The dumbest plug design in the world, bar none.

its 250V and safe,
hows that 125V working out for ya?
>>
Cope
>>

since every other country's shit plugs have the wire coming out the centre, these have a smaller footprint.
you can put furniture right up against the socket and still have something plugged in.
>>
>>107585119
If you spin the cable above your head you can knock someone out.
>>
>>107585119
>Plug into wall socket
>It says attached without any support or sagging.
Simple as, it just werks.

Just fine?

It's literally the best engineered plug that has widespread use.
American plugs are loose like their women.
>>
>>107585119
The prongs used to be circular but in the 1950s the UK changed them to the rectangular ones seen here, ostensibly because it fits more securely.
In South Africa and India they still use the round-prong ones.
>>
Do they have a fuse inside? I watched a video about them a while ago and some of them have a fuse inside and the wire is bent, if you pull the cord and somehow it breaks, the neutral dissconects and the hot remains unexposed, pretty neato

>go to country outside of UK/Ireland
>genuinely think I'm about to be electrocuted when plugging anything in or out because the plugs and sockets are so loose and shoddy
How the fuck do people use twoprongshit on a daily basis?
>>
There are some fun hijinks we can get up to in America with our plugs but the bongs actually got this right (because they had to rebuild their whole grid in the mid-20th century).
>not cucked to 120 V
>no lateral strain
>but you can rewire the whole thing anyway
>safe for kids
>switches on every wallplate

The only thing I don't like about British wiring is they do high-capacity ring circuits instead of branches and you have to replace fuses in the plugs instead of flipping the breaker.

Also what the fuck are these new captchas?
>>
>>107585928
it's the electrical equivalent of padded rollcage retard helmet, makes sense it's from the country that's actively sequestering itself from the big mean scary internet
>>
>>107585582
I was in the UK for the first time this year. After 3 days the ground of one of our plugs broke off inside the recepticle. It's a super shit design and you should feel bad
>>
>>107586179
>After 3 days the ground of one of our plugs broke off inside the recepticle.
this has never happened in my 31 years of living.
stop being a monkey smashing plugs into walls

doubles as a heavy duty caltrop in case you don’t have legos. brilliant!

falsenuke. the euroshit is so tight it’s a pain to get it out.

250v is nice when you have to stuff the washer-dryer in the living room of your council house.
>>
ITT: Ameritards malding that everything make and do is utter shit compared tot he rest of the world

must suck living in a backwards 3rd world shithole
>>

dryers don't use more than 500w anyway

Type F is coziest. I just like it.

Take your meds maybe.

Instead cucked to 230V.
Cucked when you realize the rest of EUROP has 400V right in the kitchen.
>>
>>107585119
UK plugs are unironically the best ones out there.
>>
>>107585119
disagree
they got us beat with that design but its too late to change
>>
>>107586021
yes.
>>
>>107586179
You probably had some cheap Temu/Aliexpress garbage that didn't meet the BS1363 standards spec. It's been a big problem over the last several years, not just for bongs but lots of other countries too - total trash that isn't legal.

It's hard to tell if it's incompetence and cheapness/jewry on the part of the Chink manufacturers or deliberate malice by the CCP to flood our countries with unsafe trash as a form of subversive lowkey economic warfare. Never ascribe to malice what can be more simply ascribed to stupidity, I know, but with the Chinese one can never be too sure.
>>
>>107586376
this is the main reason i get mine from screwfix. i miss their catalogues.
>>
>>107586376
Well even with a super cheap Schuko plug that just straight up won't happen. the socket itself provides the stability for the plug to not break off.
Sure, my adaptor wasn't made well enough, but still, It's a shitty design to have the prongs visible when plugging it in and you know it.
>>
>>107586347
congrats on falling for the bait
>>
>>107586116
Britain is the only country with safe electrics. Even with 16A breakers, you are still not safe, because small appliances like table lamps have cables which cannot take 16A. In the uk small appliances have 3A fuses.
>>
>>107586347
> but its too late to change
Not true, nothing stops you from buying and installing British sockets. Free yourself from your primitive savagery.
>>
>>107586318
i like type f too and they and type g should be best friends. only downside about type f is it allows type e to sully it unopposed.
>>
>>107586452
We have schizos who work for the government too.
My social landlord reported me to the fire department for having "too many cables" near a cupboard door. I was using it as my server room, total load? 350W, on a decent power strip, everything in order and they were having a proper melty.
Fireman came out, looked at it went "that's fine la'" and left. Stupid bint probably leaves her hoover plugged in too or her microwave on. Some cunts'd be right dangerous if they had brains.

Go to bed Nigel.
>>
>>107585947
There's still a bunch of the large, circular ones around in homes. Less common in new builds I think but my hot water heater uses the thick cunt plug.

??????????????????

My upstairs neighbour does it all the time, about once or twice a week.
Plugs in different chargers beside her bed, then steps on them when she jumps out to go piss urgently because she's like 4 ft 11, can here her swear when she does it too.

You don't wanna stand on one. I nearly stood on one last Thursday.

it's not. there isn't a reason to unplug things due to the switch. unless it's something like a vacuum cleaner, drill, things of that nature.

there are people who have shitloads of plugs that lay them under windows though.

Fused plugs too, it simply makes sense
UK plugs are the best we should restore the empire and remind the rest of world how to behave

Doubt intentional malice, probably a convenient side effect. Living in a large communal building I've an increasing concern about all the dubious lithium batteries in everything everywhere
Many little fireworks waiting to go off under the right conditions
