There is no difference between a Linux user and an iPhone user.

When a normie buys an iphone, they don't really do it because they feel it's a better phone, they do it because of the social status, because of the brand. Same way, when you decide to use Linux instead of Windows, you don't do it because you really think linux is better than windows (even if you lie to yourself about this), you do it because you want to feel technologically superior to others, that you really support the open-source not like the average normie that uses a microsoft spyware closed-sourced hardware.
Coincidentally, iPhone users like to brag about their decision and the brand they relate to: selfies with the logo, online posts, etc...
Like it or not, you also do the same. You like to brag online, making threads on 4chan, about how the distro you use is the best among all the other ones. You want to feel that... superiority. Validated by your peers that you know more about technology than the average. When the reality is that you just fallen into the simplest of marketing tricks.

Unfortunately, this is a truth that many won't like to accept...
