So what do you think about tech like this with the future of RAM prices? Should I buy one now before they get worse? I have an old pi 3 or 4 for projects (about to put into a Bulky MT-32) and I don't exactly need one right now but I would hate to need one in the future and it's fucking $300 or some bullshit when I can get one now for like $125.
>>
>Fomoing into backups of things you don't need in case of price rises
Anon come on, this is fucking retarded.
>>

It's the same miserable faggot spreading FUD threads. Ignore him like his caretakers does.
>>
>>107587357
The answer is still the same as always, do you plan on using the gpio pins or have a specific project in mind? If no then a mini pc is still the better purchase
>>
>>107587370
How is it retarded? I did the same thing earlier this year and upgraded my PC in February (instead of waiting til October) and I saved like literally $1000. It's not fomo, it's being prepared for future use cases. It's like storing sugar, salt, flour, spices and shit in your cupboard even if you're not baking right at that moment.

? This is literally the first thread I've posted on this topic.

>>107587380
I don't know, but I don't ever have a need for a mini pc. If anything I'd put it into another cyberdeck project if I can finish the design I've been working on.
>>
>>107587357
I kept hearing they were hard to get about a year and a half ago, a few months ago I got one for MSRP.
>>
>>107587445
Yeah that's part of why I held off at first and now I see they are in stock and I saw prices are already going up and figure it will probably go up more.
>>
>>107587357
Stock isn't too bad yet, might be able to wait a bit.

why would you get a pi over an older x86 micro pc
>>
>>107588424
Because I tend to use pi's portably in weird places or in cyberdecks and such and not plugged into a wall somewhere. If I were to do that I would just get get a modern mini PC with like an AI 370 in it or something, I don't need any of those though.

NTA but I use an old RPi that I use for PiHole and occasionally torrent seeding. I've thought about going that route and expanding what I use it for but I assume it'd be way more power draw when I can't really think of that much more to do with it.
>>
I mean if you know you're gonna buy it in the future then it's not a bad idea to save the money buying it now.
