My autistic ass is actually excited.
I was following the Fruitfarms discussion on captcha development, and I got really into the idea of training a program to generate simple Bongard puzzles, with the user needing to state the differences between the two sets of shapes. The symbols would be drawn dynamically by constructing statements out of restrictions, like, "round long shapes with holes that like to stay in the left of the frame."
Then you remove a "word" and draw the counterexamples, and ask the user to pick additional symbols representing the change.
No current LLM to my knowledge would be able to consistently parse and reason about all the symbols, then decide what symbols need to be selected to complete the challenge with complex enough rules, proper distortions/noise, and enough examples. You could even have rules for thing-like shapes like animals or types of food. You may easily update the program with new rules on a regular schedule. If you simplified it a bit, you could sell it to imageboards, forums and such as a strong local hCaptcha alternative and have strong guarantees you would not need to change it for years.
This is basically exactly that, but with a reduced set and a simpler way of having the user "state" the difference. I'm kinda ashamed I didn't think of this way. To be fair, ChatGPT might be able to do this one though.

now condense all of them in 3 rows of 5 pics on a single file (320*192) and you can solve it in one prompt.

That's like 100 input tokens.
Let's say it outputs a generous 500 tokens

That makes the cost 1.3 cents per captcha. Compare to a 2000 cents 4chan pass, that's about ~1500 posts a year.

There is no point in buying a pass if you make less than 1500 posts a year (and also won't let you ban-evade if you upset a janny)
>>
Making a new THREAD is really difficult. Seriously, try for yourself. Completely different than just posting IN a thread.
>>
>>107578921
also if sonnet 4.5 is as good for that purpose, you're looking at 2500 posts a year, and 7500 posts a year if haiku is as good for that purpose.

And that's not including all the savings a certain spamming/ban-evading platform could make by implementing caching and batching.

jesus at what age are they supposed to do that test? I've been speaking english as a second language at conservation level since I was ten years old, but there are words there I've never read or heard in my entire life. At best I can infer their meaning by taking the familiar base of the word, like incensed -> something to do with incense, which we call those candles that burn with a distinct odor (that some people like).

I never heard anyone ever say or use the words incensed, antecedent, humdrum, despondent, cliquish or galvanized.
>>
>>107579275
>incensed -> something to do with incense
Wrong
It means angry
Like "incendiary" -> "causing flames"
"Incense" for the candles are also from that source
>>
>>107579001
if japs were willing to learn english their economy would be better and they would have avoided the lost decades.
>>
>>107579275
Also "galvanized", one of the wrong answers in the mountain climbing one, means "energized", "encouraged", "boosted", from a very old word meaning "electrified".
Some of these examples are what I'd call "newspaper words". They're the kind of slightly over-dramatic words that you'd find in a newspaper headline but not actually use in real speech.
>>

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the explanation. I kind of wish I'd read sources that use these a wider vocabulary, sometimes I'm ashamed of how limited my English knowledge is. Then again, it is a mongrel language, so I shouldn't feel bad.

The captcha has different difficulty levels. Open it up in private browsing and it gets 3 tests each with 5 images. Similar to how the old one required you to select words with dots above them. But, I didn't check it on /v/ yet, the captchas there have a much higher difficulty by default.
Then once you made several posts it goes down to 2 tests with 3 images each, similar to how the old captcha used simpler texts when it became easier to do.

Which is just further proof that 4chan tracks how many posts you make.
>>
>>107579369
Same. 4chan is filled with so many smarmy liars that it's hard to tell if this is an issue being introduced by a browser/adblock or something at the root, because you'll have 'git gud' faggots swarming any report of it not working.

>>

The dots one caused issues because I was conditioned before that one to get letters to reveal themselves to type them in, so sometimes I would end up putting letters that didn't have dots from letters that were revealed with using the slider.
>>
>>107579357
Don't feel bad at all! You seem entirely fluent to me. English is for using and communicating. You don't really need very many words for that.
If you come across a word you don't know, you can gather its meaning from context, usually, and add it to the toolbox.
>>
>>107579390
Nevermind, I just checked it on /v/. It wants me to wait a minute or verify my email.

>>107577973
The wait timers are STILL THERE, but they are dependent on your browser and maybe which board you check. I used Chrome on /g/ in private mode and got no wait timer. With Firefox private mode I get wait timers. Three times in a row now.
>>
>>107579390
since the new captcha it has always been 1 time, 3 images, on every board i visited.

guess they like me.

I had this problem with 4chanxt.
I disabled it and now it works, but at what cost.
I am forced to use the native extensions now.

>>107579413
>If you come across a word you don't know, you can gather its meaning from context, usually, and add it to the toolbox.
Yeah, that's a trick I've recognized early on, I could use it to figure out the meanings of unknown words with fairly high accuracy.

Still, it's not fullproof, I got incensed wrong. And for galvanized the only similar word I remembered was galvanization which is a form of metal processing and I had no clue what that could mean. "Strengthening" would be my guess since that's what you usually need metal for.
>>
>>107579469
With the metal processing, galvanzing means zinc-coating to prevent rust. The name comes from the very early electrical experiments of Luigi Galvani.
>>
>>107579442
No problem! If you like, I can dive deeper, or prepare an itemized list of some kind.
>>
>>107579400
There are many people here who have terrible insecurity issues. Stop trying to take away their only justification for why they are smart and maybe you wont get spammed
>>
>>107579357
Yeah it would be nice if people used a more varied vocabulary on the internet.
The other week someone here used the word onanistic. It's a lovely word that I had been wanting to come across for a long time.
>>
>>107579564
haha yes, onanism is one of the most prudent way to describe masturbation.

the ball captcha is illogical because there is more than 1 logic that can be applied to it.

For example, I got 4 panels: only 1 in panel it had a case of balls touching each other. Therefore, that is different

Yet, the captcha fails

absolutely garbage captcha made by low IQs, your captcha must have only 1 correct solution, it cannot have more than 1 possible logic that can be applied to it. Jesus christ IQlets
>>
>simple IQ test is filtering all the browns and retards
Should have done this years ago
>>
>>107579594

anothar issue: the ball captcha has a ball touching the corner of the square in every panel but one, therefore that one panel should be it

another: the ball captcha in every panel has balls aligned either vertically or horizontally: except one. Therefore, that one is differnet

yet, the captcha fails in all cases

the ball captcha is broken

there are tons of different logics that can be applied to the ball captcha and I still have not found the special one the devs thought it was meant to be the right one

it's probably pairing, but who knows
>>
>>107577659
Bots had it figured out inside of a day. They always do. Captcha does nothing but frustrate legitimate users.

>For example, I got 4 panels: only 1 in panel it had a case of balls touching each other. Therefore, that is different
I think that one is asking you to choose the largest number of balls, since only one had four balls or whatever.
>>
>>107579627
>it's probably pairing, but who knows
It's number. I just had one. Three balls, two big balls almost touching, two small balls far apart.
The correct answer was three balls.
>>
>>107579627
The objective is so poorly worded that it manages to not only filter out the retards but also the people who are too smart leaving behind an ocean of midwits whose only form of pattern recognition is counting. This is the final form of this site

what approach did you use? Replace the entire TCaptcha code? Or just monkey patched it cleverly? Or is it not for the inline extension at all?

The color, obvious. That's a "stronger" difference than just the number.
>>
>>107577492
I really like this. I think this is going to filter out a small chunk of the world that comes here.
>>
I'm just annoyed that my Chrome browser is fucked up on my tablet. It was doing this before the new captcha, but it says I typed or did the captcha wrong regardless if it's actually correct or not. It was super obvious when we had the numbers yesterday and it was still borked. I genuinely don't know what to do. I'm only posting from my PC now. ,y Kuroba app is broken now, and I can't post from Chrome mobile. I've tried clearing my cookies and everything. Halo.

What if they used mensa online IQ test?
You do it once and can post for a month with no captcha.
Everyone who scored below 140 is banned immediately.
>>
I really, really wanted to see if there was a huge downturn in posting rate when the captcha was deployed (humans having trouble to a certain extent, but also LLMs no longer able to spam,) but 4stats doesn't have the graphs any longer.
>>
>>107577630
No typing
>>
>>107579674
I just wish the user input would be simpler, like list all objects at once, have me click on the right ones and press post. Needing to dick with the slider is annoying and I ALWAYS forget to click the "Next" button which is needed to generate the complete token you can post with. If you don't click the Next button, the captcha won't be valid even if you selected the right one.

reasonable, it appears to be "most circles" but somehow you feel wrong for choosing it. how is it "not like the others?"
the "unpaired" definition i was going on about makes it more intuitive. it isn't like the others because there isn't another picture with four/however many dots, whereas the others form units

The janjans should come up with a new captcha every month. That'll keep the proxies and bots on their toes.
Also, they should implement a javascript integrity / fingerprinting script to detect ban evaders, even if they change IPs and clear their cache and cookies. It's worked well for other sites, it should work well for 4chan.
