why do they keep doing things with windows they know everyone is going to hate i mean who wants an "agentic" OS?
I do, but in a VM running a local model or something
Most users are retarded and don't know what they want. Henry Ford put it best when he said that if he'd listened to people he would have made a faster horse.
>>107421312They're forcefully shoving AI into Windows for the shareholders, not for the users
>>107421335why would you want you8r OS to do things all on its own? >>107421342no one wants their computer to make decisions id rather die than ever even give an agentic OS a chanceimagine your computer telling you " you played too many games today you must take a break" or " you have spent too much time on YouTube do something else" it would be a fucking NIGHTMARE no one has EVER accomplished ANYTHING by being limited in anyway
>>107421397>why would you want you8r OS to do things all on its own?Yesterday I wanted to make changes to a mod for a game (specifically a shader mod using a library I'm not familiar with) but I'm lazy and don't want to do any work. Instead of doing it myself, I uploaded the raw mod file to Claude Opus and asked it to figure out what it was, and do research and find documentation to figure out how to patch it to do what I wanted. Claude invoked terminal commands by itself, identified that the file was a renamed zip, unpacked the files, and then started searching through the directory tree to contextually understand the code and figure out where the patch should go. It did a couple internet searches along the way and found forum posts to identify names of variables. Then when it was done, it re-packaged the file as a zip and sent me the download link for it. It didn't work, so I explained the problem, and it was able to figure out what went wrong and the next version it sent actually worked. It did all of that by itself btw without me prompting it, I only sent 2 messages in the chat, it just made those decisions on its own.
>>107421639ya and i dont want my PC doing any of that if it can do it for you without prompting it can do it against you without prompting i want ti maintin ffull control of my computer AT ALL TIMES its why i dont use fucking windows
>>107421392This plus they know that regardless of what diarrhea they shove in Windows people won't move away from it
>>107421681Now you're understanding the reason why my answer was that I'd prefer to have the feature constrained to a VM or container, something you can spin up anytime. Sort of like how github codespaces works.
>>107421718see but u promise you that not what Microsoft is planning they are going to make it so it checks your email for you or sorts your files for you things that anyone should want to do for themself and it will all be done in such a buggy shitty way you might as well not bother
>>107421839I never mentioned Microsoft in any of my posts doe. Your question was just whether I want an agentic OS.
>>107421312Literally a book example of why monopoly is bad and all megacorps must be constantly fucked by users (but users are cattle) and gobererment (but lobbies and offshores). They will do shit and people will eat shit. Just do not eat shit, make all people who matters to you not eat shit. And if you have any -- any -- chance to fuck some corporation up, do it.
>why does subhuman trash feel the need to constantly change things that worked completely fineSo these subhumans feel like they are worth something too. Same reason why youtube and many other things are now what they are.
>>107421312They legitimately think you want this.
>>107422154oof
>2x32gb costs like a GPU nowwhat the actual fuck
>>107421342and if microshit listened to their customers they'd just patch bugs
>>107421312If you hate Microsoft you're literally a jeet.
>everyoneMost people don't care, anon. That's why normies accept the slop down their gobs without complaining. They just want to use their compooters and zogware from the jewstore and be done with it.
>>107421312>who wants an "agentic" OS?The shareholders that need to see line going up.
>>107421312Don't forget that you're not the customer.
