>>107494699>The city generation levels would also crash. If your city gen crashes due to insufficent entities (default DP7 allows only 32k entities, (really 16k per frame generated (you can do 32k over 2 frames))):Then you need to use one of the newer compiles which features the extended networking. You can either1) Change the networking type from DP7, to LP7.or2) enable protocol masquerading (better option)(this gives backwards compatability for maps under 16k entities for regular Either are set by a cvar. (do "apropos protocol" in the console to find them).Other issues: that I've run into are some laptops don't have enough video ram to load the city gen textures full size after playing various other maps. You can set r_showsurfaces 3 if you want before loading the map and just show colours. You can also reduce the texture quality.DP doesn't seem to unload textures after it's loaded them. So they stack up in memory. But usually maps keep reusing them so that's probably why it's done that way(note: there are lowmem settings for it)Another option, if the loop counter is going to hard is to disable it on the command line. 100k loops per frame is the default limit. If you need more than 240k entities you can recompile the engine or use the 4million ent build in a zip file from some years ago. It uses a good amount of ram though, while the 240k does not use much more ram than normal so was the default I chose.
