Do you really need it for your code?
>>
Need? No.
Want? Depends on the context.
There's other ways to do versions and distribution.
If your workflow doesn't need git then whatever. But a lot of people are used to it so if you work in teams its somewhat of an expectation, or at least some standard DVCS system.
>>
>>107593039
no ofc not, I can just
>everything.py
>everythingv1.py
>everythingv2.py
>everything_new.py
>everything_new_new.py
>asdsggdgsdjd.py
>>
>>107593081
You need a sane naming scheme ofc.
>>
>>107593095
post example that is demonstrably better than git. faggot.
>>
>>107593039
>do you need to undo your code
>>
Why wouldn't I use git?
>>
>>107593039
git is basically your undo and redo
if you've used undo and redo in your text editor then yes you need git
>>
>>107593116
Because you're not a building a super-complex set of tools and programs that need hundreds of test scripts.
>>
>>107593132
???
That doesn't mean having a history and branches isn't useful.
>>
>>107593148
And you can't have literal folders for each branch instead?
>>
>>107593189
Why on earth would I do that?
>>
>>107593103
What's got you acting that way?
>>
>>107593345
still waiting zzzzzzzzz
>>
>>107593370
>tired
Well that answers it.
>>
>>107593444
waiting waiting waiting !!!! i'll be waiting forever since everyone knows you'll never produce a response
>>
>>107593503
That's correct. I think you're assuming I'm the other Anon.
You should take a nap.
>>
>>107593520
still waiting lmao
>>
>>107593536
You're going to keep waiting. Forever.
Being inflammatory usually makes people want to interact with you less, not more.
Ask Anon again after you've had a nap and calmed down.
>>
>>107593550
i sure will lol, because you have no intention of actually demonstrating your claim and everyone knows it
>>
>>107593039
Why are you coding are you a tinkertranny or something?
>>
>>107593039
>Split problem into tiny bite size pieces
>Implement each piece at a time.
>Commit after each piece is done.
Now you have regular save points through out your development cycle. Why wouldn't I want that?
Also easily push to offsite repo for backup.
>>
>>107593039
You need it for everything, even managing your dotfiles.
>>
I use to rollback my fuck ups.
recently i had to work on a team and the code looked like >>107593081
total cancer
>>
>>107593840
>your claim
I hope this is cope.
