https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/semiconductors/taiwan-considers-tsmc-export-ban-that-would-prevent-manufacturing-its-newest-chip-nodes-in-u-s-limit-exports-to-two-generations-behind-leading-edge-nodes-could-slow-down-u-s-expansion

>Being concerned that TSMC’s expansion into the United States could dilute Taiwan’s semiconductor leadership, Taiwanese authorities are mulling setting a new export rule that would only let the world’s number-one foundry export technologies that are two generations behind its leading-edge production node

kinda funny, not gonna lie. apparently the taiwanese think america is somehow obliged to protect them from the mainlaind. just because, apparently.
>>
>>107614774
why does this one ching chong company have so much leverage over the world? why can nobody else build a plant that's on the same competitive footing?
>>
If the US has leading edge nodes and can get chips that way, why would they care that Taiwan gets nuked by China?
>>
>>107614774
The people who own TSMC are the same people who own every other big (((Western))) stock.
Stop believing all the crap you read matters somehow.

Moreover TSMC is in dire need of the west as there is only a singular company which makes EUVs (Dutch) and a singular company which makes the materials needed for them (German).

You will find the same (((people))) behind those companies as well but they are also (((governments))) who are also pawns to the (((USA))).

Nothing matters anon, nothing you ever read is organic.
>>
>>107614801
>leading edge nodes
no they don't
>>
>>107614800
because it's been allowed to basically. neither the chinks nor the europeans invented any of this, it was sort of given to them via economic policy in previous decades.

>>107614801
really they're fucked either way. the taiwanese are also dependent on the us military industrial complex for its best weapons, and all of that needs state department approval. they're kinda getting above their station.
>>
>>107614774
They literally are obliged. It's written into mutt law.
>>
>>107614800
why are there only 2 graphics card companies?
why are there only 2 commercial airplane manufacturers?
why are there only 2 - 3 OSes (mobile, PC)?
why are there only 2 browsers?
why only 2 credit cards?
etc etc etc...

>he's not buying nvidia and samsung

oh boy it's another episode of mutts being delusional again

No? It seems they think exactly the opposite. They think if the burgers can get the same chip tech at home, then they have no reason to give a fuck about Taiwan. They want the tech to stay in Taiwan so the burgers have a reason to defend them.
>>
>>107614774
Do you think them moving to the us increases or decreases their chances of being protected by other countries?
>>
>>107615332
they still don't have to defend taiwan, simply stop china from getting the fabs. that would immediately make the us number one globally. taiwan basically needs goodwill at this point.
>>
>>107614836
>the taiwanese are also dependent on the us military industrial complex for its best weapons
Just like Ukraine.
And they are losing. Despite driving Bradleys and Abrams and shooting HIMARS and having Patriots and F-16, they are losing.

Ukraine proved that the US is too weak to protect its allies.
Why would Taiwan want to become the next Ukraine? Its best to just negotiate with Xi Jinping.

>>
Does anyone here seriously believe that the US would defend Taiwan?
>>
>>107616210
The better question is "could"
>>
>>107614836
>neither the chinks nor the europeans invented any of this,
nigga without European technology it is impossible to make microchips
google ASML and Carl Zeiss to relieve yourself of your ignorance

and btw what's stopping the Chinks from making chips is not acquiring Taiwan
they already have the tech to do what Taiwan does
they lack the equipment Tawian has, which only ASML can make and they have banned Chinks from acquiring it
(which wouldn't do them much good anyway cause only Carl Zeiss can make the mats needed for ASML to make their machines)
>>
>>107614774
Or they just realized that the USA is too weak to defend them.

If you watch US allies dying all over the world, US soldiers getting killed by random sandniggers and US Navy Seals getting slaughtered by Houthis... why would you believe that mulattos can defend you?

Is there even one single example of the USA successfully defending one of its allies in the past 50 years?
>>
>>107616210
Well, at least the people of Hong Kong were allowed to live in the UK after the handover to China. The Taiwanese are not so lucky and must assimilate with the Chinese. Maybe the USA could give the Taiwanese an opportunity to move to the USA, maybe Hawaii.

>Hong Kongers can move to the UK using the British National (Overseas) visa, which was expanded in 2021 in response to the National Security Law in Hong Kong. This visa allows them to live, work, and study in the UK, with a pathway to permanent residence after five years.
>>
>>107616257
The Chinese have their own machines now and it took them not even a year.
Thats how awesome your European technology is, you are being replaced in no time when it matters.

Thats because that technology was never special in the first place. It was just gatekept with patents.
But when sanctions hit, patents become irrelevant.
>>
>>107616278
Of course lots of Taiwanese will move to the US.
Just how the US bailed lots of South Vietnamese out.
Just how the US bailed out the Afgani government.

All the allies are allowed to migrate when the US decides to abandone them. The issue is... they will barely be slaves in the US, lol
>>
>>107616278
That happened because in 1948 the post-WW2 british government wanted to prove how non-racist they are, by giving every single person in the colonies the British citizenship.

So whenever a colony became independent, the people had the choice to either stay there and get a citizenship of that specific new country, or move to the UK and stay a British citizen.
They imported 500.000 niggers from the Caribbean thanks to this.

So the Brits had no other choice in HongKong as well.
>>
>>107616358
Yeah, nah. I’m Australian and don’t automatically have a British citizenship, mate. It’s very easy to obtain citizenship, but there are certain things you need to do to obtain citizenship. Most Australians don’t have British citizenship.

>An Australian can apply for British citizenship through naturalisation if they have lived in the UK for a certain period, typically five years, and meet other requirements such as having indefinite leave to remain.
>>
>>107616278
>The Taiwanese are not so lucky
Imagine equating "living in the UK" to "being lucky" in 2025

Elon Musk is South African and can get British citizenship very easily.

of course, taiwan is geostrategically extremely important, and not just because of its industries. it's a spot that sits in the middle of the chinese coast and enables us to control everything.
it's as if us had only the east coast and cuba was sitting right in the middle of it and soviet union was packing it with weapons.
>>
>>107614800
European workers lack the intelligence, the skills, the mindset, the work ethic for this. Some very few yes, but by far not enough as needed for those fabs. In the US it's only even worse. Everybody is demanding better "work-life balance" and the ideology of DEI is preventing any competitive efficiency in the first place.
>>
>>107614774
No surprise there, the Silicon Shield has been part of Taiwan's defense strategy for decades.
