I spent 6 months using a laptop after my pc's gpu died and I procrastinated on replacing it. The primary monitor turned on but it was black, of course I tried other cables and so on too.
Turns out that the second monitor (that was turned off at the time) was being selected as the primary and the windows lockscreen just shows black on all of the others

No OP.
I’m not a fucking retarded nigger.
You should go back to playing with consoles or buy a Mac. You are too stupid for this hobby.

I uninstalled my "broken" GTX 1080 during the first crypto panic because it stopped showing a signal.

The only GPU I could afford was a GTX 970.

3-4 months later, I randomly realise it was probably just a loose power connector, or me being retarded and plugging the HDMI into the motherboard.

25 minutes later, I realise I've been sitting on a working 1080 for no reason other than my own dumbass self.

I had the opposite experience. I bought power supply and when I finally built the PC, the power supply had MASSIVE coil whine. Brrrrrrrrrzzzzz
I was seething but I put up with it for a year.
After a year it stopped doing it. Iunno. I think it's because I was using IGPU and then bought a discrete one. So yeah, that's my advice if you ever have coil whine, probably the IGPU

Thank you for confirming this entire tread will be full of absolute retards sharing their retarded experiences.

I didn't RMA it but was close, one of my monitors would briefly go black when I was using my datavac to clean my desk, eventually I changed my desk setup around and needed a longer power cable so I swapped them and the problem stopped. Since I have so many of those cables from previous PC builds I figured instead of keeping the old ones I would just cut into them and save the copper for future soldering projects only to discover this gem. Around 0.5m of the three internal cables was completely unshielded, picrel

>buy new laptop
>go through the process of telling Windows to fucking kill itself while tortuously neutralizing every useless, anti-user "feature" that's enabled by default
>finally get online
>network connectivity is fucked
>run tests, reset network adapter, reset router, reinstall drivers, etc.
>it's still fucked
>thinking about returning the laptop
>take another look at the network adapter
>Google it
>scroll past all the useless, anti-user AI slop to the only useful results remaining on Google: fucking Reddit threads
>immediately find a comment telling me to disable 2.4G and roaming sensitivity in the adapter's advanced settings
>fixed
Why is everything so shit these days? All this "feature" did was throttle my download speeds and make my laptop think that it was losing wi-fi connectivity every 5 minutes. The average person would just think that their laptop is defective.

You could have asked us, we would have helped you.
What was it? Forgot to clear CMOS? Didn't wait for RAM training to end?
