>>107568952wrong answer dumb dumbI use firefox with custom user.js
>>107568926explain why
>>107569376There's no benefit to having a third party repackage Firefox for you; trusting literal whos on GitHub to mess with your browser is a recipe for disaster, and they offer nothing you can't do yourself with a custom user.js or even your own compilation flags.
>>107569566I've read somewhere that librewolf completely removes telemetry from the source code and if you use firefox you can only disable it. Do you have any benefit from this? If not, can you give me a guide how to harden firefox and disable telemetry so I can delete librewolf?
>>107569661I use a slightly modified version of Zero user.js:https://pastebin.com/PRQyRv6xGo through each section and make any changes and/or removal of settings you don't want. Should only take about 10 to 15 minutes. Having used every Firefox fork, including LibreWolf, I will say that LibreWolf consistently gets about 35% lower performance than hardened Firefox (comparing on https://browserbench.org/Speedometer2.0/), so I would say the switch is definitely worth it.
>>107569748thanks
>>107569566Truth. When it comes to something as important as your browser, I don't think you should trust literal whos to tinker with it. They might intentionally or accidentally leave security flaws in there.
Daily reminder to not trust hostile states when it comes to technologyhttps://www.theregister.com/2025/12/15/amazon_ongoing_gru_campaign/
So iRobot collapsed, the EU blocked sale to Amazon so now the rmains is bought by a Chiense company. A win? Elsewhere, I see Trump being blamed for this, TDS is not ending anytime soon.A more repssing question is if the Chinese company will be able to access camera images from the Roomba vacuum cleaners. Media spends all their efforts on TDS but will not blame anything Chinese so I am searching for an answer elsewhere.
>>107570112If you let a company crawl through your home, map every corner of your life, all because you couldn't spare ten minutes a week with a vacuum… well… you get what you get. And you earned it.
>>107570178It takes a lot more than 10 minutes to vacuum my home. I am not too worried about US agencies knowing my floor plan, they have other and even more precise ways to obtain those. I am more worried about China and find it puzzling that media was able to go so deeply into TDS that they didn't cover this. Even the comments and fora relating to those articles are completely lost though here we can blame the wumao. In any case, I use my Roomba in darkness. I can tell it struggles with the SLAM since it rarely finds its way back to the docing station, and then only by random.
>>107569748just completed the configuring. It's blazing fast. Thanks again.
