Get on par with debian package count first.
>>
>>107600332
the aur has 4x the amount of packages than debian sweetie

If they're not precompiled, they don't count.

would be more effective to cut your own cock off and pocket the money instead.

>just use spyware infested zero-trust-repo
>read PKGBUILD on every update
>read through code changes on every update
>do this for over 100+ packages every few days
Nah thx, I'm not insane enough for this level of masochism.

there has been 1 malicious package that caused you all to sperge out and it was called whateverbrowser-PATCHED and it was almost immedietly removed
>>
>>107600587
There were several, mostly with abandoned packages being taken over by random people from questionable countries.

What makes this endeavor even more insane is the necessity to read through the pkgbuild on every update.

AUR is impractical to the point where it becomes a maintenance and security nightmare, not even mentioning the compile time and power bill.
Unacceptable in my book as I have a life.

I already donate, with software.
Nobody is sending me any money thoughbeit.

Debian splits packages so the count is artificially inflated. I was considering switching to Debian but a lot of packages I need are not available, whereas they are readily available on Arch or the AUR. Compiling from source from the AUR is much less abrasive than trying to compile from source on Debian, you might as well be unironically running Gentoo at that point.
>>
>>107602008
BY that logic, move back to Windows.
>>
>>107600227
if i donate will they add more packages instead of relying on the (((AUR)))
>>

do you mean you need to read it for malicious shit or you're forced to mash through it
if it's the latter just do paru -Syu --noconfirm and it automatically skips all confirmations

The project is 30 dudes with automation scripts who can barely maintain infrastructure while opening their anuses to their first company they deemed as cool (valve). Where the fuck do they need to travel?
