The gloves arrived.
XL was the perfect fit for my hand size.
And the gloves are very high quality, a good deal for the 25 euro I paid.

The only problem is they advertise this as winter gloves,
but when I drive at +40 km/h and above, the gloves have a huge ventilation went at the top, it lets in cold air that fucks up my body temperature.
I need to figure out a way to block this ventilation.

Herbiker brand jacket. Is also very high quality, it feels the same as whatever winter jackets you can find in clothes shop.
If I remove the thermal liner the jacket is thin and suitable for summer time.
2 zipper pockets, 1 inner zipper pocket.
2 air intakes at chest, can be closed with zipper.
2 air exhause on the back, also has zippers.
Shoulder armor foam and elbow armor foam looks good, they will do the job.

Cons: the big backplate armor is completely fucked up because the factory just rolls up the jacket into a plasticbag when they ship to you, now the backplate armor twist and bend in a weird way and it's uncomfortable when it press into my back. I have 3 options.
-Give it some time to let the foam reshape.
-Replace it with another back armor.
-Remove it entirely, since I don't really need back armor. all of my e-scooter crashes have been me landing sideways into the road.

But at 47 Euro this jacket is a steal and actually makes the gloves look extremely overpriced.

Got replacement for my broken OnePlus 11 phone screen, only 20€ on aliexpress
I had some difficulties due to fragments of the old broken screen sticking to the frame of the phone and being hard to remove, but even just following a pajeet tutorial it was overall pretty easy

Now i just need to be careful because im not sure the screen properly settled in, since the glue from the original screen is mostly gone

Also the screen doesnt seem as good of a quality or image definition as the original but i guess thats to be expected

As someone who falls into that trap regularly, here's what you want to pay attention to:

- Types of switches. There's the colors, which mostly are differentiated by linear or non-linear, and how loud they are. These will be the most important thing for how it feels and sounds. Usual advice is linear if you care most about gaming performance, non-linear if you care more about typing.
- Brand of switches. Different brands have different levels of prestige. If you ask me, don't worry about it. The difference between cherry and gatereon etc is there, but it's overstated.
- Layout. You can't really change the keycaps the way you thought about it, because they are differently sized. If it's the same size key and you want to switch stuff around, it'll work. But the switch for a key is in the middle of the keycap, so you can't physically move the layout around, unless the switched keys are the same size.
- Hot swap. Nice-to-have, not worth paying much for. Makes replacing switches easier if you have no soldering skills, but they last so long it'll probably not matter. If you ever change your mind though you can easily switch keys with hotswap keyboards.
- backlight. If you want RGB or loathe it, get something that fits your opinion.

All the other shit is unimportant. I got myself a keychron C2 as a sort of "let's see if mechanical keyboards are for me" a long time ago when those were still very cheap and have seen 0 reason to upgrade since. US layout though, so sadly not something I can recommend.

Probably shit switches if they aren't mentioned at that price. LCD screens are gimmicks. Volume knob is nice, but ask yourself if that's actually important to you. Same for individualized lighting - when will you actually use that?

Can you touch type or not?
You can still use the UK layout on an ANSI keyboard, only issue is you'll be missing one physical key. I personally gave up having the labels on my keyboard match what I type years ago.
There's a nifty feature on some keyboard called QMK and the via software that lets you remap keys so that you don't need to mess with different layouts in the OS. Personally I sacrified one key I never use for that missing key and I just type with my local european layout on an ANSI keyboard.
Bigger keyboard selection, easier to find keycaps, etc. Finding a keyboard with QMK support was still easier than one with ISO layout.

I bought one of these a recently so that I can automatically and immediately have a backup of pictures I load from an SD card to my laptop.
While the card reader and USB ports work perfectly fine, I have a problem with the m.2 slot. In fact, I have the same problem with a different nvme enclosure from IcyBox: It doesn't work with the ext4 filesystem. The device will reliably disappear from the host after copying some large-ish amount of data. This does not happen if I format it with ntfs, in which case I can write hundrets of gigabytes without problems. It also happens with an m.2 sata sdd I had lying around.

What's going on here? Is it possible they just use the same broken controller? Are Linux users getting cucked again? There's close to zero information online about similar problems.

There are many switches that are quieter than chiclet keyboards, I personally use TTC Frozen Silent switches, but I don't think any keyboard ships with them.

I got it because I needed one more item for the bundle, so I really didn't have high expectations for it, all things considered.
It's definitely sturdier than your average cheap sheet metal fin umbrella, but in the end, it's still not made for eternity.
Given the price it's about as good as it can be I'd say.
Small enough for easy carrying, large enough to not be useless when opened, sturdy enough to survive being in my bag, light enough that I don't notice when it is in that bag.
Only two words of warning:
- The sleeve is somewhat tight, they really didn't want to spend even a 100th of a cent on more fabric kek. Just get the top into the sleeve, then twist it a little and it slips in easily.
- Automatic means you have to expand the energy for both opening and closing when you charge it by pressing it together. As a result it's harder than any semi automatic umbrella. Well worth the tradeoff, but worth knowing.

I mean it's so cheap, I'd say get it and worst case it's a backup, I probably will get a spare one just in case this one breaks, it's part of my edc in my backpack at this point, for those unexpected afternoon rains you sometimes run into.

I have the same keyboard with different caps. I don't remember what switches it has; something with a creamy thonk sound.
Its only been 6 months, but its a fine keyboard. Plastic frame but feels heavy due to the aluminum plate in the bottom. Sounds nice, types nice, and the volume knob is very handy. I'd recommend.

I'm feeling fancy so instead of buying a normal usb c cable or even a "premium" braided cable I'm looking for a silicone one.
Specifically a 240w silicone usb c to usb c cable that's 2m long.

Sounds reasonable. I have a HiDance HDC-085C, which claims up to 50V, 12A, so 600W, but crucially it doesn't specify the wattage on the device itself, so knowing the chinese who knows if it'll not get hot and destroy itself at actually 600W and they'd hide behind some "these are peak values and you can either reach peak voltage or peak current but not both dear" bs kek. Given how opaque the USB-C cable standard is (partially their fault, partially the fault of chinese sellers lying), I think a tester is always good to have honestly. It won't catch all the trickery you can come across (like spoofed signals as you said, or those fucking "USB-C charging cables" where only gnd and 5V pins are connected) but at least you can tell if it supports PD and a reasonable wattage.

In their defense I'm actually quite a big simp for the USB-C standard. It's a great technological feat, it's robust and it does a shitton of things well.
The core issue is one of requirement definition.
Forcing them to make one cable that does it all AND at the same time due to economical pressure making capabilities of that cable optional/the producer gets to decide how many features they want to support was never going to work.
It's too opaque for the average normie and too contrary to the business reality where paying substantial overhead for features you don't need was never practical.
The one thing I will blame them for was that there isn't a more unified way to label the cables, like forcing them to write on one plug a code that can be read (or fuck it even a QR code) that explicitly states power, data and protocol supports. Sure some cheap cables wouldn't bother or copy paste a wrong code, but most would probably comply and it'd make the issue so much less bad.

Anyone have experience with cheap calipers? I have never used one so I have no idea what to look for. I'm measuring things that are 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm thickness so they kinda need to be precise. I've looked at Amazon and they range from $10-$100. Apparently iGaging is a decent brand for hobbyist but it's like $60

Sure, it's actually quite easy.
There's 4 types worth buying.

>Plastic digital calipers from the bundle section (2-3€)
These work with a PCB that has contacts in regular intervals internally and is entirely made from plastic. They'll last you a year or two, then the LCD will likely break. Accuracy isn't great, but we're talking +- .2 mm as a rough estimate, maybe .1mm, so for your case that's probably enough. For 3D printing, they work fine.
The two big advantages is they are cheap (2-3€) and the plastic case means it won't scratch stuff you measure.
>Stainless digital calipers that are unbranded (~10-15€)
Like the cheap ones, but with a stainless body. Internally they work the same, but the LCD is usually better. Don't store them in a place with high moisture or the battery pins might corrode, but other than that they'll last a few years, certainly longer than the cheap ones. 15-20$ though and not any more accurate than the cheap ones. ONLY get them over Shahe if you get a really good deal.
>Analog calipers (14-20€)
These work analog with a big dial. They're fully stainless and about as accurate as the digital ones, if not slightly more (Assume still .1mm or so). Big advantage is no batteries to replace (think ~twice a year for digital ones, or more depending on use) or electronic parts to break. Downside is they have more resistance for large measurements, as you have to engage the internal mechanism. I got some of these for 14€ with coins.
>Shahe digital calipers (17-25€)
Think of them the same as the stainless digital calipers, except shahe is a trusted brand and they come with a calibration certificate. Well worth it if you need them for professional measurements and want to be sure they are calibrated, overkill for anything else. The premium you pay is for that calibration QC.

So I'd say get the cheap plastic bundle ones, see if they are fine (likely they are) for your usecase. If you notice you use them a lot upgrade to one of the other 3.

The cheapest 2 dollar plastic calipers will be accurate to 0.1mm. Fancier metal 15 dollar cheap calipers will be accurate to 0.01mm. Neither will last more than a few months without draining the battery, so take it out after you use it. You have to pay 100 bucks for calipers if you want them to come with an actual off switch.

0.1mm sounds a big difference to me. I'm measuring old thermal pads on consoles and some pads are 2mm, but because of shrinkage it might go down to 1.6mm. If it's a 0.1mm that 1.6mm pad might turn into a 1.5mm pad and I might use the wrong one.

For thermal pads, you should always buy the smallest possible pad for the application. Thermal pads have dogshit heat conductivity, that's why the thermal paste on your CPU gets clamped in place to make it as thin as possible.

In that case get the Shahe or the analog ones.
Analog ones are a bit risky as some come broken and you have to manually calibrate them (you can adjust the zeroing).
Alternatively you can get analog ones (as in without a dial) locally from a western brand, but they'll cost a lot more if you want accurate ones and non-dial is a bit harder to read (but you get used to it)

Absolutely reasonable, but that's kind of the deal you have to make.
You either get decent accuracy with a risk of shit QC for cheap from china, or marginally accuracy but with great QC and guaranteed accuracy from the west for a shitton of money.
I kinda forgot to mention that the shahe calipers (and some of the better stainless calipers) use a wheel to measure distance rather than PCB traces. Versions that do that CAN be more accurate, but that depends all on the sensor, they can also be dogshit. I'd still go for it personally though.

Thermal pads comes in 0.5mm increments.
Using a 1.5mm when you're supposed to use a 2mm can make a big difference for thermals.
Using a 2mm when you're supposed to use a 1.5mm can damage components.

If I'm measuring an old thermal pad, and a cheap caliper tells me it's 1.6mm then I'm going to assume it's a 2mm thermal pad because time and heat is going to shrink them. But because of a 'rounding error' that 1.6mm might actually be a 1.4mm and it's actually supposed to be a 1.5mm.

The way I see it, what do you have to lose? They probably need it for tax/accounting reasons.
Either they detect a mismatch in your browser/request/purchase location and they lock it, or they don't and you get the money.

Let's say I open up a PS3 and it has different thickness thermal pads. I know thermal pads only comes in 0.5mm increments. So it's either using 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm or 2mm.
I use a caliper to measure one of the thermal pads, it reads out as 1.6mm. There are NO 1.6mm thermal pads and since it's larger than a 1.5mm then I can safely assume that it used to be a 2mm pad. Heat and time shrinks these pads and they never go up in thickness over the years. I am not rounding to 2mm. I am saying it's 2mm because I measured a 1.6mm pad which is bigger than a 1.5mm pad, and since the next increment is 2mm I assume it's 2mm.
But here's my problem, if that 1.6mm measurement is wrong and it's actually 1.4mm then I can assume it's EITHER 1.5mm OR 2mm. 2mm don't ever shrink that much so there's a good chance it's actually a 1.5mm pad.

Not that guy, but this is so wrong. Look at thermal pad replacements for GPUs. They always say to use the right size thickness of thermal pads. Too thin and it won't make contact to the cooler and too thick and you'll bow and bend the PCB, potentially damaging it.

No, removing right side of the 8-mic omni array does not magically turn it into a 4-mic directional beam array. It turns it into trash that does not work at all.

Also nowhere in the item description was any mention of USB cable so I got one separately just in case, turns out it was a wrong connector type. Both 1.25mm but not interchangeable.
