Opening spam mail? Safe (it was 100% phishing attempt by social engineering)
Downloading crack on the most dubious website ever? Safe.

There's no such thing as Mitnick, the lonely hacker, engineering broad spectrum viruses in his mancave.
It's all three letters agencies, and rogue employees working within tech company.
"muh black hatted community" is an hoax. A convenient boogeyman to (not) take the fall.
