>>107603477I had the opposite experience. I bought power supply and when I finally built the PC, the power supply had MASSIVE coil whine. BrrrrrrrrrzzzzzI was seething but I put up with it for a year. After a year it stopped doing it. Iunno. I think it's because I was using IGPU and then bought a discrete one. So yeah, that's my advice if you ever have coil whine, probably the IGPU

I didn't RMA it but was close, one of my monitors would briefly go black when I was using my datavac to clean my desk, eventually I changed my desk setup around and needed a longer power cable so I swapped them and the problem stopped. Since I have so many of those cables from previous PC builds I figured instead of keeping the old ones I would just cut into them and save the copper for future soldering projects only to discover this gem. Around 0.5m of the three internal cables was completely unshielded, picrel
