He's basically saying that AI can make better decisions about farming than African farmers. The problem is that low crop yields aren't just due to a knowledge gap but an intelligence gap. Are the farmers going to be putting in decent prompts to take full advantage of the AI? Are they going to be showing it diagrams of their fields, talking about how many hours of sunlight/how much rainfall they get per season? Asking about what the ideal crops to grow for the region are and whether or not they should diversify? I don't really see that happening. This isn't even mentioning the amount of effort (or lack thereof) they put into their work.
