crash sideways.XL gloveXL jacketL pants, fit my build perfectly, the knee armor is placed right where it should be placed.at 49 Euro, this is also a steal compared to the gloves. So I brought the pants from Riding Tribes instead. They are excellent, no apparent flaws.2 pockets with zippers.2 knee armor.2 hipside armor.also has thermal liner like the jacket
>>107383816>40€KEK overpriced as fuck.>>107383517Wouldn't it be better with some sort of vax?
>>107383849>KEK overpriced as fuck.its pretty cheap as far as riding gear goes

>>107382978>>107382944>>107383098I think the problem for me is that this wouldn't be my one and only keyboard. I have a laptop so I'd be switching and using the keyboard on that. Plus other devices. It's just friction. If you use a keyboard every day, I'd probably say the extra cost is worth eliminating that friction, but then at the same time I'm a cheapass that doesn't want to spend too much so eh. I probably would get used to a US layout.. But I would feel defeated everytime I have to type a @ or ". >>107382987Thank you anon. It's annoying how close those are to perfection. I would be willing to up my budget if it's worth it but it seems hard to find any let alone ones within budget
any recommendations for sunglasses? i lost my old pair, it was the cheap ones they sell at decathlon. i didn't like them too much, they felt a bit too big on my face, although maybe that was just my impression. they had a tiny removable plastic cover to protect the sides from clarity and reflections on the snow but i lost it after few days. even without it they were ok, although i noticed the glare from the sides and below when there was lots of snow
>>107383871>I think the problem for me is that this wouldn't be my one and only keyboard. To be fair it isn't for me either. My pc keyboard is US layout (with eurkey) but my tablet and laptop keyboards are german layout. I just set them to eurkey anyways which is close enough when touch typing that I don't really mind, but I'll freely admit it's not ideal. If you already know it'll make you angry, pay the premium and look for one in the layout you're used to.
>>107383983Yeah I reckon I willTbh I'm suffering from analysis paralysis anywayThere are so many options that if I just tell myself I only want ISO UK it limits a lot and makes it easier to pick one. But then I see a US layout keyboard for like $20 with individualised lighting, a volume knob and lcd screen and get very tempted. Maybe one day. I just don't know if I'd be able to adjust, probably would but if I don't then I'd hate to waste the money. I thought with mechanical keyboards I'd just be able to change some keycaps and make the keys do what I want them to within software to make it as close as possible to UK and to have my easy £ sign, and my cute " on the 2
>>107384094>Tbh I'm suffering from analysis paralysis anywayAs someone who falls into that trap regularly, here's what you want to pay attention to:- Types of switches. There's the colors, which mostly are differentiated by linear or non-linear, and how loud they are. These will be the most important thing for how it feels and sounds. Usual advice is linear if you care most about gaming performance, non-linear if you care more about typing.- Brand of switches. Different brands have different levels of prestige. If you ask me, don't worry about it. The difference between cherry and gatereon etc is there, but it's overstated. - Layout. You can't really change the keycaps the way you thought about it, because they are differently sized. If it's the same size key and you want to switch stuff around, it'll work. But the switch for a key is in the middle of the keycap, so you can't physically move the layout around, unless the switched keys are the same size.- Hot swap. Nice-to-have, not worth paying much for. Makes replacing switches easier if you have no soldering skills, but they last so long it'll probably not matter. If you ever change your mind though you can easily switch keys with hotswap keyboards.- backlight. If you want RGB or loathe it, get something that fits your opinion. All the other shit is unimportant. I got myself a keychron C2 as a sort of "let's see if mechanical keyboards are for me" a long time ago when those were still very cheap and have seen 0 reason to upgrade since. US layout though, so sadly not something I can recommend. >But then I see a US layout keyboard for like $20 with individualised lighting, a volume knob and lcd screen and get very tempted. Probably shit switches if they aren't mentioned at that price. LCD screens are gimmicks. Volume knob is nice, but ask yourself if that's actually important to you. Same for individualized lighting - when will you actually use that?
>>107384094Can you touch type or not?You can still use the UK layout on an ANSI keyboard, only issue is you'll be missing one physical key. I personally gave up having the labels on my keyboard match what I type years ago. There's a nifty feature on some keyboard called QMK and the via software that lets you remap keys so that you don't need to mess with different layouts in the OS. Personally I sacrified one key I never use for that missing key and I just type with my local european layout on an ANSI keyboard.Bigger keyboard selection, easier to find keycaps, etc. Finding a keyboard with QMK support was still easier than one with ISO layout.
are there any wireless keyboards with bt but also wired mode that aren't expensive?
>>107384611Basically all chink mechanical keyboards at this pointThey all advertised BT, 2.4GHz wireless, and wired
I bought one of these a recently so that I can automatically and immediately have a backup of pictures I load from an SD card to my laptop. While the card reader and USB ports work perfectly fine, I have a problem with the m.2 slot. In fact, I have the same problem with a different nvme enclosure from IcyBox: It doesn't work with the ext4 filesystem. The device will reliably disappear from the host after copying some large-ish amount of data. This does not happen if I format it with ntfs, in which case I can write hundrets of gigabytes without problems. It also happens with an m.2 sata sdd I had lying around. What's going on here? Is it possible they just use the same broken controller? Are Linux users getting cucked again? There's close to zero information online about similar problems.
>>107384638ok, is there any good one that's not expensive?I can only find stuff that's like 30-50 bucks.
>>107384697Found this one anyone know anything about it? 20 bucks is a good price in my mind. I only ever bought membrane keyboards that were half that at most. and they lasted a decade.https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyNbLoM
>>107384759It's perfectly serviceable.A few of my friends use them.
>>107384759>membrane keyboards that were half that at most. and they lasted a decade. These shits were the best thing ever.Litterally immune to hair and dust cluttering which constantly fuck up mechanical keyboard. We had no idea how good we had it back then with cheapass keyboards that were indestructible. These days I have to deal with laptops with hyped up mechanical keys that break down after a year.
>>107384854wait what? mechanicals break from dust and hair?that's not gonna work... I have dust and long hair, it will get everywhere
>>107384907Only if you're a slob or if you throw it inside a backpack full of lint or something.Just dust it like once or twice a year and you should be fine.I have cats and I'm a hairy guy and I never had any problems.

>>107385103Feels better (subjective; all sorts of feels)Sounds better (subjective; all sorts of sounds)Easy to hotswap an individual switch (nowadays)
>>107384854you can just get a membrane keyboard by a good brand like cherry and it will feel very good even if its membranethe problem is when you get the bottom of the barrel stuff and you cant even press 3 keys at once

another question about keyboards.how fucked is it to not have F Keys and numpad and even arrow keys?not many things need it but still. sorry me older games like Deus ex would be unplayable without the f Keys
>>107385514You've answered that yourself.
>>107385543just feels cucked.I guess that's the price for having it cost 20 bucks and not 60.are red china switches very loud?

It's only good if you're pushing product. a product should just work. why should i need to be buying parts all the time and doing repairs on it. especially for a critical tool that is a keyboard. who is stopping randomly like. one sec, bossman. i gotta service my mechanical keyboard. meanwhile decades old membrane keyboards are right there.the whole thing sounds like manufactured problems to create a market for product that was otherwise solved a long time ago. it's all a meme, right. it has to be. same with gaymen mice. i tried to justify it to myself during this sale. these two things, these fancy mouse and keyboard. i couldn't do it. my microsoft mouse from the same combo product still works fine 10 years in. the switches have not failed. the battery lasts months. only thing is i had to clean the mouse wheel sensor once. and the skates are pretty worn but it still works fine.
>>107385722Retard.>what feels? nobody can ever explain with actual wordsThere's literally hundreds if not thousands of different switches with different tactility, not to mention the rest of the keyboard (gaskets, mounting etc), that's why nobody will tell your autistic ass how it feels, because they all feel different.>i like the low profile of chicletsJust like you can like something, people have this cool ability of liking things as well.>Soundssame as the feels thing, I have silent switches myself.>hotswap>how is this a positive?Because of all of the above. And unlike a membrane keyboard that you have to throw the whole thing into the bin once anything on the board fails, hotswappable keyboards let you change just one switch if that one happens to fail.
>>107385722>there's literally millions of words and complex grammar but nobody can ever elaborate other than some nebulous concept of feelsThere are words like "creamy" and shit, but it won't mean anything to you if you have never experienced this type of switch. I don't doubt that it'll break eventually, it's not made to be bulletproof, but for the price it's genuinely a good deal. Fully automatic is also a feature I didn't know I gave a shit about until I had it. Pretty convenient honestly.
>>107388606I got a pcie card which lets me turn my pc on and off using google assistant/amazon echo, etc
I don't need it but I need itprobably doesn't even work with paper but it's just $10...
>>107394530Whats with the german flag
>>107394372NTA but thanks, I forgot I wanted one. Looks sturdy/well-made for the price. It's also 8 frames instead of 12 but not sure whether that makes a significant difference.
>>107394842I got it because I needed one more item for the bundle, so I really didn't have high expectations for it, all things considered. It's definitely sturdier than your average cheap sheet metal fin umbrella, but in the end, it's still not made for eternity.Given the price it's about as good as it can be I'd say.Small enough for easy carrying, large enough to not be useless when opened, sturdy enough to survive being in my bag, light enough that I don't notice when it is in that bag.Only two words of warning:- The sleeve is somewhat tight, they really didn't want to spend even a 100th of a cent on more fabric kek. Just get the top into the sleeve, then twist it a little and it slips in easily.- Automatic means you have to expand the energy for both opening and closing when you charge it by pressing it together. As a result it's harder than any semi automatic umbrella. Well worth the tradeoff, but worth knowing.I mean it's so cheap, I'd say get it and worst case it's a backup, I probably will get a spare one just in case this one breaks, it's part of my edc in my backpack at this point, for those unexpected afternoon rains you sometimes run into.
>>107394738Chinks might want buyers to think it's german made, like with "swiss" tools that aren't swiss at all
>>107394738After WW2 germany rapidly industrialized again and as part of that they made cheap products in mass (by european standards of the time). At the same time, these products were decent in quality. Not great, but pretty good for the price. As a result and paired with that meme of german efficiency and loving rules inherited by prussia and the third reich, "made in germany" became a sign of great quality. Because it was also cheap, it appeared on a lot of items and became part of the zeitgeist.Boomers especially equate "made in germany" with "high quality".These days it kinda is true even because german products can't compete with chinese ones in price, so most pivoted to quality and specialist needs. Then again some also just live off their historically good name.Anyways the chinese want to make people think they are selling high quality shit by showing "made in germany" or a german flag. Usually it's not made in germany of course, and either a scam or "designed in germany" (a common attempt to invoke the quality association without the production cost).I don't know why I typed all this out. Subscribe for more information you didn't ask for.
>>107394372What kind of sorcery did you use to get it for 3€?

Plastic frame but feels heavy due to the aluminum plate in the bottom. Sounds nice, types nice, and the volume knob is very handy. I'd recommend.

>>107396071I have no suggestions, but I'd be interested too, especially for a reasonable price.I have a cheap-ish one (which wasn't cheap because I got it during that covid zoom craze) and the dynamic range of that thing is utter shit, such that my face is always blown bright white or so dark you can't see shit unless I have all blinds closed and a very specific lighting setting in my room.A fairly priced camera with a decent dynamic range and low noise would be great.

I suppose I could do that on my PC too, but then I'd have to log into the various sites and the apps on the phone just seem more convenient. If I get a new phone I can make use of my old one though, so I'll keep it in mind.
>>107394320>>107394372Since we're on the topic of umbrellas, I've always toyed with the idea of getting one of those transparent umbrellas for the blade runner aesthetic. Last time I got a transparent umbrella was at some tourist trap in spain years ago when it started raining unexpectedly and that piece of shit broke during the walk home after buying it however. I'm aware that transparent plastic is a shit material to make an umbrella skin out of, but how bad is it really? Are there versions that don't suck major ass? Especially the folding ones. I might be willing to overpay and accept less lifetime for that transparency if it's within reason.
I'm feeling fancy so instead of buying a normal usb c cable or even a "premium" braided cable I'm looking for a silicone one. Specifically a 240w silicone usb c to usb c cable that's 2m long. I've found a couple but naturally you can't trust Chang's specs so I'm unsure. The "expensive" one is by a brand called Orico which fits my criteria but can also do 20gbps which is nice. The other doesn't seem to have a brand but is sold by Zuidid store. So my question is have any of you heard of or tried these brands before? Any other suggestions? Should I get a cheap usb tester anyway to verify if I've been scammed? Anker recommendations need not apply.

>make order yesterday with 25% cashback>leave it unpaid >check same item today>go to checkout>it's £5 cheaper at checkoutThe item price hasn't changed at all, I really don't get this sometimes. >>107393077>chinked
>>107397186>Should I get a cheap usb tester anyway to verify if I've been scammed? The cheap usb testers will only measure power, not data rate. Also at the high end like 240W, you'll want to double check it can handle that. That's a lot of energy.
Should i buy a xiamoi 24 bones umbrella for 7€, do more bones = better?
>>107397505More bones = more sturdybut also more weight and bulkier.Though I still remember when my umbrellas used to be boneless.
>>107397475Yeah I know you need to get get a FNB58 or ideally a Power-Z to actually read the e-marker to check the cable is capable of fast data speeds. Even then there can be some underhanded Chinese trickery where they falsify the emarker readings to say usb 4 or whatever when really it can only do usb 2 speeds. I'm not worried about speed anyway really, it would just be a nice bonus. The rated wattage on the other hand is important so I figure 15 dollars on an atorch AT085 might be worth the investment. Costs more than the damned cable but I guess I can use it to test future purchases. You're right about the 240w, I'm not running anything close to that usage yet so it should be fine but I'll be paying close attention to how warm the cable gets.
>>107397588>The rated wattage on the other hand is important so I figure 15 dollars on an atorch AT085 might be worth the investment. Costs more than the damned cable but I guess I can use it to test future purchases.Sounds reasonable. I have a HiDance HDC-085C, which claims up to 50V, 12A, so 600W, but crucially it doesn't specify the wattage on the device itself, so knowing the chinese who knows if it'll not get hot and destroy itself at actually 600W and they'd hide behind some "these are peak values and you can either reach peak voltage or peak current but not both dear" bs kek. Only cost me 4€ though, so that's nice.>Costs more than the damned cable but I guess I can use it to test future purchases.Given how opaque the USB-C cable standard is (partially their fault, partially the fault of chinese sellers lying), I think a tester is always good to have honestly. It won't catch all the trickery you can come across (like spoofed signals as you said, or those fucking "USB-C charging cables" where only gnd and 5V pins are connected) but at least you can tell if it supports PD and a reasonable wattage.

>>107397766>>107397710nvm I misread your post and thought it said it has never been an issue for you. Ignore my retardation.
>>107397678My personal theory for the USB standard disaster is that the engineers designing it know the technology inside out and expect the end user to either know it too or have the engineer mindset where if you don't know something you look at the docs/data sheets.Meanwhile your average normie will just intuitively expect usb 4 to be faster than 3 which in turn would also be faster than 2.

>buy rosary from monastery on vacation a while back>checking aliexpress, see the exact same rosary for $1bruh
>>107397932In their defense I'm actually quite a big simp for the USB-C standard. It's a great technological feat, it's robust and it does a shitton of things well. The core issue is one of requirement definition.Forcing them to make one cable that does it all AND at the same time due to economical pressure making capabilities of that cable optional/the producer gets to decide how many features they want to support was never going to work. It's too opaque for the average normie and too contrary to the business reality where paying substantial overhead for features you don't need was never practical. The one thing I will blame them for was that there isn't a more unified way to label the cables, like forcing them to write on one plug a code that can be read (or fuck it even a QR code) that explicitly states power, data and protocol supports. Sure some cheap cables wouldn't bother or copy paste a wrong code, but most would probably comply and it'd make the issue so much less bad.

>>107398340Check your email about something with 20% cashback from pay later. If you don't have it, you can go to Rewards on paypal and save the apparel cashback, which is 20% as well, but has limit of 20%. Aliexpress for some reason gets marked as apparel.
>>107395149He mentioned bundle so I assume the additional discount based on the number of items ordered. It's no longer part of bundle deals on my end oddly. Maybe Chang removed it.
>>107398168I've never gamed on it. The only thing I use for games is a chinkheld (rg40XXV). >>107397932> the engineers designing it I’m pretty sure that there were no engineers involved in the design process for USB-C. No engineer in their right mind would design a port and plug that always looks the same but has no indication of what the fuck it actually does. I’ve got 3 usb C ports on my laptop, but only one accepts power in. That one also does PCI-e for the docking station. So it’s almost a thunderbolt, but not quite. I could get a monitor that’s driven by USB C, it might also charge my laptop but it also might not. I can plug my phone to that monitor, but it’ll just ignore the monitor part. I can plug my phone charger into my laptop but it’ll completely ignore it, even when powered off. It’s utterly retarded. What's the best chinglish brand name you've seen? Cuktech makes me laugh because unlike a lot of companies who just throw a bunch of consonants together with a few vowels hoping it sounds western, cuktech actually had some thought put into it. Apparently there's a buck-boost converter called the cuk converter (pronounced chook). Anyone have experience with cheap calipers? I have never used one so I have no idea what to look for. I'm measuring things that are 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm thickness so they kinda need to be precise. I've looked at Amazon and they range from $10-$100. Apparently iGaging is a decent brand for hobbyist but it's like $60
>>107406716Sure, it's actually quite easy. There's 4 types worth buying.>Plastic digital calipers from the bundle section (2-3€)These work with a PCB that has contacts in regular intervals internally and is entirely made from plastic. They'll last you a year or two, then the LCD will likely break. Accuracy isn't great, but we're talking +- .2 mm as a rough estimate, maybe .1mm, so for your case that's probably enough. For 3D printing, they work fine. The two big advantages is they are cheap (2-3€) and the plastic case means it won't scratch stuff you measure.>Stainless digital calipers that are unbranded (~10-15€)Like the cheap ones, but with a stainless body. Internally they work the same, but the LCD is usually better. Don't store them in a place with high moisture or the battery pins might corrode, but other than that they'll last a few years, certainly longer than the cheap ones. 15-20$ though and not any more accurate than the cheap ones. ONLY get them over Shahe if you get a really good deal.>Analog calipers (14-20€)These work analog with a big dial. They're fully stainless and about as accurate as the digital ones, if not slightly more (Assume still .1mm or so). Big advantage is no batteries to replace (think ~twice a year for digital ones, or more depending on use) or electronic parts to break. Downside is they have more resistance for large measurements, as you have to engage the internal mechanism. I got some of these for 14€ with coins.>Shahe digital calipers (17-25€)Think of them the same as the stainless digital calipers, except shahe is a trusted brand and they come with a calibration certificate. Well worth it if you need them for professional measurements and want to be sure they are calibrated, overkill for anything else. The premium you pay is for that calibration QC. So I'd say get the cheap plastic bundle ones, see if they are fine (likely they are) for your usecase. If you notice you use them a lot upgrade to one of the other 3.

>>107406716the cheapest most dogshit digital calipers are pretty much accurate to .1mm.tons of videos online of people comparing them and you pretty much don't need a good one unless you're making something that's going to outerspace on a government contract.
>>107406716The cheapest 2 dollar plastic calipers will be accurate to 0.1mm. Fancier metal 15 dollar cheap calipers will be accurate to 0.01mm. Neither will last more than a few months without draining the battery, so take it out after you use it. You have to pay 100 bucks for calipers if you want them to come with an actual off switch.
>>107406800>>107406810>>1074068130.1mm sounds a big difference to me. I'm measuring old thermal pads on consoles and some pads are 2mm, but because of shrinkage it might go down to 1.6mm. If it's a 0.1mm that 1.6mm pad might turn into a 1.5mm pad and I might use the wrong one.I think I'll buy some metal ones then. Thanks.
>>107406871It's not a big difference. For thermal pads, you should always buy the smallest possible pad for the application. Thermal pads have dogshit heat conductivity, that's why the thermal paste on your CPU gets clamped in place to make it as thin as possible.
>>107406871In that case get the Shahe or the analog ones.Analog ones are a bit risky as some come broken and you have to manually calibrate them (you can adjust the zeroing).Alternatively you can get analog ones (as in without a dial) locally from a western brand, but they'll cost a lot more if you want accurate ones and non-dial is a bit harder to read (but you get used to it)
>>107406809bank of temu
>>107406887>It's not a big difference. From what I read online using wrong sizes can either damage the console or if using a smaller thickness pad it will not make proper contact to the metal housing.Fuck, I wish my console was properly documented.
>>107406894>$200Yeah. I don't want to spend that much on a hobby.
>>107406934I mean, are you really worrying about spending an extra dollar on some thicker pads if you're not sure? They're probably going to be flattened anyway after being stuck in the same spot for decades.
>>1074068710.1mm on a thermal pad is a fucking rounding error, are you retarded?they are literally made to squish into the right size with a huge margin of error.
>>107406971Absolutely reasonable, but that's kind of the deal you have to make. You either get decent accuracy with a risk of shit QC for cheap from china, or marginally accuracy but with great QC and guaranteed accuracy from the west for a shitton of money.I kinda forgot to mention that the shahe calipers (and some of the better stainless calipers) use a wheel to measure distance rather than PCB traces. Versions that do that CAN be more accurate, but that depends all on the sensor, they can also be dogshit. I'd still go for it personally though.
>>107406991>>107407000Using thicker pads can change the pressure equation which might or might not damage the console. I don't want to take that risk and want to do this properly.Too thick of a pad and it might damage the console.Too thin of a pad then it might run hotter than normal.

>>107407058yeah you're retarded.is your console made out of breadcrumbs?0.1mm of extra thermal pad isn't going to break your PCB in half even if it were made out of breadcrumbs.the ENTIRE POINT of a thermal pad is that it's a flexible option to attach heatsinks to chips with high tolerances. they aren't going to pay a human to sit there and measure every chip and machine a heatsink to sit on top of it perfectly. hell, even the fact that they're using thermal pads on it means that chip in particular doesn't need to be perfectly cooled.

>>107407136>0.1mm of extra thermal padThermal pads comes in 0.5mm increments.Using a 1.5mm when you're supposed to use a 2mm can make a big difference for thermals.Using a 2mm when you're supposed to use a 1.5mm can damage components. If I'm measuring an old thermal pad, and a cheap caliper tells me it's 1.6mm then I'm going to assume it's a 2mm thermal pad because time and heat is going to shrink them. But because of a 'rounding error' that 1.6mm might actually be a 1.4mm and it's actually supposed to be a 1.5mm.>they aren't going to pay a human to sit there and measure every chip and machine a heatsink to sit on top of it perfectly. That's why they have machines and a team of engineers doing it and designing the console and when to use a 1.5mm pad or a 2mm pad.

>>107407299i don't know if you jest but rakuten has two options, "Big Fat Check" (cash in the mail) and paypal. but both ask for an address. of course putting a fake address for Big Fat Check you get fucked but Paypal should be just a digital money transfer, no need for you to physically be at the address this wasn't the case years ago last I used rakuten why make shit more complicated
>>107407357>i don't know if you jest but rakuten has two options, "Big Fat Check" (cash in the mail) and paypalLmao I was joking because the concept of sending cash in the mail seemed insane to me. My bad if they actually do that I suppose kek.The way I see it, what do you have to lose? They probably need it for tax/accounting reasons.Either they detect a mismatch in your browser/request/purchase location and they lock it, or they don't and you get the money. If they don't, you come out net positive. If they do, you didn't really lose anything because an asset you can't liquidate is worthless anyways.Slim chance in a few years from now your country gets it and you remain locked, but your call if that's worth waiting for.
>>107407310Okay, you're not understanding what I mean.Let's say I open up a PS3 and it has different thickness thermal pads. I know thermal pads only comes in 0.5mm increments. So it's either using 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm or 2mm.I use a caliper to measure one of the thermal pads, it reads out as 1.6mm. There are NO 1.6mm thermal pads and since it's larger than a 1.5mm then I can safely assume that it used to be a 2mm pad. Heat and time shrinks these pads and they never go up in thickness over the years. I am not rounding to 2mm. I am saying it's 2mm because I measured a 1.6mm pad which is bigger than a 1.5mm pad, and since the next increment is 2mm I assume it's 2mm.But here's my problem, if that 1.6mm measurement is wrong and it's actually 1.4mm then I can assume it's EITHER 1.5mm OR 2mm. 2mm don't ever shrink that much so there's a good chance it's actually a 1.5mm pad.>do you have eyeballs? can you not see if a 1.5mm thermal pad is not making contact? can you not feel that something is resisting being overtightened too much if you are using a 2mm thermal pad when it was designed for a 1.5mm pad? When putting stuff back together you can't do a visual check on these things.
>>107407310>0.5mm of extra thermal pad is just going to be squished to fit the gap it needsNot that guy, but this is so wrong. Look at thermal pad replacements for GPUs. They always say to use the right size thickness of thermal pads. Too thin and it won't make contact to the cooler and too thick and you'll bow and bend the PCB, potentially damaging it.
>>107407425take your 2mm pad and compress it to 0.5mmand then compress your 1.5mm pad to 0.5mmthe force exerted by either of the two are not going to crush your PS3's ram modules to dust.thermal pads are made to be compressed, they are an imperfect solution to save manufacturing costs. please understand the concept of tolerances.or just stop responding to my posts and go buy a space grade $160 caliper to measure a squishy object.
>>107407357When does it transfer money to Paypal? Is quarterly or is that only for physical checks in the mail? Their site is confusing or I'm stupid. Maybe both.
>>107407482i can understand undersizing it causing it to thermal throttle because of it straight up not functioning, but show me one graphics card that was absolutely destroyed by 0.5mm of too much thermal pad.PCB's are tougher than you think.

What the fuck chang. This is NOT the HK-DXMIC I ordered. No, removing right side of the 8-mic omni array does not magically turn it into a 4-mic directional beam array. It turns it into trash that does not work at all. Also nowhere in the item description was any mention of USB cable so I got one separately just in case, turns out it was a wrong connector type.
