Why not just get Arch?
>>107595439you got the dud
>>107595439>whats the point of <fork>well it depends on the forkif there were no difference then it wouldn't be a forkand obviously they all have their own goalslike cachyos which compiles packages with faster but less compatible optimizationsuse your brain, read their home pagewhat, you think they all do the same thing or something? whats the point of asking this?
>>107595439because I need an installer, running an install script and/or reading a wiki to teach me the basics is far too cumbersome.

>>107595439Why not just get Debian?
>>107595439I actually don't know. I did use Antergos way back because it was just easier but now with AI, I can have an LLM guide me and even write scripts for an easy Arch install on any computer.
>>107595504this isn't even the hard part. In fact, none of it is the hard part. There is a bit of a learning curve but it's all relatively easy because it's extremely modular. >decide on a WM >install pulseaudio (it just werkz)>you're basically done
>>107595439I don't want to use basedstemd
Why did they make the archinstall script instead of just using Calamares like nearly every other distro? There's no shame in using a GUI, I mean even fucking Win95 had GUI installer. Not that archinstall is bad but Calamares is superior.
>>107595574AI even made bait fuckin gay.
>>107595439The big ones make sense, one is for retards, one is for bigger retards, one has no systemd, one is preconfigured so you can shove it in a pendrive and hack shit with it.
>>107595439Linus (the smarter one) uses Fedorathat would be enough of a reason for me not to use Arch, at least as main productivity system
>>107596831An incredibly autistic (good) interpretation of the KISS principle. Basically Calamares is unneeded when we have archinstall.
>>107598104I would agree if archinstall would at least have the same amount of features as Calamares. But there's no option to select packages and DEs only available through meta packages which is retarded. So if you don't like bloat, archinstall is only good for a base installation and you have to set up the rest by yourself.
>>107595534year plus old packages have no business being on a PC, a server sure, but not a PC.
