the eternal debate
It's more of an external or internal debate.
>>107485155internal is always bestat least that's what your mom told me
all is trashi dont want nothing disturbing my ears thats why speakers exist
Over at home.In outside. On in your school's Congo-tier computer lab.
wireless buds on the movespeakers at home
bone conduction for everything casual, over for everything more committed
>>107485122Over when I'm just sitting in one place for a prolonged period (home, train), in when I'm walking or whateverGenuinely don't understand why on exist
>>107485122I'm a IEM nigga
>>107485212I also agree with this. managing another device with a battery is also a pain in the ass.
>>107485322dildo on ears lmao
>>107485364Very mature
>>107485212bone conduction is so unintrusive you forget you're wearing it
>>107485364ppffff hah
Over.Anyone else is a retarded faggot.
over at homein outsideon in hell
>>107485122over is great, on feels weird on my ears, in usually has shittier quality especially when you go cheap
>>107485122iems get fucking disgusting if you wear them daily
>>107485322What are those? They be sexy.
>>107485644Letshuoer D13
>>107485122Over unless I'm at work. I hate IEMs but they're great for not having anybody notice you have them
>>107485122>OverBest for sound>OnNo>InEasy to carry
In has better noise isolation and no gamer dent
>>107485122>roastie>outie>innie
>>107485122speakers, I'm not poor
in-ears are necessary for asmr and other voice works
>>107485122all have their unique use case. over for proper sound and best isolation. on for ability to hear environment around you also. in for portability and/or poverty
>>107485122Nothing beats over ears in terms of comfort>>107485298>>107485382I kept hearing that the sound quality is shit, still true?
>>107485122if you want to have a permanent bald spot choose 1 or 2 like I did. If you want to keep your hair choose the 3rd option
>>107485122In.
>>107485122I carry in-ears when I'm not sure if I gonna need headphones. Overs are better in comfort and arguably sound. I use mostly Bluetooth though. What is the point of on-ear headphones?>>107488658>I kept hearing that the sound quality is shit, still true?It is. It's cool when you need to hear shit. Like on a bike or something like that.
>>107486891You should kys
>>107489650
Over, better sound retention and isolation
>>107488869Change your diaper
>>107486846this is the only wayover or in, """on""" is not even a consideration
>>107488658it's perfectly fine, on par with the best earbuds and i'm going to get ones with a usb dongle because the loss of quality more than pays itself with the comfort
>>107485155Fpbp
>>107485122On is more comfy than over tbdesu. And in feels like it's constantly trying to get out of my ears if I do the slightest movements
>>107487564Versus what, your phone speaker?
>>107488869mimidashi
>>107485298This desu. The sound of bone conduction is surprisingly decent, I used to use nice iems but since switched to shokz after they broke. Brain burn in is very real, at first I thought it sound dogshit, but overtime I got used to it and even enjoy how it sounds. Really the comfyness and surround awareness are great, and I wouldn't really trade it for more technical hifi sound in a casual use case. Best usecase is taking a walk with some music, quiet enough to enjoy the ambient noise outside.Otherwise I use over-ears at home, using hd600s
>>107485382And then you remember again when the tinny quality kicks in>>107488658Yes, bone conduction sound quality is always subpar no matter the brand even if you shave your hair to accommodate direct skin contact.
>>107492457I just used shokz bought on sale for the first time today because I wanted something for swimming. They do what they're supposed to and that's all I can ask for.
>>107485122>onif you prefer this, you are a psychopath
>>107485122>every doctor in the world tells you not to stick anything in your ear>everyone buys the only kind of headphones that you stick in your earsGoddamn people are retarded
>>107492555i've been using the basic bitch openmove shokz model for 2 years for at least 8 hours a daythe sound quality is good, obviously not over ear tier but i'd take them over any in ear buds or headsets outside while walking aroundi literally only wear a proper headset when playing vidya on pc
>>107485122Over or in. On-ear = shit tier.
>>107492627>>every doctor in the world tells you not to stick anything in your earIt was real in my mind
>>107493303You're that special kind of retard that even if your doctor told you not to stick anything in your ears, you'd still dismiss it and say that I'm wrong. You're such a sad retard that refuses to admit when they're wrong.
>>107493365Bro just made something up and claimed all doctors say in-ears bad lol
>>107493424All doctors will literally tell you to never stick anything in your ears. I'm telling you, go to your primary doctor and ask them if you should ever stick anything in your ears. Hell, go to your nearest hospital and ask the doctors there too just to have more evidence. Even better, find your local otolaryngologist and ask them, since ears are part of their specialty. When ALL of them tell you not to stick anything in your ears, will you admit I'm right? No, you won't, because you're a sad child.
>>107492627>>107493476Show me 1 (one) doctor that tells you not to stick this in your ears.
>>107485122over if you respect your eardrums. on if you're retarded. in if you believe hearing doesn't deteriorate over time for some reason.
>>107485122The last is for the flamboyant homosexual.
>>107485364They even use phrases like "it sounds orgasmic" when they discuss things.
The only real answer is all since they have different use cases they are better for, including open and closed for each. Flathead earbuds are my general favorite though.
>>107485298>>107492119>>107492457>>107493051Maybe it's a stupid question but...are there any risk to wearing them? I mean, for your bone/skull/whatever? I'd love to buy one pair but I always been hesitant because I don't want to mess up my health or something.
over-ear gave me migraines in this region that were so bad they woke me up at night
>>107493659if there is i don't feel anythingit's much better than my previous in ear sennheisers that accumulated a fuckload of gunk and made me feel like shit and killed themselvesi can't even feel them if i'm not focusing on my head and they're one alcohol wipe away from functioning like brand new
>>107485353Who the fuck uses wireless headphones on pc? People do this?
have never been able to find an iem that fits inside my dainty little ears
>>107493659Google AI had this to say:>Bone conduction headphones are generally safe and don't inherently harm you, as they bypass the eardrum, but risks like hearing damage can occur from listening at excessively high volumes for too long, as the cochlea is still stimulated. Other minor issues can include discomfort or headaches from tight fits or vibrations, and skin irritation, but these are usually temporary and manageable by adjusting the fit and keeping volumes moderate (e.g., below 80dB). There's no credible evidence they cause brain damage. >Hearing Damage: The biggest risk is noise-induced hearing loss from high volumes, just like with traditional headphones.>Solution: Keep volume moderate (around 50-60% of max), take breaks, and use volume caps if available.>Discomfort/Headaches: Too tight a fit or prolonged pressure can cause headaches or skin irritation.>Solution: Ensure a snug but comfortable fit; avoid squeezing the head too hard.>Vibration Sensitivity: Some users are sensitive to the vibrations, which can be uncomfortable.>Solution: This is often a matter of personal tolerance, but proper fit helps. >Key Safety Points:>Bypass Eardrum: They are great for situational awareness and can be a good option for some types of hearing loss because they skip the outer/middle ear.>Not for Everything: Sound quality, especially bass, might not be as rich as traditional headphones, and they aren't for swimming unless waterproof. >In summary, bone conduction headphones are safe and healthy for most people with responsible listening habits, but they aren't completely risk-free if used irresponsibly, especially regarding volume.
>>107485122Open back over ears are by far the most comfortable to wear. Why put yourself in agony?

>>107495756>speakers>fidelitydo you genuinely think there's no quality loss when instead of pushing it through a finely tuned <2w device you're shoving it through 50?

>>107495483>0 noise isolation, you hear all of the bus noise>crank volume up to fight all of the ambient noise>now the whole bus hears whatever the fuck you're listening/watching at the same volume phone speakers would...are you seriously that retarded? you quite literally picked the WORST possible use case for open backs.

>>107485122there's no debateiems have the best sound, and least distortionsover ears have the worst sound and most distortions on ears hurt my ears and have shit isolation I use wireless over ears for casual stuff and daily browsing cause with iems I get sores sometimes cause I literally have them in all day and then I put in earplugs and go to sleep.with over ears it saves me some ear canal inflammation.if I'm seriously listening to music though its wired iems.
>>107492119>on par with the best earbudsOn par with the best dollar store earbuds, yes. It still sounds like shit.
>>107497370>he doesn't breathe through his earsWhy even live
>>107497563I prefer IEMs too. After trying a bunch, I keep coming back to Shure and some Aliexpress ones with the same form factor and 3 mm nozzles that I can put the Shure black foams on. They cost more for similar sound quality, but they're just so much comfier for wearing for long periods, and and I've yet to find something quite as comfy for if I want to lie down and listen to something than the old SE425s I got in 2013.>with over ears it saves me some ear canal inflammationIf my ears are sore, sweaty, or wet inside right after a shower, and I want to listen to something, I use Koss KSC75 sport clip headphones. They're light and fit loosely enough over my ears that they don't interfere with them drying out.

If you wear headphones at all, you are a fag. Simple as.

>>107485212Speakers are a huge faff.>just sit at the right spot>just buy these huge things and place them exactly where you'd want monitors>just pad out your whole place with cubic metres worth of audio insulation>just get a measuring microphone to dial in the eq to cancel your room characteristic>just don't move your head so frequencies don't get cancelled outAt least headphones deliver a reliable and consistent experience
