one big reason people bring up is that same factories that make consumer ddr5 chips can be used for AI related components
Like micron quit the consumer market https://www.equiti.com/sc-en/news/trade-reviews/micron-exits-consumer-memory-to-focus-on-advanced-ai-data-center-chips/ because apparently they can just make their existing consumer oriented factories switch things up to serve the big AI.

will take about 5-8 years for the prices to roll back to the October level and 15 to get back to the RAM summer of 2025. Just you wait until they roll back consumer DDR6 to like 2029

FYI, the Arctic Pro fans run loud at above 900~1000 RPM, set custom fan curves that keep them running below that range when the CPU is under 60~70°C.
Test the noise level out using the BIOS' fan monitor or other apps.

Why are high-speed DDR5 kits (7600-8000) cheaper than 6000CL30 kits for the same capcity?
There are (were) a bunch of 48GB 7600-8000 CL36/38 kits for around $400, but the 6000CL30 kits start at $500. Is this just the gamerFOMO effect?
>>
>>107491036
That's what I don't understand really, I imagine both companies and people would want their own local ai. Cloudshit isn't the future, people are already tired of it. It feels like the aitard companies are crashing the pc market deliberately since they realised no one want cloudshit anymore.
>>
>>107491451
Because 6000MT/s CL30 EXPO is easy to apply to normies and retards.
Those higher speed kits need to be downclocked to 6000~6200MT/s or overclocked above 8000MT/s (with VDD/VDDQ adjustments) and changing the ratio of memory controller speed to memory module speed to 1:2.
If you're not retarded, get the cheaper, faster kits. But you'll need to cross-reference the board QVL to confirm they're Hynix dies if you want CL30 6000MT/s compatibility.
>>
>>107490961
How do I tell if my PSU has the right stuff to be compatible with a 5090? It's a Super Flower Leadex VII XP PRO 1200W 80+ Platinum
>>
>>107491482
The settings I'm describing applies to AM5.
Intel DDR5 boards with a 4-DIMM slots may also require some manual tuning if you buy those 7600MT/s or faster kits, but the bottleneck is usually the CPU's IMC.
>>
>>107491451
6000 just werks for the majority. Getting above 6400 to work is a gamble on the motherboard and imc so they don't sell anywhere near as well. Most people aren't willing to manually input timings either. They just go on reddit/google and ask what to get and everyone tells them 6000.

anyone here using non led/oled monitor/s? I had really bad eye strain and I had to stop gaming. I bought a e-ink monitor and my eye strain has vanished. Also my eye floaters has been reduced. I want to start gaming again. I've found some monitors without backlight like the Eazeye Monitor 2 but its 60 fps and has big input lag from what I checked. Some people mod their monitors by removing the backlight and putting incandescent bulbs on the back to illuminate them. I've found a company that you can buy already moded monitors but I don't know if its worth it. They have 2 - 3 models, the best of them has 100hz panel and costs around 550 euro. Should I check for projectors? Are there any good and cheap non LED projectors?

probably the only thing you can trust
even amazon now says things will be "dispatched by amazon" and that means they can hire some 3rd party delivery company to take it once it leaves their warehouse. It's only guaranteed if it's Shipper/Seller Amazon.

if it's being delivered by fedex that is a cosmetic option. the fedex driver will forge your signature and throw it on your front porch (or steal it)

It is not 100%, it all depends on geopolitics.
>Right now USA and China have calmed down, but will USA one day just decide to slap tariffs on Chinese electronics again?
>Will the US government keep pumping the AI bubble or withdraw funding and make it pop?
>Will there be another global catastrophe destroying the supply chains?
Since catastrophe is unlikely, it all comes down to whether you think Trump is done with his trade war or is he only starting, and how well Trump and Altman get along. Because without tariffs the supply chains will recover relatively quickly and if US gov stops pumping the AI bubble half of AI companies will literally go bankrupt and dump all of their shit on the market to pay off the debts, and that scenario is very damaging to you, since you could lose ~50% or even more of your money.

Are workstation laptops actually viable for work?
Do ws laptops age or break as quickly as gaming latops? They actually seem cheaper than Chinese minipcs.

I need 2 devices:
a small portable device that I can carry with me with a touch screen,
and one for being turned on for the most of the day, torturing it with animation in 2d and 3d, while I code in a vm, and hopefully to get into ai over holidays.l, but still relatively not as powerful as most "ga"ymer" builds.

Would adding a 75w gpu to old i5 even make sense? The gpu itself costs half of a ws with a4000 8gb and 32gb ddr5.

what is (Your) strategy in affording pc hardware? I'm honestly considering just stopping eating (slavegruelmaxxing)
you can easily save a ton of money
but getting a part time job will easily beat that though
>>
>>107494726
You're talking about a gen that doesn't even know what a file system is. Given that they buy less video games as well I'd believe they don't have the money for it either.

do I just rip the bandaid off now so its not a bigger even more painful bandaid in a year or two?
worst case scenario I can just sell it on ebay for at least what I paid if the shortage gets even worse and I don't end up using it right?

Can you guys tell me if this PSU is good for this set up?

ryzen 5 7600x
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Windforce OC SFF 16GB GDDR7 (GV-N507TWF3OC-16GD)
Patriot Viper Venom 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
SN850X 2tb
MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 750W (306-7ZP8B11-CE0)

Realistically, rx 580 is pretty good for poverty tier cards. Or you can go with the aliexpress no name video cards. I have a new Mllse rx 5600 xt that I bought for $110 on ebay. Works great, came up as a Power Color on gpu-z. YMMV, but budget would give people a better scope on what to look for.

I actually don't remember what prompted me to say that.

It's interesting to see how many people complained about the install process. You'd think people would do some research on components before buying them, that and read user documentation.

/pcbg/ bros with liquid cooling knowledge, plz halp me understand, one of the options for mounting radiator is pic related, i understand that this is not the recommended top mount, just trying to learn (have not assembled anything yet), proposed is Lian Li A3 mesh sided case and Arctic LF Pro III.

inb4 use some other cooler, could be any cooler, this is about airflow

>in pic related is the board itself getting enough airflow to keep e.g. RAM cool?
>what about the back of the GPU, my 5070 has a cutout there and it gets toasty.
>what-if for pic related there were not any bottom fans, leaving the GPU to manage it's own cooling?
>what-if for pic related i mounted the radiator in a pull config, to bring air in from the radiator and wash over the board, i know it would be warmed air but at lease it's airflow and positive pressure into the area?

sorry for so many questions but have not built a system in many years and feel like a /noob/
