Something Is Rotten in the State of Cupertino
>>107428883Tim Cook's rectum?
Good riddance to this hack. The post-Jobs / post-Forstall era of UI design has been a shitshow. Not sure whether Lemay will be the one who finally rights the ship, being that this is still Tim Cook’s Apple, but he seems to have way more cred internally as a UI guy than Dye ever did.
>>107428883>When a goy says something so wrongthinkful that you have to give them the adenocrome stare
>>107428883the dude who made liquid ass, good riddance
Dye leaving + John Giannandrea “retiring” + rumblings about Tim Cook stepping down as CEO give me some hope that things are finally starting to turn around at Apple after having muddled through the better part of the last decade (with the exception of the post-Intel Macs which have been undeniably spectacular)
>>107428883the continuous lifecycle of Shit Design circles the drain. But it wont never flush.
>>107429194>rumblings about Tim Cook stepping downThe Gay Beancounter ain't stepping nowhere. >LatestAirPodQuarterlySales.xls
>>107429198Dye comes the fashion / marketing world and is much more adept at corporate politicking than product design so he’d fit right in as another ass-kisser for boy-king Zuck
>>107429392>and is much more adept at corporate politicking than product designwhy then, he'd fit right in at Apple!what? oh.
>>107429417Apple under Jobs was a design-first company that would sweat out every detail as to how hardware and software all worked together
>>107429460>Apple under JobsAnon, I..
>>107429209Cook is 100% stepping down next year, the board leaked it themselves
they never recovered after john ivy
>>107429786another br*wn CEO takes over?
>>107428883It's cool that they come up with a new design language in 2025. It's pretty difficult task today. Sadly it's a blurry gray mess. Looks cool in video teasers though. >>107429819He was pretty good at reimagining Ramses designs in mid 2000s. Too bad he went insane 10 years after.
>>107429819>>107429848Ive needed Jobs around to keep him in check and tell him when something sucked or needed to be revised. Post-Jobs without a product guy at the top anymore, he was given free rein and became the caricature of a pretentious self-indulgent boutique designer who sniffs his own farts, which led to some all-time turkeys like the 2013 trash can Mac Pro, the $10,000 solid gold Apple Watch Edition, and most egregiously the 2016 MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar, butterfly-switch keyboard, and USB-C ports only (dongle city baby). The writing was on the wall by the time he left Apple and now he’s just coasting on his past success doing a weird bromance thing with Sam Altman that likely won’t amount to much at all.
>>107428883is that guy in charge of the ios-ification of macos?good riddance
>>107429819Ive is the most overrated designer ever. He created so many unworkable shit designs that only a brainwashed Apple zealot could possibly accept.
>>107428987Lemay will be a hero if he cleans up the Mac UI by the next WWDC.
>>107430978Right, but he also created lots of great designs, like the cheese grater Mac Pro modeled on an HVAC heat exchanger He was hella washed up at the end, though
