>but it seems next gen is one month away
Not next gen but a refresh aka higher overclock for the 9850x3d per leaked benchmarks. Pricing, who knows? But like the x3d CPUs before it, the 9800x3d will hold value so selling it at a later date won't be a huge loss.

Finished my upgrade.

Went from 9700k with 32GB (2x16GB) of DDR4 @ 3200Mhz CL16 to a 9800X3D with 48GB (2x24GB) of DDR5 @ 6000Mhz CL30 (used buildzoids timings).

It's too late for me to really play or do anything, but I did some memory stress testing and it had no issues after multiple hours, so i'm satisfied.

Lucked out on finding this RAM at reasonable(ish) pricing and figured the market likely wont improve until 2028+, and my 9700k wasn't going to be enough for me beyond 2026 at most anyway.

basically, if you aren’t using superfluid helium to cool down your i3, you’re just larping. if you aren't bending the laws of physics just to run excel, you should honestly just go back to the stock cooler and that factory-applied gray toothpaste.

I mean it's just a $100 over the pump-res combo without it. Matter is that my PC sits working remotely for weeks at a time without me being home, so having a system providing security that a leak would never cause damage is enticing.

I got pic related back in July as I needed a decent lappy for hobby stuff while living abroad. There are sometimes big coupon codes floating around for HP products so I got a nice deal. besides some of the bloat and spyware I had to remove, it performs very well while plugged in. total dogshit when not plugged in but that doesn't concern me as I use it in my room only

That thing is crazy lmao, nice. Mine would just be for old mmos in bed/on the couch. So to keep power usage down I'm hoping that modern igpus can handle those games flawlessly while keeping total system power down. I'm not worried about plugging it in, it would just be nice to not need to. I tested one of them on an m3 macbook air(got fuckin hot) and I'm seeing around 2 1/2 hours of battery life. The most I'm willing to spend is probably $2k since that would be the cost of a well spec'd new macbook pro.

I need to buy a new monitor because my old beloved Samsung SyncMaster BX2450 has degraded. I loved it. :’(

Requests:

>budget 200€ max (Amazon)
>24” 1080p
>IPS
>real flicker free and anti blue light mode
>the lowest brightness setting has to be VERY low (I have dry eyes and il very sensitive to light I have to use monitors at 20% brightness)
>144 hz or more
>G-Sync or compatible
>vivid and saturated colours out of the box like my Samsung, I don’t want to waste hours calibrating shit
>no fake HDR
>height adjustable stand would be nice
>integrated speakers non necessary

It will be used mainly for internet browsing with some gaming on the side, nothing particular as I have an old pc with an i7 6700, GTX 1070 and 16 gb ram.

Thanks!
>>
>>107610415
Yeah, looking at reviews for intel/amd igpu options just doesn't really make sense for what I'm trying to do. Can't believe an mmo machine of all things is finally getting me to buy a mac(probably), my dad is going to lose his mind.

new cases are objectively better than old ones, as they all slowly incorporate all the good ideas of rival cases. You're objectively, categorically wrong, outside of meme cases that exist as standalones that is.

And your current case is dogshit, because you bought it secondhand and it's missing a leg, lmao. Wouldn't happen if you had bought a better case retard.

Not that anon but I use a 10+ year old 24in 1080p monitor as a secondary display, that I want to replace so I can get one that supports the daisy-chaining feature newer monitors have so I can plug it into my main monitor rather then directly into my computer

Is that daisy-chaining feature old enough that I can find one cheap and used with it, or would I need to find a new, more expensive 24in 1080p display? What is that feature even called so I know what to look for?
>>
>>107610667
>>107610791
I’m not larping, I’m just adverse to changing what works for me.
I’ve been using the same monitor since 17 years or so and it has been good to me, also upgrading to 1440p means that I have to lower detail in games because my pc is old and I don’t want to upgrade it.

With that said, you’re free to give me an alternative which satisfies all the criteria but 27” 1440p.
>>
I have a lianli lancool 216 with its stock fans (2 frontal 160mm intakes and 1 140mm exhaust). Now I put a 360 radiator on top with 3 exhaust fans.
Should I be running these front 160mm intakes faster to compensate?
It would be a bit annoying, but I can install an extra fan (actually 2, but one would essentially be blocked anyways) at the bottom of the case, or replace the 140mm fan on the rear with a 120mm one.
My previous configuration had the same stock case fans, but instead of an AIO I just used a tower cooler.

>What is that feature even called

Depends on the connection being used, does not work with HDMI and needs DisplayPort version 1.2.

- DisplayPort with Multi-Stream Transport (MST)
- USB-C with DisplayPort alternate mode
- Thunderbolt Multi-Stream Transport (MST)

your existing display might work as an endpoint with daisy chaining. my 2015 vintage display does even though it wasn't advertised to work with this feature (so, if I plug the PC to the DP input of the new monitor and plug the old monitor to the DP output of the new monitor it just works).
