BUY ALL THE DDR3 RAM WHILE NOBODY IS NOTICING HURRY GEE!!
NO NO NO. ITS DDR5.
My 4970k will be fine for another couple decades!
its ddr5 thats expensive. ddr4 and ddr3 didnt budge much.
>>107425652For now…
>>107425652DDR4 prices are climbing and will continue to as it becomes the only option for consumers.
>>107425676>>107425699samsung ddr4 and hynix ddr5 are climbing but you can still get micron cheap
>>107425676you can always get ddr2 as most systems only run 32 bit that can only take 4gb max. literal ewaste
>>107425699once poors give up on ddr4 they will move on to ddr3
I'm not even a poorfag but I can't imagine upgrading from my 4770k anytime soon. Computers got good enough 15 years ago.
>>107425747Lol noCapitalism will continue to hurt the people. Unless Chiness government steps in to punish the greedy corpos mindrot of "line must go le up!!!" Capitalist systems will continue to be unsustainable and punish the 99% so the 1% gain profit over people

>>107425465i do this and say this
>>107425652DDR4 is literally behaving identically to DDR5, the prices have at least doubled. When did you check that? A month ago?
>>107425465I'm using a 2696V3 with 184GB RAM.
>>107425939not an argument
>>107425465I have 40 GB of unused SO-DIMM DDR3 memory that I have absolutely no use for, what even can I do with them?
damn i bought a year and a half ago, never used.Do i take profits or HODL?
>>107425465upgraded my laptop to 16GB DDR3
>>107425806I respect cockroaches more than I do communists
>>107425465for me personally its selling off my stock of ddr4 for more than my most recent build cost in total
I have a stack of Fujitsu Esprimos with i7-4790 / Xeon E3-1276v3's with 32GB of RAM bought at 5€/8GB module price. It seems that even DDR3 prices have risen to over a double of that in few monts.
>>107426208Kek this.Lookin' at ~$200 for 32GB Corsair vengeance at 3200MHz in DDR4. Absolutely fucking wild.
>>107427200How badly do you need the 300 bucks? If it's not a big deal to you right now, just hold. It's not like jeets are about to stop consoooooming ai
>>107427701Not poor so I don't need, but it's very surprising to see this off brand RAM I bought on a whim tripled in value.
>>107425652ddr4 is risingI don't know where you're checking
>>107425503This is literally my CPU. Am I fucked? Haven't really felt the need to upgrade, even this year.
>>107425465>>107425652>>107425676
>>107428480Fuck it, who needs a new computer anyways. My 8GB of DDR3 still works for me.
ah shit, happening here tooit's just panic buying though right? a temporary hitch
>>107428637yes, just like GPUs...
>>107428645except more than a single company makes itI never wanted fanxiang(?) ram but I'll get it if I need to
>>107428645The old bitcoin mining GPUs got cheap after it crashed. They're still cheap today. Its the AI stuff that's expensive right now. When AI crashes AI GPUs will get cheap.
>>107428659>more than a single company makes itACK!
>>107428453just set mitigations=off and run an older microcode and you're good for another 5 years
>>107428672Unlike GPUs, no name chink ram actually exists and isn't just vaporware.
>>107428685lol enjoy paying $600 for 16GB of RAM and $200 for your shitty chinese knockoff that crashes your system.
Me sitting on 64gb DDR4 and 3TB of NVME SSDs bought at the bottom couple years ago
>>107425652The price of the ddr4 kit I bought has literally tripled.
>>107425806Chinks already make their own CPUs and GPUs. It'd be nice if they flooded the market with them.
>>107428703>DRAMless NVME SSDYou got meme'd
For the poor and afflicted, I shall cast light upon you, and inform of the little known fact that you can buy chinese x99 ddr3 boards, that take cheap broadwell and haswell xeons, which can use registered ddr3 memory, which is also dirt cheap since it can't be used with anything else, <1$ per gb, 4dimm boards can take 128gb of memory.
Why do people need more RAM anyway? I can understand people needing it for servers but 8-16 GB is all you need for desktop use.
>>107428941>but 8-16 GB is all you need for desktop use.
>buy 48GB for my servers to make up the shortfall because prices went up 11.111%>prices are now 55.555% of what they were when I first looked and 40% above when I caved last week>1 stick is DoA>no units to replace it with in stock>refund back to original value within 6 months
>>107429016heres what you do>heatgun ram stick reflow crappy solder which is likely cracked> sell now working ram stick (which will likely die in a few months) at increased price
>>107428985I can have Firefox open with 10 tabs, a virtual machine running the background all while playing a game and still wouldn't use more than 16 GB of RAM, seriously what do people do with this much RAM? do you literally load all your OS directly into RAM? that's the only usecase I see for having so much RAM.
>>107425465Malaysia mentioned
>>107425699New prices might be, but the used market for DDR4 is pretty stable. Too many people trying to cash in at once and flooding Ebay with listings, meaning prices haven't really gone anywhere.
>>107425652DDR3 seen 3x increase in my region.
>baby’s first price hikeWere you all under 10 during covid ?
>>107428666except the last two phases of GPUs being extremely expensive didn't make them cheap enough to justify how long the prices ended up being fucked, and then gpu makers just completely upped msrp arbitrarily per generation anyway. The only saving grace of any of this is that it will still be a long time before they even consider making ddr6 ram kits so if there is a crash ddr5 will at least be affordable. The true question is if people will see right through that and keep it relatively priced to what it was but still more expensive than it should be comparable to GPUs.
>>107428696As Micron are going just into the commercial RAM sector then that supply will increase and they leave the consumer sector open for others to fill. Micron see the commercial market the better option.
>>107429546so they're copying the ibm strategy
I have 398 GB of Registered ECC DDR3.Have at it fellas. I'm set for awhile.
>>107425652Wrong. This summer 2x16gb sticks were 620 crowns (66$). Now they sit at 2100 (230$) that is more than tripple increase. Stop lying.
do picopsu work with chinese x79 mobo
>>107427644I paid about that much for 128gb of ddr4 like 2 years ago, kek.
>>107425772>Poors>Yes I am a dumb amerigoy who will pay out of my ass just to not be called "poor"I don't care how much money you have, overpaying is always retarded.Paypigs are the saddest things.
>>107428856You are a retard. I have the pre-sandisk SN850X 2TB which has 2gb of DRAM. My older 1TB samsung drive is DRAM-less though.
>>107425465>year 2025>BUY ALL THE DDR3Are you stupid or from Somalia?
>>107431396Fuck you I'm from Ethiopia
