I just want to play my console games in a window on my desktop for convenience, but from what I'm reading, all capture cards add significant lag. Anyone have experience with this?
>>107553502>Anyone have experience with this?Yeah, me. I got a card for exactly this. It added so much lag it was unplayable, end of story. You might as well install another monitor and game there
get a second monitor instead. i got a cheap 13" monitor that I use for my ps4 and also as a second monitorthe setup is kind of convoluted because its>ps4 into hdmi splitter that splits between the TV and second monitor>second monitor also has a splitter that switches between ps4 and PC signalso its nice because i can either use the TV + two PC monitors, or my main PC monitor + the mini monitor for PS4
>>107553735Are there any small monitors that actually have good specs for gaming?
>>107553735OP could have a switch between main monitor and small monitor, small cheap one to keep eye on things and big good specced one to play or use desktop.
>>107553502I wanted to say just use PiP but I keep forgetting I use a TV as a monitor.
>>107554706My PG32UCDM has PiP, what I want is to be able to have audio coming from the headphones connected to my PC, have a window that can be full screened or minimized, and easily alt tab to discord or what have you.Almost like having an emulator open but no issues with CPU limitation or shader cache because I have the actual switch 2 hardware.
>>107554706I forget that's even a feature in monitors sometimes outside the recent incident where I had to fix a security monitor and they enabled pip
>>107553502I bought an Elgato 4K S recently, and I played PS4 Bloodborne through it just fine (video input displayed on OBS).But I had set up a dedicated audio source for the capture card to eliminate the audio syncing issues.
>>107553502>capture cards add significant lagUnless you're playing something like e-sports titles you won't notice. When people are saying extreme latency they mean like 30ms.
>>107554706My old 22" monitor had PiP, DVI-D, D-Sub and component intput, I used to play my psp in it
>>107555123I have a ugreen 1080p capture device and even when its just 1 or 2 frames of lag I can't properly play mario kart world, can't react the same as when I play normally
>>107554782Wait for emulation I guess for best experience.
>>107555154Modern system emulation is kinda slop, because they do all sorts of speed hacks to make it run at a decent speed
>>107555196>decent speedCurrent modern system emulators run games better then the base systems, it's pretty much limited by the host system, it's all dynamic translation and recompilation.
>>107555216I can run ToTK at 144 FPS 4k kek. Not very demanding game tho.
>>107555222Yeah, the actual problem is compatibility but what runs usually runs well or better.
>>107553656>>107553735Have you ever heard of kvm switches?
