In 10 days on January 1st, the Texas Law [SB2420] that requires an ID to download ANY apps onto your phone using the App/Play Stores, goes into effect.
How do we bypass this, is it just over, should we all just switch to dumbPhones soon???...I know that theres F-Droid, and you can use the Aurora Store to bypass this (maybe), but some apps refuse to work unless you download them from the Play Store now, and I heard that sideloading will be disabled in 1-2 years, so it seems like its over.

>tl;dr
Once this law goes into effect, users located in Texas who download an app on the App/Play Stores, will be required to confirm whether they are 18 years or older, by showing their ID.

Something something it catches pedos?
Republicans stand for freedom, so if red states are the ones restricting porn and app downloads, that's just the price of freedom! Better red than dead!

lmao i completely forgot about this
the amerimutts have been awfully quiet about it

You better give them your ID and download X, the everything app or else ICE will come a knocking.
It won't matter if you tell them that you can produce your ID, the squads will come for you, knock, knock, nock, the triple law enforce fuck you.
I hope you're prepared texans, normal people download at least one app a week at least, you don't pony up and you could be out of the country by 2026.

anything to "protect the children" is simply something they are testing out and planning to eventually push onto adults too. people agree to surveillance and suppressing the speech of children "for their safety", those laws get passed, and from there, it's easier to build on those laws to control adults too.

WTF?

Looks like they're interfering with interstate commerce. Nobody is required to have an ID, so making it a prerequisite to doing business is fundamentally flawed.

burgoids just love shooting themselves in the foot to own the lib they hallucinated huh

Reminder that California is doing the same thing. A law, AB1043, passed with unanimous approval that if you host your software on any website or app store, you have to write the software such that it relays the user's age back to you every time they launch your software. And you have to log it EVERY SINGLE TIME.

It doesn't actually require ID, but that's because the OS vendor is required to store that information in a non-user accessible location and of course they have to get your age any time you run anything on your computer.
>>
>government IDs for every app download
SB2420 requires age check only for new app store accounts, not every download, retard. Existing accounts are fine. Sideloading is not mentioned at all in it either. Even with all of that, it's already being fought in court since it likely violates the 1st amendment.
