Is this the right thread to ask for microphone advice?I recently got picrel, but I'm finding the desk stand to be way too short. I'm thinking of getting a taller adjustable desk stand like a Rode DS2, or maybe a mic arm, but I don't want something too big and bulky.
FUCK
>>107579333Anyway... nice trips. Any recommendations for an HD650? Yes I already taped it up and it still works fine...
>>107579333Chances are you can just snap it back into place. I disassembled the whole thing during headband change.
>>107579453Nah, part of the plastic headband broke off.
>>107579465Basically any two component epoxy glue is the answer, unless you are looking for an excuse to consoom another headpos.
>>107579491It's actually as good as normal, the way I fixed it.
>>107579491good goy
Any good headphone yet?
>the headphone general couldn't survive on its own and got merged with random misc shitwas it the stax spammer that caused it? or the beyertranny?
>>107579333I hope Senny still sells spares, otherwise you're probably gonna wanna take a look at Capra Audio's Printables page.
>>107579333Is that food on your floor? Disgusting.
>>107582113I need to clean up, so what? You're being a dickhead.
>>107582465what a throwback
>>107582465I remember seeing this like 10 years ago.But why is it so hard for manufacturers to just make a headphone design that doesn't have glaring flaws? Holy shit, does nobody test those things?>SennheiserPlastic headband lmao. Enjoy a 10% chance of this happening to your pair eventually, at least it's easy to replace on pairs that use seperate inputs for each driver. Thank fuck 490 Pro has metal instead.>AudezeBuilt out of magnesium so they're comically heavy. Could have just used aluminium or titanium but they wanted to be extra autistic. And the fucking loosening screws, holy shit. Even loctite isn't a permanent solution.>Hifimanlol, lmao>StaxIt's fucking plastic. Who makes these things?>DCAAll would be cool if not for the pads somehow losing shape over time. Did he fix that yet? Apparently he did but my new pads look the same as the old pair so this seems like bullshit to me.>ZMFPretty good, I admit. Also, the new captcha is aids, holy shit. Fucking kill me.
>>107583544The Fostex TH series headband has had a pretty significant redesign but something tells me that hinge issues will still be the one thing that remains the same
Just received FT1 Pro and listened to some of my favourite tracks and I don't think I like the way they sound, at all.Technically they are fine, no major issues like channel imbalance or distortion or anything, but the more complex music gets blurred into a mess with no details. Is that something that can be solved with EQ?Also they are quite comfortable, just right pressure and curvature, idk why people recommend adding comfort straps.
>>107583705>Is that something that can be solved with EQ?Yes. That graph doesn't track with my own experience, either. Maybe it's unit variation but X2HR has boosted treble from what I remember. More treble will always accentuate the details so you're probably used to the boosted treble X2HR has. Try a high shelf filter at, say, 3k. And keep boosting by 1dB until music sounds right to you. If that doesn't help you're probably just not a fan of that headphone.
Thinking of buying used WH-1000XM3s and replacing the pads+battery for a total of ~50€. Used XM5s are going for 200€ where I live. Are the newer models that much better?
>>107583978The 5 is actually more fragile
>>107583825>high shelf filter at, say, 3kThanks, +3dB at 2500 helped a lot, with it claps and snaps sound snappy, and multiple female vocals with different lines over each other are more distinguishable.Maybe I even prefer +4dB at 2500 followed by -1dB at 5000, and a veeery gentle bass boost. So basically the opposite of rtings graph expectations.
>>107584797>So basically the opposite of rtings graph expectations.Their measurements are often not very accurate. Their FT1 Pro graph is completely different from the one solderdude posted, for example. I don't know what rig they use for it but it's probably just not a very accurate model.>Thanks, +3dB at 2500 helped a lot, with it claps and snaps sound snappy, and multiple female vocals with different lines over each other are more distinguishable.NP. If something sounds too sharp with this EQ you can try putting another high shelf filter at 10k or above and lowering it by the amount you boosted the treble with in the previous filter. Since generally boosting things >10k can lead to sharpness and you can't measure that area of the FR accurately.
