>>107548933Hello there Anon-senpai!I hope you are all having a nice day! It's a hot summer day already over here!
>>107549531based
>>107549531This dude FUCKS
I am once again asking if anyone has tried NewBie yet.
>>107549839Off topic general, nobody tested anything, everyone stayed in their comfort zone spooning with SDXL in the bed.
>>107549839>>107549868samefag
>>107549885retard
>>107549839yes everyone tried it when it got released and someone linked their testing uias everyone knew it's garbage and needs several months more trainingand you knew it yourself
>>107549901Thanks for the answer. SDXL is still king it seems.
>>107549868>not soifacing from every failed shitbake makes this general off-topicdo you even try to make your posts less obvious, ldg schizo?
>>107549919yeah it isthere's a chance we'll get something in ~2 months either from newbie or in 6+ months from zit (if the base ever releases), but for now sdxl is the only sane choice for local anime.
>>107549868This is the anime general, I'll try things when they're booru trained.
>>107549111As a person who explored options how to make transparent backgrounds with SDXL, I can share some insight. Background always affects image colors. Think, day vs night. All background removal neural networks suck at details (hair gaps, blurry borders due to SDXL diffusion). SDXL's method for generating transparent backgrounds (forgot its name) also sucks. But I guess for inpainting, small imperfections won't matter much.If you want not ideal but the best transparency, generate two images: one with black background and one with white. Use controlnets to enforce identical details. Then use standard matting algorithms to find background (LLMs can write a comfy node that does this for you).
I've been out of the game for over a year, is NoobAI/Illustrious 0.1 still the meta for anime or no?
>>107550185Thanks for your insight.>SDXL's method for generatinI think you are refering to RemoveBG
Illustrious 1.0 vs noobaiXLIve just returned from some time without genning, i hear those two are the current best models for gen? Is it true? If so, which is best?
>>107550223>>107550281noobai knows many times more artists and characters, vpred version works better with colors and prompt. I don't see any reason to use base illustrious over noobai or mixes
>>107550281they're about the same imo, you can even share loras between them most of the time.
>>107550281>>107550288Wait, what? Nobody's made anything better since NoobAI?
>>107550294Yeah, NoobXL is a fine-tune of Illustrious and any Illustrious LoRA works perfectly with NoobAI XL But in terms of quality, the newer versions of Illustrious are more consistent and slightly better at anatomy. But in my opinion it is outweighed by style variation of NoobAI XL. It is much easier to get rid of the annoying generic AI style and get interesting composition.I recommend using NTR Mix, as it is a merge of the two, that combines stability of Illustrious and diversity of NoobAI XL
>>107550281From my personal testing I find Illustrious way more convenient than Noob. Noob requires very specific sampler options which can get annoying quickly when you switch around models a lot. Illustrious also wins on based on the sheer amount of available Loras.
>>107546345>>107546523
>>107550329And the negative one no? You will never improve
>>107550270Nah, I just checked. I meant LayerDiffuse. It's a technique that allows generating transparent background natively, but the output isn't any better than if you use a separate model for bg removal. Also, RemoveBG looks like just another separate model for bg removal.
I am sure there are some use cases where Noob is better than Illustrious but for simple generation I just dont see the appeal. Oh and just to be clear >>107550321 when talking about using Illustrious I mean generating with finetunes like WAI-NSFW
Civitai shouldnt have added the Noob category. Illustrious and Noob are very close together. Noob is trained on Illustriousv0.1.
>>107550361>I mean generating with finetunes like WAI-NSFWthat isn't a finetune. it's a shitmix. and it has more noob in it than illustrious.
>>107550307NTR is a lot of fun and I enjoy it in terms of the wacky ouputs it can come up with, but it's also very unpolished and requires me to do more fixing in post, or rolling the gacha for coherent results.
>>107550375Finetunes like Hassaku and WAI destroy Noob IMO
>>107550398ironic shitposting is just shitposting.
>>107550407Why? NoobAI is pretty bleh. It's not that interesting or good, it doesn't offer much of an improvement. It's main selling point is that supposedly it knows artists and characters, but in my experience it's not very good at either, and not as good as just using a lora.
>>107550418Training loras for illustrious is ridiculously easy. It soaks concepts, art styles and characters like a sponge and usually around 500 will give you great results.
>>107550418>f-f-fine tunes like <shitmix>!They aren't finetunes. Claiming they are isn't even ignorance at this point after being directly told so, it's just shitposting.
>>107550439those people don't care and i don't think they're even shitposting, they're just being aggressively ignorant. don't waste your time
Illustrious doesn't need you of you having to check certain options inside your UI to work so.... Illustrious is the clear winner and even if you activate pred for Noob...it barely works.
>>107550418>just use a lora bro!if someone unironically says this you can tell they don't gen anything but 1girl standing
>>107550398Hassaku and WAI are trained mixed from Noob
>>107550503I'm pretty sure Hassaku is definitely not mixed from Noob, V2 is trained on its own and don't include any merge
>>107550503No, you don't get it, they also got a handout from a chinese university to spend 200k bucks worth of compute
>>107550223Yes, unless you want realistic models, Illustrious still has the better realistic models.
>>107550526>trained on a shitmergefucking lmaoalso a microfinetune isn't really a "finetune" in the actual sense. it's glorified lora training but "different."also v3 is back to being a shitmerge.
>>107550223Cat Carrier v5 onwards (Illustrious v2-based) are pretty good
>>107550554why use an anime bias model for realism?
For those thinking the NoobAI defenders are being kind of cagey and gaslighty, that's because they are. I've used NoobAI extensively and it's just less capable.
i like wai more than noob but noob seems to be the only option for anime on krita
...poetic, spitting /ldg/ to defend a thread of sloppers...who would have thought? Good job /adt/ schizo, good job...
It looks like Forge Neo doesn't have the interrogate CLIP options that A1111 comes with by default. How do I get it back?
I see many people say Illustrious models are way better than Pony models. But why? When I compare them, they look similar, and anime is much easier to get with pony models. What is the real strength of Illustrious? What can Illustrious do that Pony cant?
I've been using Illustrious for few hours and my results are not as great as I saw online. What are the best settings to generate images with great quality? Currently I am set as follows:Steps: 30CFG: 7Sampler: Euler_aScheduler: NormalDenoise: 1
>>107550718https://www.google.com/search?q=how+does+pony+compare+to+illustrious+in+stable+diffusion
I downloaded SDXL from the Stable Diffusion website. Is Illustrious another version of Stable Diffusion, or is it just a Checkpoint that I can use with SDXL?
what causes this
>>107550734I personally had better results with Illustrious with a CFG of 4-5 and Karras as scheduler
>>107550734Results are a combination of the checkpoint, loras, prompts, upscaling, etc. as well as the things you list.
Nyxa Magazine!the letters are weird tho
>>107551055If you can, try inpainting the letters with qwen image edit. Should do way better.
WAI NSFW is the best local model for anime, and that's why it's the most popular. This post will make one and only one schizo absolutely seethe, perhaps hard enough to samefag. He will probably whine about it not reproducing styles as well as other models (skill issue).
>>107550734Use WAI and you'll get much better results.
>>107551119Which version of WAI NSFW tho?
>>107550686>It looks like Forge Neo doesn't have the interrogate CLIP options that A1111 comes with by default. That's a very good thing.Accidentally hitting that button is the worst thing ever. It takes so fucking long. FUCK that button. Absolutely rage-inducing. Whoever decided to put that button right next to the fucking gen button is a goddamn moron of the highest caliber.
>>107551136Some people swear 14 is better than 15 but I have never had a problem with 15. Try both and see for yourself.
>>107551149I remember using the v10 and liking it quite a lot, more than the newer ones.
>>10755113611 is my favourite but everyone's preferences are different
At the very least you'll want to at least have 15 in your checkpoints folder for when you want to gen newer characters and take advantage of the updated Danbooru dataset, even if you end up wanting to use older versions for older characters.
>>107551211Man I can't even think of anyone I'd really want to gen from the past year or two, I just don't keep up with current-season anime the way I used to
>>107550382I like the output, was comparing between latest WAI, OneObsession, PrefectIllu and other ones that I won't remember and NTR still "has it" obviously it's more unstable in terms of samplers, elongations or deformities.Btw tomorrow will be one year since NTRmix was released.
>>107551267I still watch a minimum of 15 shows every season because western entertainment is fucking pozzed dogshit.
>>107551055God, please turn down the CFG, this kind of fried sharpness is not suitable for epileptics.
>see a notification for a new comment on Pixiv>ooh, that's rare>check it>it's a fucking communist bugpeople meme; ;
using seedvr2, is there a model that doesnt sharpen it quite so much? or should I like.. apply a light blur at the end, or a couple step resample..?
>>107551412Video restoration?
Speaking of which, post your checkpoint toolboxes>NoobAI XLMainly for lora generation at this point>WAIExplained ad nauseam>NTR>>107550382>ChosenSimilar quality to WAI with a stronger anime style I like>walnutVery clean, plays nice with solid linework styles>flaxNice grainy quality that aids some looks, especially scanned/retro>VisionaryNice middle of the road between anime and semirealism, handles both>Diving (nijiMutedColorReal)Preferred style of semirealism, great for fantasy
>>107551456still using coco-illustrious 7.0. dont have much space so im stuck with a single model
>>107551383I don't know how you can stand that, the vast majority of anime is absolute garbage. No offense but it kind of reinforces the point that being fed too much identity politics makes people settle for crap so long as it's perceived as not being "outgroup". I think it's quite nice not being easily triggered by things.
>>107551495>oekaki
I love the character designs from older anime. Modern designs are way too overdesigned with all the unnecessary ornaments and details. I get that everyone's trying to stand out in a competitive market, but at this point the designs are just overbaked and exaggerated as fuck. So yeah, if I'm using modern checkpoints it's just for the stability, not because I actually want those overdesigned modern 1girls.
>>107551149v15 has been noted to have one specific flaw which is it starts losing track of the prompt above 300 tokens. v14 is better at keeping up prompt comprehension. Granted it's probably not an issue unless you do something like comics and need everything in every panel tagged.
>>107551506>I don't know how you can stand thatI am a man of simple pleasures, and can tolerate a lot of crap as long as there's cute anime girls.
>>107551456Good post for a newfag. I get bored doing that, most Illustrious checkpoints end up pointing more or less in the same direction as the noob ones. The only detail is some bias in aesthetic terms that they hand you without you needing to tag, but almost all of them are trained with the same outdated tools so the same structural flaws keep showing up.
>>107551619I don't think I've ever come even close to a 300 token prompt.
>>107551391Please elavorate, I don't see a problem with the sharpness but Maybe I will improve something I cant see right now. My cfg is at 2.5
>>107551652>2.5AAAIIIIIEEE WHY IS IT SO CFGISH THEN??? YOU HAVE TO TURN SOMETHING DOWN, I DONT KNOW BUT YOU HAVE!
>>107551652I don't see anything wrong either. Also cute gen for both this one and the other one.
>>107551412You should ask the same question in /ldg/, they know more about that stuff, never seen anybody here talking about what you are asking.

>>107551191box?
>>107551866Me on the right~
>>107552251I agree that comfy is clunky for genning 1girls for fun with default settings. But it's the perfect tool for automatic image gen and processing without getting too deep in code.A1111 clones are too rigid for custom workflows.Writing my own script would take much longer and make it a pain to test different ideas quickly.Once the workflow is done, I can set the prompt and let it generate a bunch of fully processed sprites in background. I don't care how messy the graph is (it's not that messy actually. there are just a lot of previews at every step).
>>107551383Where do you watch your anime?
>>107552462animebytes
>>107552453we need something in between. simple enough for noobs to not get overwhelmed and granular enough for pros to make custom workflows and tooling. comfy seems to only care about automation but I would kill to have tools you can customize instead like brushes, layers etc. The krita plugin and invoke have the right idea
