so.. best practice is to mount on ceiling, horizontally, right?

better than mounting on wall vertically, they say..

then does that mean placing it on the floor "upside down" is better then mounting vertically?

Idk I just put it by the ONT and it works. You got stone/brick interior walls or something?

go back to stack overflow faggot

like obviously there are drawbacks to having it in the fucking middle of the room where you can trip on it but its just kinda funny to think that its a better signal..

Mount it on a coffee table or something

you don't mount them based on where you get the best signal distribution, you mount them where it's convenient and just buy more APs, retard
don't buy a million WiFi 7 APs and just get a pile of AP-AC-Pros and you're good

The only pajeet here is you, you cant interpret a rf graph and instead demand someone spoon feed you.

Ceiling, wall, or under the floor really doesn't matter. What matters is the propagation map for the antenna, and the materials between the antenna and any potential client.

I have mine mounted both on walls, and it covers a very large house adequately, because it suits the layout and has to do minimal traversal through walls/floors/etc at weird angles to reach clients.

Really depends on your needs and situation. Being able to get a wired cord to the back of the thing to hard wire it in is also a major consideration. I could have put my APs in slightly better positions, definitely, but a small gain for a major wiring hassle was not worth the tradeoff. Likewise, there was one spot in the house where I could have mounted the AP and probably covered the entire house comfortably, but was I FUCK getting into that spot with a ladder to mount it.
