Why are most modern websites bloated, nearly unusable trash? Some news sites, which should be fairly simple text oriented sites, won't even work without loading JS
If we're being honest, it has been this way since the mid 2000s. Never forget the monstrosities that flash embedding gave us.
Javascript frameworks. They get larger and larger and larger every year. Some jeet googles "How to add a button" and then they import like 5 different 4MB libraries just for a button.
