1. Install Distrobox
2. Install some non Ubuntu distro in a container
3. Install steam package and launch
4. Repeat steps 1-3 until your shit works
If you switch your whole host OS because of steam, you don't know what the point of using Linux is. If your hardware and drivers work, don't use anything except the distro you want to use.
