The trackpad was actually the main sticking point on why I wouldn't buy anything but macbooks because every other laptop's trackpad would sometimes be totally unresponsive or spontaneously jump/jitter and multi finger clicking and gestures was unreliable as fuck. And it was definitely the hardware, not the OS, because I ran Linux on all of my macs and the trackpad was just as perfect in Linux as it was in macOS, other OEMs just suck dick at making trackpads, but my T14S trackpad is every bit as good as my 2017 mbp and 2013 mba trackpads.
