Why should I install a Firefox fork instead of changing shit in my about:config?
>>107544309>not doing both
>>107544309It depends on how much time you've got. I prefer to do it all myself. I write down every change I make so I can easily revert it. Most forks are based on custom configurations that are available on GitHub and many of them explain every change they make so you can take inspiration from them. Stuff like Betterfox, Arkenfox etc.Like the other anon said, you can do both. In fact, depending on which changes a fork imports, you likely will have to. Mozilla won't stop slopping up their browser with all kinds of features that hinder more than they help, and I'm not just talking about the AI stuff. Still, as long as the option to disable them is in there, I won't complain too much.
>>107544309Because the current logo is ugly.
>>107544309Let me answer with a question:Is it a fox or a red panda? Because a firefox is a red panda, but the Firefox logo is clearly a fox. Does that make any sense? Is that what we deserve after phoenix and firebird? Do you really want to use a browser that lies to you?
>>107545005What you mean is respond, not answer.
>>107544309Not everyone likes to fiddle with their browser.
>>107544309Why'd you post that ugly old logo? The faux depth and poor application of color theory screams millennial design obsessed with gloss and gradients. Because cringelennial manbabies REALLY wanted everything to look like glossy gummy candies. Pic related is the actual FF logo. Notice how it doesn't look like shit. Delete that faggot shit off your android and don't post it again.
>>107545005I think they wanted to make it a red panda at some point, then switched to a fox on fire because it's easier for people to understand.
>>107545354Deprecated.
You shouldn't.
>>107544628Just change the icon. It's really easy.
>>107545502
maybe because Mozilla likes to bring out (((new features))) which opt you back in to marketing suggestions, regardless of your choices. it's better to have a browser that deliberately excludes any and all shit like that. i'm open to recommendations if anyone has any.
>>107544309yes, instal Birebox :D
>>107545957That looks more like Pedobear than it does Spurdo.
>>107544309There actually is no reason, I tried a few forks last week and they were all either slower or gayer than standard Firefox with custom configs. Do not bother.
>>107547667im experimenting for the first time with firefox + a good user.js and the experience is just so much better than shit like librewolf. im never going back to these meme forks, maintained by retards, its not worth it, browser just get slower
I'm tired of messing with about:config then having to undo changes just to update and apply them again, what's a good fork that doesn't pozz me too much
>>107548144Define pozz
>>107545354flatbrain
>>107544309It's fine as long as you don't mind spyware and Israel being sent all your browsing data
>>107548144backup prefs.js
>>107544616>picas opposed to chromium chugging so much RAM you'd have to empty your savings to afford enough of it.
>>107549625Kek. How many times does your fork actually phone home?
