play older games instead of building a new PC idiots
>>107614715Waitfags never lean huh
>>107614749still crashes on wuwajust works on radeon
>>107614738I really dont get itWhats with all these AI companies hoarding all hardware, but eventually they gonna censor it and dumbed it down in the end anyway ? Chat/Gemini/Grok/etc, all cucked. Whats their point ??
>>107614755okay i'll do that and play them at 4K Oled 600fps
im playing red read redemption 1 at 90fps at 1440p on my 6600xt
>>107614759Works on my machine (Linux)
>>107614871buy a 5090 and a 4K oled monitor
>>107614776>Whats their point ??There isn't oneThey just know this is what gets us more money right nowThere is no overarching point beyond that
>>107614946I am gonna save the post # to laugh at your retarded ass in February
Is the MSI MAG A1250GL 1250w a better replacement to EVGA SuperNOVA 1000w G2?
>>107614759I guess it doesn't really matter. Men and biological woman won't ever see it.
>>107614996No get a Seasonic.
>>107615044what about Super Flower Leadex VII XP PRO 1200W
my 10700k still competes with the newest CPUs. crazy
>>107615050I've heard they are pretty good. I still like the Seasonic Vertex for warranty and quality.
>>107615066I resurrected an 8700K with 32gb DDR4 and a GTX 1080 and ran some benchmarks. Then built a system with an AMD 5600X using the same ram and GPU. Both 6/14 core/threads, both base clocked @ 3.7ghz, AMD boosted to 4.6ghz, Intel to 4.7ghz. The AMD spanked the hell out of the older Intel even though the specs were almost identical. And it ran a ton cooler, too. So... cool you're still rocking an older CPU and it works, but just be aware- time munches on for everything.
>>107614755I want to emulate PS3 games though, I need a better CPU. >>107614758No, they don't. I'm about to buy a Ryzen 9 9950x3d. Finally gonna replace that 11400f I had since 2022.
>>107615116*6/12 cores/threads
>>107615116time only affects you if you buy new things. Theres thousands of games released between 2010-2020 that run very well on my 10700k
>>107614759it runs fine, and benches highest on a 5090 anon. Why are you being a jeet?
>>107615140Like I said, that's awesome. I hope it lasts you for many more years. I might dust off my 8700K system and through together a system. The 1080 still has some legs on older stuff. And, I have some ram and ...well, everything but a case and PSU.
>>107615170I'm bringing back my 4790k as we speak. Don't know if it really can do much but I'm hanging some old parts on it.
>>107614755My watercooled 5080 is gonna get crazy FPS in Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Christmas Doom wads.
>>107615116>The AMD spanked the hell out of the older Intel even though the specs were almost identical5600X has 3x the cache so that should be obvious8700K gets closer with a RAM overclock>>107615162he was born that way
>>107615224I ~think~ it was 3200 ram that the 5600x happily ran. The 8700K never ran stable over, I think, 2800? Likely the ASRock motherboard, since an 8700K SHOULD run 3200 fine.
Do I need to have a PSU tester if it didn't come with my PSU?Hate to zap my motherboard and shit if it's a good idea to test before plugging in
>>107615162whats the point if it crashes
>>107615162>it runs fineNot On Nvidia.
>>107615162wuwa is broken on blackwell u dont play tthe game u just regurgitate retarded shit
>>107615294a) No PSU comes with one. b) Yes, it's a good idea, but I don't know anyone who does it.c) I had 2 bad PSUs back to back on a 2023 build. Both bad out of the box. First one did nothing. Second popped a cap as soon as I turned on the power switch on the PSU.
>>107615291>The 8700K never ran stable over, I think, 2800? Likely the ASRock motherboard, since an 8700K SHOULD run 3200 fineyeah probablyi think there was also some fuckery with non-Z boards on those old CPUs as wellobviously the 5600X is a better product but the 8700K can get surprisingly close for being almost 10 years oldif you paid upfront for a really good motherboard and RAM that would have been a better investment than going from zen 1 to zen 2 to zen 3 on AM4 (like many people did because reddit told them platform longevity is the most important factor when deciding on a new CPU)
>>107615208It shouldn't matter TOO much but I probably will grab a 120mm noctua to throw on there.
>>107615327Eh, it was all in an iBuyProblems PC I bought during the crypto GPU shortage. Cheaper to buy a PC with a GTX 1080 than buy the card and build around it. I got 5 good years out of it. It all still works and now that I think about it, I probably have the original PSU, too. The mobo was a Z370 Pro4. A very basic motherboard, but it did all I needed.
Since my current DDR5 sticks are bare sticks without and due to the current prices I won't upgrade them any time soon. I think I'll do what Linus did in a video. And put FB-Dimm DDR2 heatspreaders on them since I have couple broken FB-Dimm DDR2 sticks I could salvage those from.
>>107614755I did that for years but even "old" games struggle on my 1060 now
>>107615548*without a heatspreader
I think my current 3090 will be the last top end card I will ever own. Reason being that both it and my previous 980ti were loud and hot.I think once the RTX 7070 (or AMD equilevant) is released and if it has 24gb vram or more I will upgrade to that.
>>107614738stop early-baking you fucking mouthbreathing ape
>>107615618Will we even get a proper 60 series unless the AI bubble goes up given that nvidia doesn't give a fuck about gaming anymore?
>>107615618>AMD>UpgradingLol
