As a somewhat broke college student, should I buy a Google Pixel 9a for $350 and hope it lasts three years, or buy a new budget Motorola for $130 every year instead?
stop being poor and get an iphone
>>107527971I am still using my budget motorola that I bought like 2?3?4? years ago, dunno. They are good phones with vanila android.
Why would you consider buying a new phone every year if it is not broken, even if it is a cheap one?Personally, I would go for the Pixel 9a. I really like the design and its a good premium phone for that price.
The budget motorola will last more than 1 year even with planned obsolescence.
if u were really broke you’d get a 60 dollar moto g play used and keep that for a while, but you really wanna swipe that credit card don’t you?
>>107528116Because I bought a budget Motorola that only lasted about a year before it started to lag like hell and now after 2.5 years it's basically unusable. But the one I'm looking at is higher end than the model I own now so I think it could last longer. I'm just assuming it won't because it's so cheap right now>>107528134Yeah that's been my experience >>107528136I'm using my debit card nigga I have a job
Motorola has chop chop flashlight. google has soulless button press flash. choose moto
>>107528171I used to own the Moto G Stylus 2024 that used a Snapdragon CPU that performed okay before it got completely annihilated in a boating accident. Here is how the Power's Mediatek CPU compares to it. It actually looks okay and isn't actual ewaste like a few of the older Moto G cpus were.I would still go for the Pixel personally, but the Moto G Power should actually be a decent phone.
>>107527971Buy the Pixel 9a and install Graphene on it. It will work fine.
My 7a and later my father's lasted until after last summer when the battery started bulging up, so do the math and that's 3 years of use, he got 200$ and bought a 9a because he likes pixels now.
>>107527971buy a motorola and keep it for 3 years
>>107528259Why do you like the pixel?
>>107528400It's just a lot of smaller things that add up. The display goes up to 2700nits which is better outdoors, much better camera, and down to little things like the build quality and haptics. All I'm saying is that if you're gonna invest in something and try to make it last, I would try to get something a little nicer. Goddamn, I can't believe I'm shilling for a Google product.
buy a fairphone and install linux on it
>>107527971nigger, I still daily drive samsung a22 5g that was released like in 2021.
>>107528448 I could get a midrange Motorola for about 350 but I think the Pixels beat the midrange Motos. But This particular Moto is a pretty good deal
>>107528134this. just avoid budget and midrange samsungs.
>>107527971Buy the Motorola and use it for 5 years, buy something for a grand in 2030.
thinly veiled grapheneos shill thread
>>107530018Graphenos is good thoughbiet. It's like if android divorced google but sundar was forced to pay alimony through software updates. It's too bad windows doesn't have the same thing.
the 9a is also budget ass trash so it don't matter
>>107528477I'm using a 2019 S10+ which I only got a few months ago. Works fine. Only got it a few months ago to replace a oneplus 6 I had for 5 years. Phones are shit now
>>107531404The Pixel 9a is neither ass not trash, good sir. Take that back!
