There is a huge difference between €3 per package and a 100%+ tariff.

€3 doesn't hurt you unless you import loads and load of cheap items.
When you buy from a local shop you pay around €6 in shipping.

Buy it through an importer and avoid the fee completely, plus they will check if the chemicals used in the dildo won't give you ass cancer.

>the EU budget.

>NGOs were awarded €7.4 billion in the EU’s key internal policies such as cohesion, research, migration and the environment between 2021 and 2023, €4.8 billion of which was granted by the Commission and €2.6 billion by member states. However, these figures should be taken with caution, as there is no reliable overview of EU money paid to NGOs, the auditors warn. The information is published in a fragmented way, which hampers transparency, impedes analysis of whether EU funds are overly concentrated on a small number of NGOs, and restricts insight into the role of NGOs in EU policies.

Why do Europeans put so much stock in a logo that can be applied to anything?
There is often no number pointing to a testing body, customs dont have the resources to trace a manufacturer and demand a certification which is self certified anyway and isn't worth the kilobytes used to transfer it.
The CE requirement to get it in the EU makes them all the more incentivsed to fake it.

Europe is not america, where the governing party is chosen by roughly half the voters
You got governments that were voted by 10% of the population or even less, and that's assuming you're not governed by a coalition of totally incompatible parties in a temporary fake alliance, at which point no one knows what really happens behind the scenes to nominate a member for the commission

Imagine a system with like 5-15+ opposing parties that need to form coalitions just to get a few seats in parlaments and/or the government
Speak to a random European and it's extremely unlikely he actually voted for his own government or even for *someone* inside his own government; the whole EU system is 500 layers further away from direct democracy

I'm so fucking tired.
I like ordering shit from China and Japan because they actually sell fun stuff I'm interested in, or they sell the same stuff that local sellers sell but without a 700% markup.
It's also interesting how shipping within this pozzed shithole is more expensive than shipping from Japan to here.
Even the current import process is a complete humiliation ritual. They regularly have me pay VAT on shit I already paid VAT for on Ebay, except the customs office often literally just makes up a price instead of checking how much it cost and has be pay taxes on that. I also have to pay handling fees for this too.
The only thing that works in aliexpress and temu because those handle the shipment process end to end with their own warehouses. Everything else is like signing up for getting kicked in the balls.
Europe is such a disgusting "no fun allowed" shithole that discourages any kind of creativity and innovation.
>>

Most chinese people are extremely poor and have to work slave hours for barely a couple hundred dollars wage every month, the CCP's own bar to be considered extremely poor is around 700$ per year, I guess you can imagine the amount most people earn with those wages.
And have in mind that in china the income tax is 31.5% in the three big cities.

those are already VAT taxed when you checkout at ali. They want to add an additional 3€ because there is just too many micro packages straight from china.
Most items on ali however are already available in "Choice+", which means the items get prepackaged in china, shipped in bulk via air to europe and then shipped from europe to europe via DHL. For this shipments the 3€ fee will not apply.

I used to travel to Guandong a lot for work and it is just grim. Everything looks like it hasn't had maintenance in the last 20 years, and the people are all burned out husks. One time I was put up in a "fancy" hotel (that was well past its glory days) and in my limited mandarin I talked to a bellboy who must have been in his 60s. He was wearing this ostentatious uniform which was threadbare and had been patched in multiple places, and he told me that it had originally belonged to his father.

China is fucking bleak.
