I like Gnome; it's clean and elegant.
>>107547801I'm actually on KDE myself, I know they say that this desktop environment is supposed to be better but... you know what they say... old habits they die hard.
>>107547801Gnome is genuinely the best DE if you only care about getting stuff done
>>107547801use case for elegance?
I don't get the hate that gnome gets either. My computer is a tool used to do computations, I don't care about customising shit I'll never care about.
>>107548015Nigga, the purpose of Gnome is precisely to be a minimalist DE. No one wastes time customizing it. You can, yes, but that's not the intention.
>>107547801Gnome sucks but everything else sucks more
>>107547801It tries hard to appear simple without being simple to use. When you see it first you think it's neat, then you immediately run into limitations the moment you actually want to use it.For that reason alone KDE is better, you can make it look simple and elegant without the constraints of Gnome.
only thing I change in guhnome is font and wallpaper.I wonder how to imitate ubuntu's font rendering cuz it's pretty good

>>107547801What makes you think 'like' is a metric?
>>107548111The subject is, first and foremost, the pillar of the world, the one who always knows, but is never known. Everything that exists, everything that appears, is for the subject.
>>107547812kde hasnt been MUCH better than gnome for a while tho. but yeah gnome is still insanity.>>107548058you described it pretty well, its not minimalist in a real good way, its also bloated as hell while shiping you shit usability and customisability.
