The seething is a bit entertaining. AI is fantastic as a tool but its also probably a bubble thanks to every company trying to get in it.The whole AI Art conversation is a bit interesting. From my own case, I've see smaller Youtubers for example use pretty obvious ChatGPT generate images for their channels with Thumbnails and profile pictures. Does that mean that AI took money off an artists hands on fiver? Maybe, but I doubt most of these people would have paid someone to make art for their project and just got a generic image from somewhere else. If anything, I think that people that use AI art for that purpose are the ones that miss out the most just because they'll never get to mess around with a photo editor and get the satisfaction of making something themselves, which ironically, with free tools like Photopea, has never been easier.
>>107528600Ai shills have been saying for years now that it's 2 more weeks until all work is replaced by AI and we get luxury gay space communism o algo. There are certainly good uses for AI, It's just the bad outcomes are hitting the internet and artists particularly hard.I don't believe there will be mass unemployment either; new jobs will be created and living standards are likely to rise as they did with past technological advances.Overall I wish AI never advanced from where it was pre-ChatGPT because it changed things I care about for the worse, but it's important to try and find the positives.
>>107528600AI is getting pushed from the top down in ways that are blatantly not about usefulness but about meeting retarded executive slideshow metrics. There is a use for AI but not in the way the AI companies are shilling it. There is certainly not a use for AI at the level they want it.
>>107529975>I don't believe there will be mass unemployment eitherThe problem is that our current system can't exist without exploitation. Now that third world countries have a raised standard of living and aren't producing cheap shit for us anymore, and are competing against us, the elites have turned to exploiting their own citizens instead. We need a fundamental shift in the way our western economies and societies work because we cannot sustain the greed of a handful of Jew- I mean capitalist elites that want to own literally everything.
>>107529972>all the fussing and ranting & raging will settle downIt won't settle down. Article spammers, tracing artists, and other bottom feeders of the internet would continue to denigrate AI out of vengeance.
>>107529975I'm currently working on a project that will supposedly "replace" millions of white collar workers working in inventory management and accounting. After trying all kinds of RAG techniques, even implementing the famous fleets of AI agents approach, the accuracy is 70% at best, even in limited testing scope. The boss told me to hardcode things for the demo so it will meet 100% accuracy to get the money in first lmao. There's definitely a bubble being inflated by salespeople to clueless management. It's gonna pop and I'm not gonna be here for it.
>>107529873You say this but they're all tearing each other apart in art communities just with accusations of tracing AI art, or tracing over 3D models, which is what ixy has been doing and she even sold an online course that tells you to do exactly this and people were pissed.

>>107530058Well yeah those people are fucking hacks and just doing it for Xitter clout and aren't actually interested in learning art. Tracing has always been frowned upon in the art community. But not necessarily because of the plagiarism reason or whatever. It's because tracing takes no skill and the lines weren't actually drawn by you
>>107528600>how to justify your cult? Pretend the people disinterested in it are the cultists themselves. This is the sound of despair right here.
>>107528689It's a false dichotomy. AI is quickly going nowhere and producing nothing of value, but a pack of idiots continue latching on to it due to sheer ignorance or anti-social behavior. It was never us vs. them, unless you mean the AI grifter corporations wasting our natural resources and devouring our computer parts.
>>107528720Isn't that the main problem? The more these systems evolve, the more they prove to be a solution in search of a problem to solve. So far they've done nothing but cause issues, consume inordinate amounts of energy and inflate an economic bubble that's going to be hard to survive if it pops.

What are they going to do when no human artist will publish their stuff online anymore because they have all been pushed out by AI? Their models will stagnate with no new inputs. They could have had a mutually beneficial and sustainable relationship with artists by agreeing to pay them for the right to train their models on their work.

>>107531278>Their models will stagnate with no new inputsNo. Models continue to get better and more efficient, "artists" already provided all the training data that will ever be needed.

>>107531773>I don't see what the big deal being made in this article is. They deliberately trained a model wrong as a joke, and got upset when it gave wrong answersAnon, the big deal is how LITTLE wrong training data it takes to poison an entire model. All of the major agentic AI models are trained on general data from the internet. What happens when that data starts coming from other AI models that are also wrong? If .001% of that data is incorrect or poisoned, that's the end of your model, and we're rapidly approaching the tipping point where there's more AI generated data than human generated data. For reference, .001 is one out of 1000. Picture if, out of 1000 articles being scraped for AI training, one of them is poisoned or unusable. That has significant implications to the whole model, and almost all of these models are being trained through mass scraping.
ayy... I, don't care haha

>>107531983Sir you are genius!
>>107532048For one-shot prompting, perhaps. IMO, the artistic possibilities with 1.5/SDXL are far from exhausted. At some point there is no need for additional training data, just better interfaces to use the models. If it comes to pass that all new visual art is locked behind some kind of DRM, AI art will diverge rather than stagnate. And there will undoubtedly be scab artists who produce novel content to keep the machine fed.
