crazy to think most people run 6 bit + frc panels these days and don't have true 8 bit or 10 bit color
>>107567790works on my TFT from 2014
>>107567790How come I can see the difference in that pic then?
>>107567790Most panels are true 8bit these days already, it's more that many 10bit panels are still 8+FRC. Like 6 year old IPS panels that cost 300 bucks have true 8bit even.
>>107567790wtf u faggots still on 10 bit???
>>107567790>>107568058>tfw only 10 bituwu
>>1075677908/10 bit color panels are outdated anyways, not like it matters since our eyes cannot see past 4bit & 24fps.
>>107568467It's hard to tell anymore what's a joke, bait or just pure retardation anymore.
>>107568474Hey man no need to insult me for straight facts.Tried OLED monitors too at 280hz, no difference.
>>107568467Bro better check your cables, your refresh rate seems to be variating!
>>107568547It Variates to 24hz most of the time because it detects what our eyes are able to see so it doesn't waste GPU power.
32 bits is used to create nice light and gradients digitally, vfx, color grading, etcbut I don't think it makes sense for display, sounds kind of like a waste of space, when u can just render to 8 and have literally the same info

8-bit is fine for SDR.10-bit is required for HDR to avoid banding. What's more important is how accurate your panel is and what other defects it may have. MiniLED has terrible haloing due to software problems.
>>107567790>>107568058>tfw all displays in the 90s had infinite bit depth
>>107567790hello op, thanks for the thread. I'm looking to buy a new monitor. Do you know any good website to check if the monitor panel is true 8 bit or 6bit + 2 frc? Most manufactures lie about the true specs.
