For me, it's Fedora. I don't know why anyone would recommend Mint these days. Fedora has sensible default settings, good built-in security, newer packages, good support, and you can easily replicate the Windows workflow with KDE. And if you want a macOS-like experience, there's GNOME.

Best distribution for new users? Yes, I think so.

Linux Mint and Bazzite.
I won't recommend Arch, Fedora, Debian or openSUSE to new users (yet).

bazz and bazz only

I agree especially with Fedora and Nvidia
It's simple but will filter beginners. Also using the full flatpak repo is kind of retarded. I don't know why fedora defaults to a curated set of packages.

fedora has the worst package management ever and the best part is that they fuck with it every major release its like cia balls torture. arch really isnt hard and pacman is so much better, i really think new users to linux would be much happier with a rolling release distro with the latest packages in le current year

also any distro that relies on flatpaks should be completely ignored, flatpaks are bloated in size and they are slow and take forever to launch because theyre cucked by design. new users come to linux to get away from the awful bloated windows experience only to get headaches from containerized niggerfication of packages. people dont know what theyre missing without the aur

Same, I've become a big fan after trying it 6 months ago and have been using it as my main OS since. Shit just werks way more often than with Xubuntu. I really disliked KDE in the mid-2000s, so I hadn't kept up with its development this whole time, and now it's absolutely fantastic.

I am going to install opensuse on my laptop thats collecting dust right now to spite you. I will tell you if its better than fedora

LMDE. Linux on ez mode cuz it's Mint. Doesn't flood you with updates cuz it's Debian-based.
>>
>>107607448
Fedora's ai slop now so I've been testing others.
for beginners i'll probably stick to suggesting mint or the official kde distro.
