Yeah, it's frustrating to use that thing like that. To be honest, the only other thing I got from using it in Battle Mode recently is that Hunyuan Image 3 has really pretty good anime aesthetics, but its knowledge is limited like it's the case with other Chinese models (rifles become over-under shotguns and things like that, stuff that one used to get with Dalle3).

On another note, there are talks about a cheaper Nano Banana 2 based on Gemini Flash 3, but I don't know if/where it can be tested. Does anyone know more about it? I'd curious about running some comparisons with NBP.

More likely that they will make a monkey/cheaper version, based on an updated flash variant of Gemini, like it's been argued. Personally I wouldn't say that Hazelnut completely destroys Nano Banana Pro, anyway. It doesn't offer native 2k for one thing and it looks more limited in its capability to imitate styles (possibly by design). Those are two clear advantages that NBP holds, as much as it's lacking in some areas (native anime style sucks, it loves to rewrite the prompt so much that often it ignores you).

On the note of Nano Banana Pro for free, it looks like Zenmux isn't offering its 3 (2 recently, I think) free gens any more.

The hazels were interesting. I think both NBP and Hazel have their pros. But NBP is best for what I like (history). Chink models are horrid at it.

I'm not even sure I ever used it before, but isn't it limited to 1k anyway? 4k is an overkill and it's apparently some kind of upscaling (in latent space or something), but 2k is native resolution and it's pretty much the way to go with NBP, imo.
