I don't regret switching to MacOS. It has all the capabilities of Linux, but is an actually stable just werks OS.
>>107610783Funny you feel the need to justify yourself on a Tibetan basket weaving forum. Smells like cope to me.
>>107610807Selling point of apple was always macos. You are free from Windows curse and still have all your favorite software. This is why they were getting away with selling their computers for obscene prices while removing and reselling things that should come with the device (like usb ports)This is also why you can't officially install MacOS on anything other than apple product
>>107610783You're trading privacy for utility. Same thing as with modern Windows iterations, except not really because Win11 is literally useless.
>>107610881Can we hackintosh these useless windows arm laptops yet? I don't want the shitty hardware and soldered ram and ssd on a macbook
>>107610905>Can we hackintosh these useless windows arm laptops yetapple silicon is not arm
>>107610904MacOS is very private. All Apple products are are.
>>107610957Boy are you in for a surprise.
Is there a way to try it first though? Like can I install it to virtualbox?
>>107610783Honestly I would never use macOS as a Linux replacement. Why use a terminal on macOS? You don't even get repositories/secure storage for your terminal apps with brew/homebrew.As like a GUI Linux/Windows replacement, yeah it's pretty good. The time tracking feature leads to a reliant indicator to know how much time you put in working.

>makes windows gayming manchildren seethe>makes linux tinker trannies seethe>makes poor people seetheI love Apple.
Same. Gave Ubuntu a shot. Not enough itjustworks. Gave MacOS a shot. Itjustworks. Sad about not having lots of games but I'm more of a utilitarian with my computer anyway.
osx is by far the worst part of using a mac tho. I might use one of windows ran natively
>>107610881MacOS did not support Excel Data Models properly.A woman at work opted for a Mac, bending the rules, and she was wondering why the Finance team's Excels did not work for her. After weeks or months, someone finally told her that it's because she is using a Mac.

>>107610783Id switch if it wasnt so expensive and also didnt require you to monthly subscribe to every single piece of software. Literally anything in the apple ecosystem requires a $15-30 dollar subscription you have to pay for life
>>107610783Literally doesn't lmaoOne major use case: ip netns.
>>107612699How does Ubuntu not "itjustworks"?Even by your own criteria gaming on Mac doesn't even work lmaoMeanwhile my huge steam library runs just fine on Linux
tim apple won
>macs then> mac os is cool. too bad the hardware is overpriced garbage>macs now> apple sillicon is cool. too bad the os is garbage.

>>107610783BigMacOS only runs on speshul snowflake hardware, so it only has a smol fraction of Linux' capabilities.
