>Focusing on pc building wards away the negative thoughts Is anyone else like this?
>throw a build together to see what the cost would look like>about $2100 leafbucks >would be a comfy $1800 if RAM was what it should be3 scenarios...>1. pull the trigger out of FOMO and build now, before it gets even more expensive>2. wait and hope things calm down sometime within the next 1-2 years and hopefully build for around the $1800 (and when I actually want to upgrade)>3. wait and it got so much worse and this $1800 PC is now $2500 or moreWat do?
look what i found from an old pc 'build' in my storage uniti was very poor at the time and it only cost $175 or something and put it in a sff hp elite desk so i could play witcher 3
>>107474889Can't help without knowing the build or upgrade path, ram will get worse either way you, need to realize most people took a hit this year be it storage, ram or even GPU, I took a hit on my gpu and now it's worse than before and will get worse once vram slows down again. The only silver lining is that I can sell the extra component from the newegg combo
what is stopping me using my 2TB NVME as RAM
>>107474889just buy nowwhat will waitfagging get you? cheaper ram in 2028?
>>107474923Something in or around pic related>>107475061I don't really want to upgrade desu, I just feel pressured to
>>107475032The fact that, comparatively speaking, an NVMe is molasses slow
>>107475104See if you can get a prebuilt at that price range, that Ram is rape territory. I think the meta especially at mid range will be prebuilt the problem will be how much you can build and upgrade the fucking thing.
What the fuck is going on here? I'm using a 265K and there's a 10c to 15c temperature difference between several of my p-cores at full load... it gets even worse when I try to overclock my chip...I don't know if it's because of uneven mounting pressure, shitty thermal paste application, etc. I'm using a 360mm AIO along with a Thermalright contact frame, maybe that contact frame is the issue somehow?
>>107475104>2x16gb 5600 cl40 for 420 United States Doraruat what point do the data centers just start randomly combusting?
>>107475104>2tb ssd is 298 $ Its so fucking over
>>107475287To add to this, if I use something to test my cores one by one like with OCCT core cycling, my p-cores temps are relatively even (+-2c from each other). So how come a full load on the CPU causes such temperature differences?
>>107474889I'm sure prices will continue to rise forever until RAM is $1500 a mb, this is completely sustainable because people will continue to buy at that price and line always goes up
>>107475307>>107475303>>107475268those are canadian prices but yeah its still shitI've avoided pre-builts like the plague and I've heard horror stories about them, but if there's legitimate merit I might have to consider it.
>>107475331The pre-builts you are thinking are the "300$ i7 gaming pc" listings on amazon and it exist only to scam old people. If there is a huge price difference buy it. I bought rx 9060xt for 360$ last week and its 440$ right now
>RAM prices have started to stabilize>ebay sales slowing down>can still get 64GB of DDR5 for sub-$600RAM crisis is overblown. Waitbros, we won.
>>107475331During the great GPU inflation you were better off going either laptop or prebuilt depending on your budget. If you can eat the ram cost then go for it, in retrospect it's not much different than the hit people took during the early year GPU surge so it's more about what you're willing to trade off. I take back my previous statement since you want to be able to service your device.
Is the 9060 XT 16 GB a good value card? Can I get 60 FPS max graphics at 1080p playing total war warhammer 3?
>>107475387These people are ghouls and they test what people are willing to buy. I think they are not getting the sales they hoped for and might stop at 2x unless they get the finger completely. The people most likely to paypig en mass will always be gamer and the biggest decider will be the GPU which is pretty stable at the moment. You can stay on your old platform and still see massive gains buy just upgrading the GPU.>>107475396You can easily check that in google, the Vram will hold you solid so I assume if it hits your target games it will last you. But 60 cards are typically the worst value especially with the trend modern games are taking with shitty optimization. But at 1080p I doubt it will mater.
>>107475287Every CPU has cores hotter than the rest. As long as it's not throttling anything, it is what it is.
>>107475287dunno if it helps but a quick search "265k core temperature difference" showed that it is a common problem for 265k with numerous reports of a stable 10-15c core temperature difference even when using an AIO

Maybe I'll find a Costco prebuilt on offer as they're always slow for these sorts of price rises.

>buying a GPU for hundreds of dollars in the middle of a recessionAre you stupid? You don't need a paperweight that's just going to sit around and gather dust. You don't need it for your job. You don't use it to make money. You should spend that on real, tangible things instead like furniture, food, medical procedures, things that will actually make a difference instead of toys you use to entertain yourself.
If you are waiting for memory prices to drop, don't. It's gonna get worse. Buy memory today.
>>107480451>You need to get SSDs before the climb.SDD's are already double what they were in October.

>>107481374Entertaining yourself is a waste of time and a distraction, entertain yourself with things that will give you marketable skills or let you grow as a person and be entertained by the results. Expensive computer hardware is only for those who can afford it and use it properly, so move studios, data companies, computer labs, scientists, engineers. >>107481431kek, you don't even realize it do you? Let me open your eyes. If you were aware that the price hike was incoming, you actually had insider knowledge for a high demand market change meaning if you had a million on hand and invested it all in RAM then sold at the current price you would have made anywhere from 2 to 3 million, poof.

Waitfagging is being greedy in its own way (waiting to pay less for more).Waitchads don't try to time the bottom; they exit when prices are "good enough".Prices were "good enough" for a variety of core PC components between 2023- early October '25 if you didn't live in a place with component sourcing issues.
