What the fuck is going on here? I'm using a 265K and there's a 10c to 15c temperature difference between several of my p-cores at full load... it gets even worse when I try to overclock my chip...

I don't know if it's because of uneven mounting pressure, shitty thermal paste application, etc. I'm using a 360mm AIO along with a Thermalright contact frame, maybe that contact frame is the issue somehow?

There's going to be no functional difference wrt CPU and GPU performance between the Carbon and the Tomahawk.

For an air cooler, get a Noctua NH-D15 G2 (Chromax if you want black) if you want the very best overall.

Dark Rock Elite, if you want an alternative air cooler with good fans, but this cold plate favors Intel CPUs.

When the X870E Carbon's M2_2 slot is populated, the PCI_E1 (Gen 5.0 x16) slot drops down to x8.
You can use the other three M.2 slots first and leave M2_2 empty unless you really need it.
It's also more cost-effective to buy 4TB NVMe drives these days over a 2TB drive of the same model.

I understand people want to keep one low-capacity drive for the OS or dual booting, that still leaves 2 other slots before the M2_2 needs to be used.
B850 Tomahawk doesn't have this issue; it has a quirk when PCI_E3 is used, but people rarely need that slot.

It was a Gigabyte board. To make matters even worse Gigabyte is about the only maker that spaces the PCIe slots in such a way that if you have a fatfuck GPU (AIB 4090/5090) the slots are low enough down the board that they're not blocked by the GPU's cooler.
They almost had a great setup and fucked it for more Gen 5 drives.

Why are oled monitors really that dim compared to their tv counterparts?
i have an oled tv from 5 years ago which can hit peak brightness of over 800 nits which can make me genuinely want to squint my eyes when i look at bright lights or the sun in games. however these modern up to date oled monitors can only hit around 500 nits at the very most which is no where near as close.

And as far I know Asus just connected most of M.2 to CPU on pretty much every their board, which results in sharing, MSI and Gigabyte are doing this way less.

Aside from their rear I/O, they're probably my favorite sub-$400 mobos by specs alone, since like you said, they took the best part of MSI's boards (taking lanes from the USB4 instead of anything else) and combined it with their usual convenient PCIe placement. Is it a good idea to buy used Samsung Neo G8 VA mini-LED (G85) in 2026? There's one listed for 340€ locally.

I shit you not, I bought a car for this exact price. A fucking car, a motor vehicle. A 2002 Opel Zafira 2.0D 101 horse power.
Sure it's an old shitbox and not particularly fast, but it can seat seven people, has a lot of cargo area when the 6th and 7th seats are folded down, and doesn't use too much fuel for day to day driving.
