Rust evangelism being off putting and skepticism inducing is also something I've heard from normie devs.Before I learned rust I assumed it was C++ but trendy and the supposed benefits of learning it were all inflated by hype. It's much nicer than I thought it would be and I appreciate that it's designed to be easy to use while trying to enforce good practices. It's also less eye cancer inducing to look at compared to C++
