>most mainstream software has "dark mode", so do websites
>somehow they still do the...
>...WHITE SPLASHSCREEN
Could we fucking not, please? Why the fuck isn't the default splash dark gray or black?

I am currently posting from the "Shelter for the men technologically abused", as I have been and I am being constantly violated. The necessary authorities will be notified soon.

This is a Firefox bug it has nothing to do with any individual website.
>>
Anyone using le darkmode~ is simply too fucking dumb to set their monitor brightness according to their environment.

dark mode fetishization is the most reddit normalfag coworker meme tier retardation to infect technology in the last decade

I'm looking at you Lightroom. So fun to alt tab out of Lightroom and back again in the middle of the night while editing photos in a dark room only to get jabbed in the eye with a cock that has the brightness of 10000 suns

Brave also has the same issue. Especially annoying with brave's new tab since the flash still happens even if you literally just configure it to be a solid color, which means it should take no time at all to load. It's like nobody gives a shit about quality or uses their own product anymore.

Tired of this gaslight. 0xFFFFFF is a post-2010 phenomenon and did not exist for old computers or paper media.

The problem isn't the brightness, it's the color temperature.
Dark mode is just a lame alternative to night light.

>Open the "Settings" window
>Be greeted with a similar white splash-screen bullshit for a split second
I'm tired boss.

there's no situation where pure white splash is acceptable and no monitor brightness level at where it's not looking like shit
>inb4 nightmode, nightlight, readermode
i also love when all the colors are red tinted

Fucking retards.
If your monitor is set to a brightness that makes 100% white on it have a similar "brightness" to a sheet of paper you hold next to the monitor or to the white wall behind it then it is perfect to read off completely effortlessly.
It makes me laugh when I see people have their 2020s monitors set to 100% brightness trying to read white text on black background and gaslighting themselves into thinking it is "more ergonomic" that way.

let them be.
in a couple years there will be "official 100% scientifically proven" studies that show that dark mode fucks with your eyes and head and suddenly the cattle will do a 180° because science said so instead of simply following common sense and what had worked perfectly fine in the past.

I agree, but color temperature sucks when you do image editing late at night.
