>makes no original software of their own
>spends all day wanking off to how great they are for repackaging other people's software
>9/10 times they're some kind of insane uber lefty or right winger who holds strong convictions about shitty broken freetarded software and spends all day whining about it
openBSD is not like this. openBSD is about technical innovation in leanness and security. having a sane base system does wonders. openBSD authors do not have the TIME to care about muh xlibre muh wayland muh rust babababa politislop end user bullshit. it's really the best unixlike OS you could be using if you care about security, things working, not getting assraped by CVEs, and having a system that wasn't designed by retarded red hat know nothings.

all you faggots do is complain about how incompetent everyone else is while contributing nothing of value yourself. Yeah, everyone is terrible at building distros, you know best right. make your own distro, call it faggotOS if you're so right and skilled about everything. im sure /g/ would use it the project was successful.

A in reading comprehension to you

they release their work for free and people like op still act like entitled, insufferable cunts about it. most honestly be the most soul destroying shit it have people like that as your "users".
>>
>>107546177
free dogshit is still dogshit
the majority of linux distros are dogshit except for slackware maybe
>>
>>107546173
yeah, you're right, on second reading i see you're also a retard too, my mistake. hope i passed your aptitude test.
>>
>>107546059
When I played with FreeBSD, so many of the ports were "unmaintained", and I imagine OpenBSD is worse. Linux is garbage for a desktop OS (beyond loading a browser), and the BSDs have even less to offer as a daily driver desktop.
>>
>>107546185
post your distro bro. i personally think half you faggots arent qualified to judge a children's drawing. yet you'll make threads trying to take kernel developers. like you fucking retards could even compile a kernel let alone contribute to one?
>>
>>107546201
did i say anything about KERNEL developers you fucking drooling moron
and no, i'm not making a distro because i don't like linux. i use operating systems with a sane base system like BSD.
>>
>>107546201
>like you fucking retards could even compile a kernel
Running ./configure and make isn't a skill anon. I hope you are not deriving any sense of false accomplishment from seeing lines scroll by on your screen.
>>
>>107546215
It doesnt matter what "distro" you use. You are nobody of note. You do not use your computer for anything. A type writer would be good enough for you.

>>107546219
Building software is a skillset though, faggot. Compilation time ended up leading to Google creating an entirely new programming language. Maybe you've also heard of Nix?
>>

>You are nobody of note. You do not use your computer for anything.
it's ad hominem time i see
that aside, you are completely ignoring the point i'm trying to make, which is not that it's easy to make a linux distro or anything, just that the majority that exist are completely superfluous and are maintained by people who think highly of themselves while not actually creating anything new or bringing anything to the table
>>
>>107546370
>Building software is a skillset though, faggot.
are you being serious right now?
do you really think that compiling someone else's software is something that requires any kind of skill aside from copy pasting commands or pressing a button in an IDE?
>>
>>107546446
nta but yes especially in the broken non-backwards compatible world of freetarded software
>>
>>107546059
OpenBSD stores the wireless password unencrypted in a plain text file and can't even trim an SSD. Idk why you people are so gung-ho about it.

outside of Arch. All major distro maintainers are paid by Canonical and Red Hat, so they aren't "doing it for free" Arch users are probably rich college students living on daddies pension
