> learn to codeFuck you. Should have studied economy.
they're employed in mcdonalds
You'd think economics would be the FIRST thing replaced with AI.
>>107485585>Should have studied economy.I'd wager most economists have also learned to code themselves.
>>107485585Econ would have been too easy
Economist dont have the answers for the us economy what good are they?Btw keynesian economics works on videogames i guess
>>107488262>the usUsecase?
>>107485585The great thing about having studied economics is I'm the best coder among of a bunch of no-coders, instead of just the most expensive code-monkey among a bunch of jeets.
>>107487049Absolutely worst thing about techbros is how little qualms they have about shoving the rest of their colleagues under the bus. Lawyers keep a tight lobby with so much gatekeeping that they could probably pass for a medieval guild. Economists probably do the same. >oh look I have this AI thingy that can make some office jobs obsolete>I could use it to eradicate the majority of lawyers and parts of the legal system from existence, thereby making everyones life better>lol no I'm just gonna use it to make my own guys miserable firstI'd actually understand if techbros gave preferential treatment to their ethnic groups and used AI to dump pajeets out of the industry, but they have zero allegiance to anyone or anything.
>>107485585But I like programming
>>107488479Nerds went into nerd rage when bootcamper hispters started making the react dashboards. Not all coders are friends.
>>107488479I don't know if technical people will ever unionize or not
>>107488491I currently work in a company basically made of people who came into IT from bootcamps and get senior roles by working on .net crud shit but can't figure out how to build an open source project from source.
>>107485585Economics is the most vain bullshit ever. The people doing it are all insufferable and have nothing interesting to say.
>>107488537we don't need unions, we need guilds. Unions are for lazy freeloaders sucking on the pay of capable people. Guilds are there for gatekeeping.
>>107488871just to add, the point should be not to remove competition entirely, just restrict competition from outside influences.
>>107488871the abolition of the guild system was the primary driver of the greatest economic growth, the increase in real wealth and prosperity, that the world has ever seen
the guild system still lives on in a few limited areas. most prominent is the medical system, where it is illegal to enter the market without the approval of pre-existing gatekeepers. you must do things their way. even if it literally kills you.this is not a situation that breeds reliability or quality of service, political independence or market efficiency.
>>107488903Ok, then let's break the lawyer guilds. Every firm is now obliged to take in an H1B trainee and everyone is allowed to be represented by an LLM at court.
>>107485585I’m an economics grad and would’ve needed to move to DC and work in government to use my economics degree. It ultimately wasn’t really useful
>>107485585Americans can't suffer
Unions snd guilds are s dead end since theyll be done away with ai and later robotics pretty easily. The only move forward is to form cults and the like but that window is closing too.
it's getting tougher for new graduates thats for sure
