is there any use to gigantic full-tower cases in this day and age when HDDs are obsolete and you can have terabytes worth of storage in a small SSD?
>>107538966Media server/backup. HDDs are cheaper and more resilient to failure.
>>107538966>HDDs are obsoletesays who?
>>107538966>HDDs are obsoleteBro where do you keep all your data?
>>107539620I do. Sorry.
>>107539833clearly but i think you have the answer to the question then: people that use hard drives have use for gigantic full tower cases.
>>107538966Currently in a big build switcharoo right now and yeah, my second build used a full tower case:https://www.walmart.com/ip/Cooler-Master-HAF-X-Full-Tower-Computer-Case-with-USB-3-0-Ports-and-Windowed-Side-Panel-RC-942-KKN1/15268208 (its shit dont get it)Now like over a decade later, I am turning into a seedbox+local storage. At the time of using it though, it was actually very nice having room to tinker. I would actually recommend it if you plan taking stuff in and out all the time and not travelling a lot. It's also so high it turns into a table. It made me realize it's sort of nice buying like one specialized item everytime you do a refresh so you end up with all the parts needed for a future server, homelab whatever.
>>107538966I did an ITX build a few years ago and never again. Cable management was a cunt, heat was a problem. Felt like I was going to break something the whole time.I liked the end result but full tower cases are just easier, safer and colder if space isn't a constraint
Here's my current setup for example. I even built the steel rack with wheels on it so I can pull it out into the middle of the room and easily access both sides. In hindsight it was a bit of an overkill but I think it looks pretty sweet (when I can be fucked cleaning it)
>>107538966Big radiators for your custom water cooling loop.
>>107539634Nowhere since I bought seagate
>>107540039This OPI do still want a case that can house a uncompromising loop + storage. Most full towers make you half ass each
>look at current cases>gigantic>plastered in homo rainbow RGB fans>HDD trays: 2
>>107540625gaymen were a mistake, but like, really unironically, these retards have literally fucked the hardware market sideways
>>107540625> every case looks like a fish tank with LED barf inside> for literal peasants> one case looking gayer than the nextwe have lost the PC market
>>107539899I don't care. Sorry. Nice dubs counter though.
